Chapter 30 - Power System(for those who want to know)

Author's Note:

Well… if you want to skip this chapter, you can. I won't stop you.

This chapter is mainly about power system. And yah the continuation of the story is next chapter.

Yeah, yeah, I know what you're thinking—"Power system explanations? Didn't every other author dump this at the start?" And you'd be right. But here I am, throwing it at you midway.

Why? Because I was writing a chapter, left it unfinished, and then… accidentally hit post. (Yeah, I know. Brilliant move. 10/10. Fuck me, right?)

So instead of letting this page rot in shame, I figured—why not make it actually useful? Might as well dump the power system here and make it worth your time.

So let's dive in. I'll keep it short and effective.

In this fantasy world, the source of energy—magic, power, all of it—comes from mana.

It slipped into this planet around a thousand years ago when the sky cracked open.

We call that event the Dimensional Crack. Mana leaked through it and bled into the world.

So how do humans actually use mana?

Well, mana isn't rare—it's everywhere. In the air, in the rivers, in the soil, in the rocks, even in the damn wind. It became part of the environment itself.

Humans use mana through a special organ called the Mana Core.

The core basically sucks in mana from the surroundings, filters it, and converts it into a purer, usable form.

Now, back in the early days, humans didn't even have mana cores. They couldn't sense mana at all.

That was until the birth of the First Mana Child—the first human born with the ability to naturally absorb mana. From there, evolution kicked in. Humanity slowly adapted.

Mana flows through mana veins in the body—like blood vessels, but for energy.

How effective it is depends on your level of mastery. Some are sloppy with it. Others? They make it flow like second nature.

Different classes use mana differently:

Warriors: They use mana as Aura. At first, it just strengthens their bodies, makes them hit harder, endure longer. Once mastered, they can coat their weapons in aura, turning every strike into something terrifying.

Mages: They channel mana into spells. Casting requires focus, precision, and balance. Every chant, every magic circle, every word matters. Their staffs act as mediums to stabilize that mana, while their chants guide it into shape.

Alchemists: They don't fight with mana directly. They pour it into their creations—potions, artifacts, inventions. Each one carries the signature of the alchemist's mana, like a piece of their life embedded into it.

Well, that's more or less how the basic mana system works.

Now let's move on to Blessings.

Blessings aren't something you're born with. They're gifts, given by the goddess herself—Aurelia, the Goddess of Life.

Every newborn goes through a ritual called Balpashim (yeah, I already explained it back in Chapter 24, so if you skipped that, go back and read it).

Anyway, Blessings are rare. Some kids get one, some don't. Nobody knows exactly why—it could be the potential of the baby, or maybe just the goddess's mood that day. Who knows?

Our MC, Evan, got one. But don't expect something flashy or overpowered.

His Blessing isn't a battle-type—it's a healing-type, called [Vital Flux].

Basically, it heals any gruesome injury he suffers. He just needs enough time—like, give him a good night's sleep, and he's back up again.

Now, how the hell is a Blessing like that going to be useful in battle?

Well… I'm not spoiling it. You can theorize all you want. I'll read your theories, and maybe laugh at them.

As for Emilia—the heroine—her Blessing is called [Chantless].

It lets her cast spells without needing chants or incantations. That makes her fast, deadly, and dangerous as hell in battle.

And Lucas—the original protagonist? Yeah, I'm not spoiling his Blessing yet. You'll find out later in the novel.

____

Spoiler alert.

Well, not a major spoiler, but something you should know: there's another core system besides mana and blessings—Elements.

Every awakened has some kind of elemental affinity. Fire, water, earth, wind—you know, the classics. But here's the catch: not everyone gets one. Yeah, some poor souls awaken without any elemental affinity at all. (Feelsbadman.)

Now, the fun part is that elements can evolve into stronger versions:

Fire → Thunder

Water → Ice

Earth → Gravity

Wind → Sound

Dark → Shadow

Light (rare as hell)

Space (super rare) → Time

And if you're sitting there scratching your head, like, "How does Space evolve into Time?"—just… go read Einstein's theory of relativity. That's all I'm saying.

Well, that's the major power system—short and effective.

Didn't go into too much detail 'cause, let's be real, it gets boring if I start writing a textbook.

If you liked the info, great.

If you think it was a waste… then yeah, I wasted your time. But hey, I'm just a poor author, let me live a little.

People make mistakes, I'm not perfect.

So, sayonara, goodbye, whichever—see you in the next chapter.
