"Mind telling me a bit more than that? I get that the seated officers are strong but just those titles don't tell me a lot."
Diamondhead folded his arms after complaining at his lieutenants with a less than informative answer. Said lieutenant blinked, turning his head towards his alien captain.
"Crap, you're right. So the gist of it is that these two are from a lesser noble clan, they respected Captain Kuchiki because of his title and status. They had a holier than tho attitude, warmed up to everyone eventually. So I am just as confused as you as to why they're doing all this." The alien cooked a crystal eyebrow, Renji simply shrugged.
The duo continued to converse, seeming to have forgotten their adversaries. Staring at the scene were two bewildered silver haired Soul Reapers. Preparing their weapons, the twins let out a sudden burst of spiritual energy.
Their weapons hungrily devoured their respective owners' power with gusto. Noticing the on coming strike, Diamondhead stomped his foot into the ground.
The ground beneath them shook violently. Then before the duo rose a great wall made of blue-ish green diamonds. Rising to the occasion, Renji uttered the names of several defensive Kido spells.
Multiple colors seeped into the alien's defence, the Petrosapian could feel his crystals undergoing a change.
Kido, Zanjutsu, Hakuda and Hoho. The four pillars of Soul Reaper combat.
Kido arcane spells.
Zanjutsu swordsmanship.
Hakuda unarmed combat.
Hoho movement techniques.
A Soul Reaper who can master all four pillars could be considered unrivaled in terms of pure combat prowess. In the long history of the Gotei only one man could claim to have mastered all four pillars.
'Genryusai Yamamoto.' Within the sunny green hill tops of the alien's inner world was the old king Barragan.
As usual he sat on his throne forged from the universe, his legs were crossed and his arms were folded. He looked to the grass, the expression on his face was a mix of unbridled rage and frustration.
'We clashed a long time ago, his blade turned the sands of my kingdom into glass. Despite his efforts he could not kill me, neither could I him. Your strength is your versatility and truly monstrous battle aptitude, however you lack experience.'
Before the tall alien could retaliate thorny steel tough vines alongside debris and items flung at insane speeds aided by the lack of weight. Pelted the now colorful multilayered crystal magic wall.
"Alright Captain, what's the plan?!" Renji's eyes were filled with stars. Internally sighing the alien dragged a hand down his angular face.
"First you're laying on the enthusiasm a little too much there dude. Second, no Bankai under any circumstances. Thirdly the plan is is hitting them fast and ha-"
From behind himself Diamondhead heard the sound of splintering wood. A twisting column of vines emerged reaching the same height as the crystal alien.
"You talk too much. Bakudo number four Hainawa. " Splitting open the vine column revealed a delicate hand, crackling yellow energy radiating out slithering like a serpent. The yellow energy rope coiled around Diamondhead's indestructible body, forcing him down to one knee.
Exiting her column, Niwa had a confident smile etched on her beautiful face.
"How, careless mister pretender. That should bind you for a little while." Her attention left the alien instead she moved her head from side to side searching for her lieutenant.
Nothing. Even her spiritual senses could not detect the location of the Red haired young man.
Niwa fully stepped out of her vine column, hilt in hand she approached the struggling diamond alien. He tried to break the binds, causing the familiar sound of shattering glass ring out.
He was only a few steps away from her, so she could analyze the scene as she approached. What peeked her interest was the multi-colored crystal wall, all the colors shone bright, causing deep shadows to be born.
"Where is he?" She asked in a calm voice, that failed to her irritation.
"Hmm? Oh, no clue. Maybe if my apparently subordinate unties me then we can make up and I could help you look for him." Niwa rolled her eyes at the crystal man's joke.
"We both know he is somewhere in the area, otherwise all his spells would have dissipated into ambient Reishi. So tell me." The noble woman commanded her vines to form into eight robust tendrils. Each pointed to one side of the alien's head.
"This form of yours specializes in defense, no? With humans the two most protected body parts are the brain and the rib cage. With the way you're standing right now striking your chest would be a hassle Ugh, but more importantly I wonder how many blows to the head you can take." A wicked smile played on the woman's lips as she inched the tendrils or rather organic spears to his head.
Reaching the woman's ears was the sound of shattering glass, she gritted her teeth.
"Would you stop that! Or change into another form that does not make that ear piercing noise!" She wanted to tear off The Petrosapian's head there and then. However the Reaction of her hostage made take a step back.
A genuine smile spread across the crystal man's face, one that indicated she had been duped.
"If you say so." After Uttering those words a blinding emerald flash Filled the area. The delicate woman covered her eyes, waiting for the light show to end.
Sadly what awaited her was a world of pain.
"Ahh!" She released a shrill high pitched cry, her Vision was filled with the arcs of yellow lightning. The lightning coursing through her body made her think that every single one of her cells were on fire.
Her Legs lost the strength that they once carried. She began to topple over, her face wanting to be planted on the ground at the cheek.
The last image she saw before the world faded to black were a candle with socks, and a foot that belonged to a primate. She questioned if she was seeing things with that last, her eyes closed finally.
Chikara stood on the other side of the multi-colored crystal wall. He tapped his foot, holding his halberd to his chest.
"Niwa!" His eyes widened, then narrowed he could sense his sister's spiritual pressure plummet.
"Bastards!" The amethyst Eyed young man raised his halberd above his head. And with a roar, he swung the jet black weapon down on the wall.
Seconds before he struck the enhanced crystal wall he flooded his weapon with His spiritual energy. The weapon seemed to lose its form turning from solid to misty.
He struck the wall, despite the spear seeming loose it's durability a shockwave was born from the impact.
