Athena's hands curled into fists, her pulse hammering with indignation. She shot to her feet, glaring at both brothers.
"What do you think I am? A noob?" Her voice cut through the air like a blade, startling even Sarah and Gina who had been waiting just outside. "Do you even know who you're talking to?"
Both Alphas stiffened, unused to being challenged this way.
Xavier's brows drew together, his deep voice warning yet tinged with disbelief. "Athena…"
But she didn't let him finish. Her eyes burned with defiance as she looked between them.
"I am a doctor. A healer in this world. I've trained my entire life to face diseases worse than this. Do you think I came all the way here to play dress-up in your kingdom and live like some kept prisoner? If there's a chance I can help Sarah's brother, then I will and you won't stop me with your arrogant growls and childish possessiveness."
