Chapter 32 - The Road

At the same time.

Saiban was left awe struck.

The man that introduced himself as Eon took him from the Soul Society. Before ever meeting any potential allies, he was locked away, that box he was sealed in removed him of his ability to sense anything. He could understand exactly how much time passed but the desire to know was useless; his new master seemed to have powers related to time, so understanding was most likely an exercise in futility.

What he found himself within was akin to being drowned in darkness, not a simple lack of light, no true primordial darkness. A darkness that opposed light, the only time he could recall even hearing about it was in the creation myth he was told as a child.

Shaking his head, the former member of Central Forty-Six began to follow behind his new master. Eon, was a pillar of power and might incarnate. His dark cloak that swooped behind him made the blind folded man feel as insignificant as an ant following behind an angel with dark wings.

The duo flew down towards an island, the area they entered could only be described as vast. Fresh flower scented air filled his lungs, a radiant sun beamed down onto them illuminating the world, revealing to the newcomer the five islands, white foamy sea and the several clouds in the sky.

"Ensure to not be lost in the world's majesty now." A distorted voice that spoke with the experience of ages, reached the middle aged man's ears.

Trying his best to appear composed the blind folded man spoke, "Of course master, but can you blame me? This world speaks of intricate design and years of dedication, I would be surprised if anyone would not be stirred by its grandeur." He used the most pleasing tone he could muster while also ensuring there was no hint of disrespect. The difficulty of the task was made harder thanks to the pleasant smelling wind that crashed against them.

Silence followed between the two, as Saiban saw them approach an island that seemed to be the center of the world. He could make out only major characteristics of the land, a singular volcano, three rivers that joined at the center carving the land into three.

That symbol the land made, it was familiar.

If his eyes were not covered by his blindfold he would have rapidly blinked.

"Hahaha, I see why you have served the central Forty-Six for as long as you have. You have the tongue of a true politician." Swallowing the words he wanted to utter, the politician in question forced a smile.

"Apologies my lord, habits and the likes, you know what they say about them." Biting back his desire to strike the man for the insult he simply focused on controlling his tone and volume his robes fluttered about in the wind.

He could see Eon leading him towards the part of the island that could be considered the top.

"Oh, be sure to reinforce your body with Reishi, Skya does not take kindly to newcomers." Before elaborating any further, Eon seemed to become pure violet light and shot down towards the land mass.

Taking his new master's advice to heart, the middle aged man focused his spiritual energy into increasing his durability. Not a moment later he felt his body being pelted with small metal projectiles, they shattered on impact with his body. He decided to avoid the next volley, taking note that the attack seemed to only travel in a straight line.

A cruel smirk played on his lips. His master referred to someone he knew before the attacks arrived. Readying himself, Saiban thought of every spell available to him and the large pool of spiritual energy within him.

He arrived with a thundering crash onto the island, he could hear the animals both big and small scatter about, leaving the area as they could sense a calamitous was about to ensue. The area was stocked to the brim with palm trees, lush undergrowth, pineapple bushes and banana trees being weighed down.

His head whipped around each direction he focused his senses in an attempt to detect his opponent.

"Could they have used a device or skill to suppress their power?" He instinctually moved his hand to his blindfold, his fingers glided over the embroidered kanji. Taking a moment to reassess the situation Saiban raised his arms to the sky, dipped his head and shouted.

"Bakudo number 62 Hyapporankan!" Two massive blue-white glowing rods materialized then launched themselves into the air, with frightening speed. The rods reached high into the air, before scattering like two bags containing marbles being torn open. Several more rods began to descend ready to strike the earth below with indiscriminate might. Careening his head up, and placing his arms over his chest the man with dual colored hair showed off a cocky smile, assured in his plans success and his safety.

Screeching similar to that of a dozen birds met his ears, he turned around with a scowl on his face bright incandescent flames manifested in his right, while in his left hand uncaring blue frost froze the air. Bright light illuminated the forest covered by tropical trees, scorching underbrush while a great mechanical roar caused several birds to take to the blue-white rod speckled sky.

With a wide mouth, the former member of Central Forty-Six with his spiritual perception saw an uncountable number of metallic objects called missiles fly towards his army of rods. The two sides met up above the island, causing several large scale explosions to go off.

The wind pressure made it feel as though a powerful spiritual pressure was crushing him, gritting his teeth. The middle aged man weighed his options and struck the ground with his left hand. His own spiritual energy moved rapidly constructing a multi-layered dome to protect him.

Once the only thing he could sense was his own energy Saiban sighed and then sat on the ground, the interior of the dome was cramped restricting his range of movements. The man creased his brow, then cursed himself for not constructing it in a manner that allowed him to have a wider range of motion.

"Ugh, doesn't matter once these damned, explosions cease dealing with my foe should be a relatively simple matter." The explosions continued to sound off, their power shook his dome as if a behemoth walked the Earth.

"Quiet the disrespectful intruder you are. Stepping onto a woman's home unannounced and the blatantly mocking said woman to her face. I was beginning to feel sorry, but now I feel like my sympathy was misplaced. Ugh." Centimeters away from his chest a white flame rested and spoke in a sultry voice.

After realizing a kick landed on his chin. The biting cold from the dome made itself known as his head crashed every single layer. He flew higher and higher as if he had been launched straight from a canon. Warm blood from his fractured and wounded skull dyed his lightly colored hair. He gritted his mind reeling in pain and burning with questions. Nails dug into the palms of the blindfolded man Reishi concentrated beneath his feet, his posture straightened.