The wall shook as the ground rumbled.
Without warning the crystal construct fell through the floor, splintered wood flew through the air.
Chikara leaned on his now solidified weapon, his posture was slumped, his breathing ragged.
He looked up expecting to be met with the image of the crystal man and his superior Renji, restraining his sister.
He was only met with the sight of Renji standing over his sister. The red-haired man's sword at her neck.
Chikara Felt his vision be overtaken By rage, his view of the world became drowned in red.
"G..get aw-" His jaw went slack, the nobleman could feel his weapon, hear the white noise that saturated the background.
However, any action he commanded his limbs to perform went unanswered. A primordial fear gripped at his heart, he lost the ability to move his body.
His eyes darted over to Renji, who could see the burning question that filled them.
"Ha. You lost, and to party tricks at that. Captain's crystals can reflect energy, but Kido, especially Bakudo barriers, have the penitent to stick around. That's how I was able to sneak up on Miss Thorny over here. As for you, let's let your shadow do the talking." The squad six lieutenants' smiles widened, Chikara eyes drifted to his feet. Just as his opponent said his shadow, or at least the part that was visible to him, had changed shape.
It went from being a perfect silhouette of himself, to a perfect circle. In the next instance, the odd shadow moved a part of itself away from him. It began to rise similar to his sister's vine transport technique.
Instead of a human rising from a vine column, a shadow column rose. The shadow pillar twisted, a deformed sphere, elongated limbs and a small torso.
One half of the, what Chikara assumed the being, was stark white the other jet black. Six emerald eyes formed, and lastly the familiar hourglass took its place on his chest.
The shadow man deformed its head, creating a large mouth that laughed at the nobleman. Strongly, however, no sound came from the action.
He wanted to clench his fist and strike the shadow before him, to his dismay however he could not even move a finger.
"Don't think about doing anything, you would just be wasting energy. That stunt you pulled by increasing the gravity on that wall and his sometimes annoying made for a good distraction." The shadow flailed its arms about in the direction of Renji, to show his clear disdain for such a description.
Inflating and deflating like a balloon, the shadow seemed to calm down. Placing his stub of a hand to his chin, he shadow seemed to discern the amethyst-eyed Soul Reaper.
Melting away back into the Soul Reaper's shadow, the alien shape-shifter took control of his body. The shadow refused into Chikara, sending a chill up his spine, as if ice was being injected into his body.
He made a 'come here' motion to Renji, and the lieutenant approached slowly. The young sauntered over with a whimsical smile on his face.
"Is this going to hurt you?" You know what, forget it." The circular shadow beneath the silver-haired shifted violently. The red-haired man straightened his hand then struck Chikara's neck.
Leaving the nobleman's shadow, the alien reformed behind the young man. He caught the other man using a platform made from his black arm.
A bright flash overtook the area, forcing Renji to cover his eyes. In the next instance what stood before Renji was a brown-haired emerald eyed young man.
Ben stretched out his right arm, his left was occupied with the task of carrying the unconscious Soul Reaper Chikara.
The now human young man looked at the destroyed hallway and the gaping hole behind his lieutenant. Renji grimaced at the destruction, his captain took his right hand and combed it through his hair.
"The old man is going to kill me. Ugh." Ben hung his head down. Then with lightning speed his head shot up, eyes glued on his lieutenant, a villainous smile on his. "No, he's going to kill us. Also what was that move this guy used that could kill us."
After hearing the emerald eyed young man's terrible world play, the Soul Reaper felt the terrible grip of exhaustion tighten.
"First captain, what do you mean by us? Second, Chikara's zanpakuto manipulates gravity, that's why your wall fell through like that. Having a direct strike land on you could be fatal i-" Ben raised his free hand towards his lieutenant.
"Ok, that is all the information I need, go grab..Uh..Niwa right? Whatever they blew up our base and beat up our subordinates, I don't care if I get their names right anymore." Deciding that he had said enough, the alien shape-shifter turned heel and began to leave.
"Wait, how are we going to fi-?!"
"Don't worry about the base I got it, just worry about that report for the old man you're going to write." Renji's mouth hit the floor, his captain did not even bother to face him as he left.
"Wait for me, I don't want to write that report for the Head Captain!" Renji gingerly picked up the unconscious woman into arms then ran behind Ben through the destroyed hallway.
The young man wearing the signature coat of the sixth division snickered.
'I hate to ruin your..joyful mood, however our business has yet to be concluded.' Barragan interlocked his fingers as he stared up at the cloud cover sky of Ben's inner world.
'What is it?' Forcing himself to not feel irritated by the sudden interruption, the young man responded. His voice to the old king of Hueco Mundo inside the world of endless green hills seemed omnipresent.
'Each passing second is another we lose to prepare for Aizen's return. The devil sealed himself away in a hell of his own making. I ask you to retrieve my body from that bucket hat wearing fool!' Recognizing the disdain in his partner's voice, the Hero had a smile that extended from ear to ear.
'Oh, old king Barragan I thought we came to an agreement, that Urahara guy gets to hide your body from your rival for us in exchange for info from your side.' Ben in the real world began Walking with a greater stride than before.
'Unless you want Mayuri to do, who knows what to do with the body of one of the oldest Hollows on record?' False concern laced every syllable Uttered by the young brown-haired man. Barragan's muscles tightened at the thought of the mad Soul Reaper scientist prodding his body in the name of his research.
'Fine boy, but what I said still stands. We must ensure when the gates of hell reopen, you can slay the devil.'
…
Somewhere far above the sky of the Soul Society, a monk prayed before a shrine.
