Chapter 1 - "Cursed Fangs"

In a world where blood rains like stormwater, the weak are forbidden from tasting happiness... but the silent is not deaf.

A boy with red eyes, pitch-black hair, and a face cold as ice... his name is Yamato.

He stands in the middle of a long street, coldly staring at a massive building surrounded by tight security.

Yamato: "So… this is the school."

Without giving any attention to the people waiting around him, he walks straight to the director's office and sits firmly in front of him.

Director: "So… you're Yamato. The one who wants to awaken his Mark, right?"

Yamato: "Yes… but I have a question."

Director: "Go ahead."

Yamato: "Why do you train people to fight vampires? Aren't they extinct?"

The director hesitates for a moment, and something disturbing flashes in his eyes, as if the question touched a buried secret.

Yamato calmly rises from his seat, saying:

Yamato: "Sorry… I'm going to sleep."

He leaves for his apartment, but his mind remains occupied...

"If there's anyone who knows the truth in this world… he's hiding it."

---

The next day, Yamato wakes up energized, determined to complete his mission successfully.

Yamato (to himself): "No room for mistakes... this mission must be perfect. It's the last chance… for an entire bloodline."

He heads to the training grounds, where his eyes fall upon a group who have already finished their training and awakened their Marks.

One of them walks toward him and stops him.

Trainee: "Yamato Zeno... I was tasked with giving you this schedule. It's the training program for Mark Awakening."

Yamato: "Thank you."

The trainee smiles gently... and here lies the disaster.

Yamato smiles back, revealing his sharp and long fangs—enough to strike fear into the bravest fighters.

The trainee's pupils widen, and his face shifts into sheer terror.

(Trainee thinking): "Impossible… it can't be… he's a vampire!"

He suddenly attacks, but Yamato blocks the strike easily.

From the other side, a second trainee rushes in and cuts off Yamato's head with his sword.

Yamato's body stumbles back slowly, kneels to the ground, then picks up his blood-soaked head with a cold hand and puts it back in place.

Silence falls over the hallway.

Their hearts beat rapidly, sweat pours down their foreheads, and the air becomes heavy.

Yamato (coldly): "Why do I always end up surrounded by idiots? I should've completed the mission without revealing myself… unfortunately."

The two charge at him again… but in a blink, Yamato vanishes before their eyes without a sound.

And by the time they realize he's gone… their heads are already gone with him.

---

Yamato walks with steady steps over blood-stained ground, heading toward the director's office.

He knocks gently.

Director: "Come in."

Yamato opens the door and enters, his eyes sharp and face as still as ice.

A strange feeling pierces the director's chest… he stands from his chair in shock:

(Thinking): "No way… Yamato?!"

The director unleashes a massive aura, felt by trainees across the entire building.

He strikes the air, creating shockwaves that destroy half the building.

Director: "Partial Erasure!"

They face each other amid the rubble.

The director stares at Yamato, who stands atop the debris, his hand glowing with a strange energy... not human energy.

Raif – a power possessed only by vampires.

Yamato (laughing): "Do you think I need your training to become stronger?"

Director: "Then… why do you seek to awaken the Mark?"

Yamato: "For reasons that concern me alone."

He charges like a flash, slashing the director's face and robbing him of sight forever.

Yamato (to himself): "I'm… getting closer and closer."
