His blood ran cold, he wanted to think of an excuse to get away.. no, rather he wanted to run away and boy did he try to, yet his body wouldn't move. She was talking to Nephis about that night before she turned to him, a smile on her face, the face his.. their mother shared.
"Thank you for back then, in all honesty if it wasn't for you well I'd be synthpaste on the street haha!"
He could feel all the hair on his body was stood up, why is he reacting like this? Is it because of the year he spent in the 1st nightmare? Is it because he had given up on her?
"Oh uh yeah it's no problem, my name's Sunless but everyone just calls me Sunny."
The conversation only went on for a bit longer before the fact was brought up that they were academy students, and eventually, somehow, and someway they all ended up with her number in their phone. Well, not him, he didn't have a phone. Waving bye he could only stare at her back, something that he regrets to say for a moment forgot about. That's it.. he felt guilt, guilt for forgetting about the ties he had. The ties who made him who he was back then.

It was long past 12 am and they only had 3 days left before they head to the dream realm. He knew none of them were asleep, he was on the left side of the bed, his back turnt to them while they were on the right. But for some reason he couldn't think of the dangers they would face, the possibility of losing their lives. Rather, he could only wonder if he had any right to make new connections knowing very well he very well may abandon them once again. It was a stupid thought, a thought he would have never had back then.
Then again he supposed he wasn't the same as he was back then, though at the same time he was. At his core he was him, whatever that entailed he had no clue. But what he did know was that in that core of him was selfishness. That's why he made a decision that would make sure he could never run away again.
"Can I tell you both about it.. my first nightmare that is."
He didn't get a response, could he be wrong and they were actually asleep? That was until a meek voice came.
"Are you sure?"
He didn't know what Cassie meant by that, it could have many meanings. It could be a simple polite gesture, or it could have something due to her aspect. There's so many possibilities that he co-
"Stop overthinking it and spit it out."
Nephis' voice was sharp, but he couldn't help but notice how different it was from the first time they met. That's right, didn't he already make a decision a long time ago to stay by their side? Taking a deep breath he finally spoke.
"I spent a year in my first nightmare.. something you already know. Though the body I was put in wasn't just some random one.. rather I was put in a body drastically different than mine...
I was put in the body of someone called Auro of the nine."
