Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Return of the Dragon King

Chapter 6: Return of the Dragon King

Could she do it?

She couldn't.

As Gu Yuena had already admitted, they were both avatars of the Dragon God. There was no need to bluff or act strong in front of Lin Yun. If she couldn't do something, then she simply couldn't—there was nothing to argue about.

In terms of strategy and planning, she fully admitted she was no match for Lin Yun. Even he didn't have full confidence in overthrowing the Divine Realm under current conditions—so much so that he abandoned his body to descend to the Douluo Continent. What confidence did she have to think she could do better?

"I won't be of much help to you," Gu Yuena said softly. "My injuries haven't healed. But I'll order Di Tian and the others to obey your command and assist you however they can."

The position of Soul Beast Overlord meant more than just authority—it carried the heavy responsibility of reviving the soul beasts and restoring the glory of the dragon race.

Now that the Golden Dragon King had returned, and she, as the Silver Dragon King, lacked the strength to act, the only choice was to let Lin Yun lead.

"Mm. Then focus on recovering. Leave everything else to me," Lin Yun nodded, accepting the burden.

His identity as the Golden Dragon King was now firmly established.

After all, the true Golden Dragon King was still dormant in the Forbidden Zone of the Gods, waiting for the spatial storm's arrival. He had no time to descend to the Douluo Continent to expose Lin Yun. So borrowing the soul beasts' power was more than acceptable.

With Tang San's influence growing stronger, Lin Yun could only develop quietly for now—gathering every ally he could, using every resource available.

"I'll have Di Tian take you out," Gu Yuena said, extending a finger. A flash of silver light passed through the air, and Di Tian stepped into the alternate space.

"Master. Respected One," Di Tian greeted both Gu Yuena and Lin Yun with deep respect.

In his eyes, both Lin Yun and Gu Yuena were incarnations of the Dragon God, and thus both rightful soul beast overlords. But calling both "Master" would be confusing, so he referred to Lin Yun as "Respected One" instead.

During Lin Yun's three-year slumber, Di Tian had visited this alternate space more than once. His title for Lin Yun had been approved by Gu Yuena herself.

"Di Tian, my brother descended from the Divine Realm to lead us back to glory—to launch a counterattack against the gods. You must follow his commands without question. If anything goes wrong, I'll hold only you responsible," Gu Yuena said coldly—though the way she called him "brother" was somewhat... distracting.

What was stranger was how naturally she said it, with no discomfort at all.

Even Lin Yun gave her a puzzled glance.

Well then. Not even thirty years old across two lifetimes, and now he had a little sister who was hundreds of thousands of years old.

Not bad, actually.

Very well. As king, I accept you as my little sister.

"Yes! I will fully support the Respected One's plans. I will help lead our dragon race back to greatness!" Di Tian nodded fervently, face full of fervor.

"Hmph, Di Tian, you misspoke," Lin Yun said arrogantly, lifting his chin. His gaze swept forward with commanding pride.

"When has our dragon race ever not been great?"

"It was merely a temporary low point. We have always reigned over the beasts—sovereign over all living things!"

Di Tian didn't reply. He simply looked at Lin Yun with even greater reverence and awe.

Yes. When has our dragon race ever not been great?

"Enough. Take me out. To escape the Divine Realm, I sealed most of my power. But even if I had to do it all over again, I would. I will return to the peak—no, surpass it!"

"Yes, Respected One!"

Di Tian bowed and opened a spatial gate before Lin Yun. After Lin Yun stepped through, Di Tian followed and exited the realm.

There was no denying Lin Yun's acting was phenomenal. Di Tian was stunned, unable to take his eyes off him. Even Gu Yuena, in her heart, had developed a sense of admiration for this "big brother."

"I'll leave it all to you… brother…"

Gu Yuena closed her eyes. Her flawless, beautiful form transformed once again into a massive dragon, curling up within the alternate space and falling into deep sleep.

She had never been able to stay awake long. Awakening for three years just for Lin Yun had already pushed her to the limit. For the foreseeable future, she likely wouldn't awaken again.

Lake of Life.

Lin Yun stepped out of the spatial portal and landed on the grassy bank beside the lake. He took a moment to observe the scenery around him.

All he could say was…

It really was beautiful. Untouched by humanity, this place was pure, wild nature. A land worthy of nurturing something as precious as the Life Gold.

"Respected One!"

A soft, melodious voice suddenly rang in Lin Yun's ears. He turned his head—and was met with a flawless, breathtaking face.

Her long, waterfall-like green hair cascaded smoothly down her back, each strand shimmering like crystal. A pair of white, wing-shaped ornaments gathered the hair together, with no other adornment.

She wore a gown woven like layers of feathers, tightly wrapping her graceful, slender figure. Only half of her fair arms were exposed, with not a trace of skin revealed elsewhere.

Most striking of all was the dense aura of life constantly radiating from her, giving off a deep, innate warmth.

Emerald Swan—Biji.

Ranked fourth among the Ten Great Beasts. A healing-type beast nearly six hundred thousand years old, known as the most powerful healer in all of Douluo Continent.

"It's you, Emerald Swan?" Lin Yun nodded slightly.

Though Biji was undeniably beautiful, having just survived a beauty attack from Gu Yuena, his resistance to charm had been significantly reinforced. He managed to keep his composure without embarrassing himself.

Besides, compared to Biji's green hair, Lin Yun still preferred Gu Yuena's snow-white locks.

"Yes, Respected One. I am Biji," she replied softly.

As Di Tian's mate, Biji naturally knew Lin Yun's identity. Not just her—the other beast kings had also been sternly warned by Di Tian: anyone who dared offend Lin Yun or Gu Yuena would be facing the wrath of the Dragon God's Claw.

Just then, Di Tian stepped out of the spatial portal as well. He walked up to Lin Yun and asked in a low voice, "Respected One, what are your instructions now?"

Lin Yun lowered his gaze. His right hand slowly transformed into a golden dragon claw, and his pupils shifted into vertical slits—though not blood-red this time, only a brilliant golden hue.

He compared the feeling to what he experienced when first obtaining the Golden Dragon King bloodline and paused slightly in surprise.

'It's weaker than before… is it because I'm still too weak to fully wield the Golden Dragon King's power?' he wondered silently.

After all, using a human body to carry the bloodline of a God King was definitely unrealistic.

Tang Wulin, for all his status as Tang San's son and true child of a God King, had nearly been torn apart by the Golden Dragon King. For Lin Yun to merely escape being forced to progress through some sealing mechanism was already an achievement.

That unknown being… must've been far more powerful than Tang San.

Still, it didn't matter. Even if he could only use part of its power, his martial soul was undeniably a pure-blood golden dragon.

Starting today—the Dragon King had returned!
