Can they tell I'm human?
Athena tugged her sleeves down self consciously, wishing she could shrink into herself. She didn't belong here.
Not in this room full of wolves who healed fast, who fought battles with claws and teeth, who could sniff out weakness from a mile away.
What should I do? Should I say something?
Her gaze darted to the far corner where Gina stood with Sarah. Sarah had her usual wide grin plastered on her face, eyes sparkling with something Athena couldn't read.
Gina, on the other hand, caught her panicked look and immediately gave her a reassuring smile… warm, encouraging, a little boost of strength that Athena desperately clung to.
"Everyone," Gina's voice rang out, calm but firm. She stepped forward, gesturing toward Athena. "This is Athena. From today, she'll be joining the staff here. She's… still adjusting to our ways, so I expect all of you to guide her when necessary."
