Chapter 7: The Soul Beast Prepared by Di Tian

Di Tian and Biji quietly observed Lin Yun's actions, not interrupting his thoughts.

After retracting his martial soul, Lin Yun's right arm returned to normal—but his already-tattered clothes were now in an even sorrier state.

Noticing this, Biji, ever attentive, somehow produced a white feather robe from nowhere and draped it over Lin Yun's shoulders.

"You're thoughtful," Lin Yun said with a faint smile as he glanced at the robe.

It wasn't that he didn't want to say more, but as the Golden Dragon King—a being of rage and conquest—his persona didn't allow for excessive emotion or sentimentality.

Biji smiled gently. "It is simply what I ought to do."

After giving her an approving look, Lin Yun turned to Di Tian and spoke, "Di Tian, I just checked. My rebirth is complete. Other than the power hidden in my bloodline waiting to be unlocked, I'm no different from an ordinary human now."

"In terms of lifespan and martial soul... you understand what I'm implying?"

"Yes, Respected One, I understand," Di Tian replied with a sigh. A sharp light flickered in his eyes. "Your soul power has reached a bottleneck. You need a soul ring. I'll find a suitable soul beast to offer its ring for you to absorb."

Lin Yun let out a faint smile. A trace of pure dragon might flashed briefly around him.

"In the past, the human gods launched a war against us out of greed. And afterward, they sealed the path for beast gods to ascend, turning the Douluo Continent into a cage."

"But rest assured. I will personally shatter that cage—rip the heads off those so-called gods one by one."

The Golden Dragon King's attributes were pure strength and destruction—the most fundamental and primal form of power. Even within the Star Dou Great Forest, few soul beasts met the requirements for such a soul ring.

And Di Tian, of course, would only seek the best for him.

"Found it!" Di Tian's right hand suddenly transformed into a pitch-black dragon claw. With one mighty swipe, he tore down a mountain hundreds of meters tall, revealing a sealed zone buried deep beneath.

The seal radiated dark energy and strong spatial fluctuations—clearly a seal placed by Di Tian himself.

Through it, one could vaguely see a massive, strange beast—hippo-shaped, but bearing tusks, claws, a muscular build, and covered in dense fur.

"Good thing I didn't kill you back then and chose to seal you here instead. Otherwise, I would've missed out on a valuable resource."

With a sweep of his hand, Di Tian summoned dark soul power to lift the beast and tear open space, sending it swiftly toward the Lake of Life.

By the lake—

Lin Yun sat casually on a rock, legs dipped in the clear, life-filled waters, idly stirring the surface. The gentle ripples spread out in arcs.

Biji sat nearby. Although she didn't submerge her fair legs into the water like Lin Yun, a school of playful fish had gathered near her.

In contrast, none came near Lin Yun. The faint dragon might radiating from him had scared them off—every single one had fled to the safety of Biji's soothing aura.

Seeing this, Lin Yun's face darkened as he glared at the fish with ill intent.

Tonight, Di Tian, I want fish for dinner.

Di Tian: ???

Biji let out a soft laugh. When she noticed Lin Yun's sharp gaze, she quickly covered her lips, though the amusement in her eyes couldn't be hidden.

'Why does our Respected One, even though he looks like a child now, act a little childish too?' she chuckled silently in her heart.

But at most, that was something she dared only to think. She would never say such a thing to his face.

The dignity of the Golden Dragon King was not something she dared to offend.

Lin Yun snorted lightly and turned away, not bothering to argue with her.

What mattered now was this—what kind of soul beast would Di Tian bring him?

A Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear? A Titan Giant Ape?

Or perhaps… a pure-blooded dragon-type soul beast?

All of those… were entirely possible.

Just as Lin Yun was lost in thought, Di Tian descended from the sky, bringing with him a massive black shadow that landed gently not far away.

"Respected One, I've brought your soul ring," Di Tian said with a bow.

Even without Di Tian saying a word, Lin Yun could already tell this was the soul beast prepared for him. His gaze was instantly drawn to it. After carefully examining the strange-looking creature for a while, he hesitantly asked,

"This is… a Behemoth? There are Behemoths on Douluo Continent?"

Lin Yun was baffled.

From what he recalled, out of all the multiverse-type fantasy worlds he'd read, only the world of the Cannon Emperor featured a Behemoth—and it was a purple-gold one at that.

But he'd never heard of a Behemoth in Douluo Dalu.

"Respected One has sharp eyes. This is indeed a Behemoth, and likely the only one of its kind on Douluo Continent," Di Tian explained.

Through Di Tian's explanation, Lin Yun finally understood the origin of this creature.

It wasn't part of a Behemoth species, but rather a soul beast that carried a trace of Behemoth bloodline. Through sheer luck, it had awakened the ancestral power hidden deep within that bloodline and evolved into a true Behemoth.

The only one in existence.

Over ten thousand years ago, when Skydream Iceworm drifted across the sea and arrived in the Star Dou Great Forest—only to be captured by Di Tian and the other beast kings and imprisoned by the Lake of Life as a living battery—this Behemoth had appeared.

That was even before Tang San had been born.

Behemoths, who fed on dragons, were a species stronger even than the Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear.

Di Tian and Zi Ji had once wandered deep into uncharted territory while preparing to produce a dragon egg. There, they caught this Behemoth scavenging on the territory of the Hell Demon Dragon.

Originally, Di Tian had intended to kill it outright. But considering this might be the only Behemoth on the entire continent, he suppressed his bloodline's instinctive hatred and sealed it away instead.

This Behemoth was 3,300 years old. Its full name: Madblood Behemoth—a battle-mad lunatic that fought with zero regard for its own life.

It might sound a bit offensive to say, but in Di Tian's opinion, it was absolutely perfect for Lin Yun.

You could always find a Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear—higher age limits could be arranged any time. But a Behemoth? There was only one.

Thanks to the Golden Dragon King's overwhelming bloodline, along with the Life Gold's three years of transformation, the typical limitations that restricted soul masters to hundred-year rings simply didn't apply to Lin Yun anymore. Absorbing a 3,300-year-old Behemoth ring would be effortless for him.

This… was the first soul ring Di Tian had prepared for Lin Yun.

"Not bad. You've done well. I'm very pleased with this soul ring," Lin Yun said with genuine approval.

If Di Tian said he could handle a 3,300-year ring, what was there to be afraid of?

Time to go all in.

After Di Tian loosened the seal slightly, Lin Yun's right hand transformed into a golden dragon claw, and with a single strike, he killed the Behemoth on the spot.

A noble, deep-purple soul ring gradually formed above its corpse.
