"What the hell is going on here?"
The air shifted again.
Before Athena could speak, the door pushed open once more. Kraven stepped inside, his presence as sharp as steel.
His gaze swept the room, pausing at Dr. Gary and then at Xavier's stiff form. His lips pressed into a thin line.
"Why…," Kraven said, his voice deep and edged with irritation, "...is there such an uncomfortable silence?" He raised a brow, his tone sharpening as his eyes fixed on Athena. "And what the hell is this? Why are two other men invited here? I wasn't informed there'd be more company."
The tension thickened, pressing against Athena like a weight. She straightened her back, ready to speak, while Xavier's piercing gaze didn't waver from her face.
Athena's brows furrowed. "Why are you both standing there glaring at me as if I've committed a crime?"
