I can win....somehow I can fight him..!!
These were the exact thoughts running in Max's head. Max was always weaker compared to his older brother. But he always knew that he was a good martial artist. But it wasn't anything in the range of something that these inhuman beings in front of him could. He could never jump three meters above, he couldn't run fast like them. Even Lin was so impressive.
And Max was also one of the most average martial artists ever. But now suddenly with his new power of his left arm, he felt invincible. He just stopped the sword , that the Samurai swung at him. Or rather at Melissa. The same sword was capable of cutting an entire wall a little while ago, but couldn't even put a little scratch on his left arm. Since the hand looked like the night sky, Max, in his head, began calling it "The Universe". A simple, but effective naming scheme.
Max: Haha....how do you like me now...!!
With an evil grin on his face, Max talked back to the Samurai. He completely deflected the sword and pushed him away. The Samurai landed a few feet away from him looking rather confused. He was baffled on what just happened.
Max knew he was blind, but there has to be some way he was "looking" at them. Max knew that there were a few people in the real world who claimed to be capable of sensing aura. Max couldn't vouch for their authenticity, but he knew that with these inhuman amounts of strength that the Samurai was producing it might be possible. There has to be some way, even if it wasn't scientific, that he was seeing.
Lin, on the far corner of the room was also shocked at this sudden display of power from Max. Lin was struggling to win against the Samurai just a few seconds ago. And the wimp, that was ready to die, was the one saving Melissa now. Melissa meanwhile had stopped for a second, but then she turned back and started running again.
The Samurai got up on his feet, and he raised his sword again.
Samurai: Yeah. I have no idea what your arm is made of, but I can sense that the strange stuff is only on your left chest and arm. Anywhere else looks to be normal.
Max was shocked that he could sense even his left chest which was covered with cloth. It was as he predicted. The Samurai can somehow sense everything.
Max: Yo buddy, I have no idea why you are after a little girl. But that just sounds like villain behaviour to me. If you wanna attack her.....you need to go through me..!!
Max stated this while looking at the Samurai in the eye. Well, atleast his blindfold. The Samurai just listened for a second and he whispered something to himself .
Samurai: A villain huh...?
The Samurai gave a little smile to himself, creeping out Max and Lin. That felt out of character for him, even though Max met him just a minute ago. Max had hoped that him saying that he needs to go through him, would strike fear in him, but the Samurai looked ready.
Max lucked out last time as his left arm was coincidentally where he was slashing her, or else he might've been dead. And he had no idea how he was gonna attack now.
The Samurai swiftly moved through the hallway at an incredible speed and immediately went for Max. He wasn't going after Melissa which was great, but unfortunately, Max was in mortal danger. Lin had gotten up to save him, but he was too slow.
The Samurai's blade was almost there. Max could usually see normal humans' attacks whenever he went for tournaments, but no one he faced possessed this much speed.
And immediately when Max believed there was no way he could keep up with the speed, the blue rings of his eyes, began glowing. It was as if time had slowed down , to Max.
The Samurais blade was drawing near and it seemed like something a normal person would do. It wasn't that the Samurai had become slow, but due to his eyes seeing everything and his own body reacting to the data his brain recieved, Max was moving faster than usual.
Max easily blocked the Samurai again with his left palm, shocking the Samurai yet once again.
Samurai: Perhaps I underestimated you. You are strong...
Max felt like smiling at this remark, but he shouldn't lose focus as that would mean he could die. One wrong move and he would die. So Max focused on the fight, and the Samurai started using faster attacks and kept swinging his blade. But Max used his left palm to stop all the attacks, sometimes even using his forearm. After blocking about five consecutive hits, Max became confident. He immediately put his right hand into his pockets and grinned. This was a taunt, hoping he would give enough time for both Melissa and Lin to escape.
But the Samurai was still calm. Instead of lashing out aggressively he just jumped up again. He looked forward and saw the girl running. She was a few meters away from the gang and she wasn't looking back. Max also turned to see her location, but before he could turn, the Samurai did something unthinkable.
Instead of going after Melissa, Lin or Max, he had used his brain to make sure none leave. He was still in the air, but he pointed the tip of his sword towards the very ground everyone were standing on.
Samurai: Dionus Impact!!
Screaming out something that sounded like a finishing move, he came down at breakneck speed and the tip of the sword completely went through the ground, sending shockwaves throughout the hallway.
Cracks appeared everywhere, giving out a huge shattering sounds. It didn't help that this was a narrow hallway, as the sound echoed and made it hard to hear stuff. Melissa screamed as she fell down and Lin got up to chase after her. But the Samurai was not having it.
Samurai: Not so fast..!!
He had turned towards Lin and tried attacking him and Lin stopped him using his own blade. For a moment they looked equally powerful. But the moment they landed, the ground gave away.
Max couldn't stand still as he lost his foothold. The entire floored shattered into a million pieces and the floor gave away. Everything started falling down and Max turned to see what lied ahead. Melissa on the far side of the non existent hallway was also falling, screaming at this unexpected outcome. Max noticed that the fall was very long, almost a fifty meter fall. There was no way he was going to survive it.
Melissa used her string powers from her fingertips and caught on to a wall and slowly lowered herself as she was still unsafe from the falling debris.
Max turned to look at the other two men and they both were on opposite sides of the wall, falling down. But the Samurai used his sword to pierce it on the wall to slow his fall. Lin noticed it and did the same with his own blade.
But unfortunately Max was in the middle of the hallway, and far away from both sides of the wall and falling to his miserable death. Melissa wasn't close enough to help him, and the other two were too high to catch him. As usual, he was the only unlucky one.
Max: Oh, come on!!!
AND Max fell to his death.
THUD!!

"I love you...Max.."
Again...a woman's voice started ringing in his head.