Holding his head, grinding his teeth with a furrowed brow. His pain was as clear as the beaming sun, his gaze searched the environment, blood dripped down his head, the metallic scent of his own blood caused him to grit his teeth even tighter, feeling as though his pearly whites were on the brink of shattering.

"How ugly." Behind him the voice resounded, causing an inferno of anger to be lit within the middle aged man. Turning with lightening speed what he could sense was a woman from the vague silhouette he could deduce she was rather shapely. Supporting her in the air was an odd tank, the machine had four legs and a circular core and what the man assumed were long barreled weapons.

Barring his teeth towards the woman, an entire spectrum of color overtook the space around the blind man. Hado spells up until number 70 promised to besiege the woman with true destruction, flames, frost, earth, lightning points of distorted space hung in the sky menacingly.

Koyanskya smirked, holding out a hand before herself, from a sea of golden sparks, a brown hunting rifle made its appearance. Using a potion of her Divinity, a power allocated to her as a fragment of the Sun Goddess Amatarasu, she formed a bullet within the gun then mentally commanded the world to make her shot strike true.

She lined up the rifle with her foe, aiming at his heart. A tension so thick it could have been cut into was disrupted as the duo sent out their attacks. The pink haired woman felt a minor fragment of her being leave her as pulled the hammer of her gun, Saiban felt the reservoir of spiritual energy within him deplete rapidly.

Neither, however the woman smiled sadistically while the bleeding man's face was a map constructed by popping veins and wrinkles.

The world seemed to actively scream as the two attacks travelled, each one carrying power that overwrote reality or affected it on a visible scale.

Luckily no explosion, no shattering of space and time occurred. A violet flash overtook the vision of the woman while Saiban looked away sensing a dangerous aura, when they both viewed what had caused the light, they both had drastically varying emotions.

The pink haired woman tilted her head and smiled, while her opponent froze as if his body had been encased in ice.

Floating in the middle of them, his temporal powers on display stopping both of their attacks. Freezing them in place, Eon glanced at both of them, his glowing eyes seeming to take in even the finest detail on the both of them.

"You two appeared to have had...fun while I was away." To punctuate his statement the helmet wearing man waved his arm, the two powerful attacks fading from sight as if they had never been. Suddenly not being able to sense his own spiritual energy that made up the volley of spells left the bleeding man's mouth agape.

Seeming to sense the man's confusion the time traveler spoke, "Do not concern yourself with where your attack has gone, just know if you wanted to find it that time period has long since passed." A terrible shudder rocketed up the blindfolded man's spine reminding himself of the reason he must stay on his newest master's good side.

"Master!" Screaming with a massive smile on her face, Koyanskya launched herself towards Eon. Leaping off her hovering tank directly to his side, she met him mid air catching his arm in between her plentiful chest. Her tail wrapped around his legs as she buried her head into the crook of his neck, Eon grazed at her, noting the sparkle in her golden eyes.

"Master you left me all alone, then the next time I feel you arrive back you disappear leaving me with this man." The woman puffed up her cheeks, while also staring at him with eyes that seemed to be on the verge of tears. Sighing at his Servant's antics the time traveler delicately moved the woman so she would be clinging to him from the front of his body.

He attempted to ignore the soft sensation of having the woman's soft chest atop of his own; he looped an arm around her waist to draw her in, he felt the pink haired woman jolt at his gesture. Instead of pulling away the grip of her tail tightened as she held on tighter to him, he sighed internally.

"I apologize, Skya, is there anything I can do to make it up to you." His tone sounded as if he was forcing the words out his mouth, the warmth of her body on his making the act of sounding calm even more difficult.

Koyanskya looked her master in the eyes, she could see a reflection of herself thanks to his helmet, her red rimmed glasses, golden eyes, pink hair with fluffy animal ears and most importantly the cheshire grin on her face.

"Mana transfer, and no. I am not talking about the blood kind." Her voice was low and sultry practically dripping with desire.

Being grateful for his dark helmet hiding his expression Eon nodded, which caused a squeal ring out from the woman that clung to him. His eyes drifted from the woman to the still shocked and suspended Saiban, he decided to take matters in his own hands with a mental command a burning violet light covered the trio covering the dark robed man's act of distorting space itself.

When the flash ceased the now healed blindfolded man found himself within a throne room, a large staircase leading up to a throne where his newest benefactor sat. The woman seemed to have disappeared, easing an unknown tension that had been weighing on him. The only image within the former face of the Central Forty-Six was met with was the silhouette of the man with advanced armor staring down at him. His gaze alone made Saiban bend his knee bowing down before the throne, the man before him could end existence with a wave of his hand.

Sweat dripped down his face as his lord spoke, "Saiban, do you know why exactly I recruited you?" Eon's voice seemed to resonate throughout the throne room, to such a degree that it felt to the dual hair colored man.

"N-not exactly. I assume you want to make use of my knowledge to destroy the system that old man had created." Forcing himself to sound as weak as possible, Saiban made sure to appease his master.

The next pleasant words spoken by the time traveler shook the kneeling man to his core, "Yes, that is correct. I intend to use you for my own means, but I do not want the Gotei." Eon's voice became cold and cruel.

"I want you to help me shoot down the heavens. The road to a world ruled by unchanging and uncompromising justice is pathed with blasphemy."
