Inside, an older woman sat in a rocking chair, gently stirring a pot on the stove, while a little girl with big brown eyes and curly hair played at her feet with a wooden doll. The little girl looked up, her eyes widening with excitement as she spotted Rell.
"Rell!" she squealed, jumping up and running to hug Rell's legs.
Rell laughed, scooping the little girl into a big hug. "Hey, girl! How's my favorite helper doing?"
The older woman smiled, her eyes twinkling warmly. "She's been a big help, Rell. We've kept busy."
Aedric's eyes met Rell's, a question in them. She smiled softly. "Aedric, this is my grandmother, Eldira, and my little sister, Lora."
Eldira's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she looked Aedric up and down, while Lora hid shyly behind Rell's skirts, peeking out.
Aedric smiled gently. "It's nice to meet you both."
"Well, it's about time my Rell brought a man home," Eldira said with a grin.
