Sunny began to run, his sword raised in the air, ready to slash the beast! Chopping off its head, it died instantly! What an easy win—it seems that lady luck was on his side after all. He can't wait to go to the kingdom and give the boy a stern talking to about leaving him so quickly. After that, he has to find a way to beat the nightmare and become a renowned awakened!
All of that, of course, was a lie—his last drifting thoughts of what could have been. His red hair now even redder, soaked with his blood. His left arm was torn off and slowly eaten in front of him, and his legs were crushed, his teeth shattered as he was treated like a bat, smacking into the rocks of the cave. The only reason he wasn't screaming out in pain was due to the shock he was in. Through his hair, now a waterfall of blood, he could see the beast approaching, a guttural chuckle rumbling in its throat. It had been a worthless, horrible, and utterly pitiful life. Though he didn't want pity, it was the first time in a while. The truth is, in this current moment, for the first time in years—
He wanted to live.

His limp body was now in the hand of the monstrosity, its jaw growing ever so close. He wondered if he had survived the 1st nightmare, what kind of awakened would he become? The possibilities were endless. He considered himself a canvas painted with black. Of course, black wasn't a bad color—it was the best color in his opinion. Though it was just even better when paired with other colors. He wondered what colors he would have had painted on his canvas. The maw of the beast opened wide as the top part of his body slowly entered. He wondered what his aspect was—after all, wasn't that the most important part of being an awakened? He doesn't know why, and he may never will, but in that moment all the emotions he was feeling slowly felt like they were fading. Like they were returning to a place farther away than the current him was. So, in his last moments, he decided to commit a selfish act. It felt as if he grabbed the strings of the emotions that were slowly being dragged away, and he yanked them back, taking something else with them. By the time he came back to his senses, he noticed that the abomination was screaming out in pain, its mouth gaping as it seemed hollow. Then he noticed as the waterfall of blood slowly settled down. Its teeth were gone—not shattered or broken, but gone. Then he felt a change in himself, or rather in his mouth. Sticking his tongue out in his mouth, he felt sharp teeth like a canine's in his mouth. Despite being covered in blood, hopefully his blood… he could feel them well. The teeth once in the abomination's mouth were now in his, though luckily it seemed they shrunk down to fit into his mouth. Sadly, though, the shock wore off, and the pain from his arm just came in. It happened instantly—he passed out. Whether it was from his body's desperate need to survive, he instinctively made another pull, but rather this time he made two pulls. One he could tell instantly was blood, as his body, which had lost a lot of blood, gained some color once more. The second being something he would guess were endorphins. How would he know what those were? Well, it was simply because of the huge drug problem in the outskirts—opioids, cocaine, you name it. No matter how many years pass, drugs will always be prevalent. He's even tried some once, of course not by choice. If he recalls correctly, it was during the time he managed to get his hands on food—someone laced some of it and took the rest after he was out of it. Those thoughts drifted away slowly as he saw the beast now looking much weaker and obviously in a great deal of agony. The problem was he was also exhausted, and just because he stole blood and endorphins doesn't change the fact his arm was currently bitten off. Surprisingly, though, his mind has never been clearer than in this moment. Grabbing the broken sword with his one remaining arm, he ripped some of the cloth from his shirt. Originally he would have done this to stop the blood, but he knew it would just be like putting pieces of paper to stop a river. That's why he instead tied the broken sword to his severed arm, the hilt digging into the very meat of it. A true and utter snarl appeared on his face. He charged at it, not giving it a chance to take the first move. It slashed at him with its ragged claw, but now it was much slower—only a swat compared to what it once was. He knew the sword wouldn't be able to do much damage, after all since it was tied down, he couldn't truly apply force. But that was fine, since he had a plan. Circling around it, causing it to jump after him in different directions over and over, he eventually lured it into the cave they stayed in. Due to its immense height, it had to crouch down even more, bringing its head close by. Despite its intelligence, just like a human, once in pain they lose all reasoning. Now trapped together, Sunny let out a scream that sounded more like a roar—maybe it was a placebo effect due to his now monstrous teeth. The same monstrous teeth he used to bite into the neck of the abomination, thrusting the sword attached to his arm through its eye, breaking through and killing it.
