"Who are you?" she asked.
I am you. I am your wolf. Nymeria. I am here and I will wake fully soon, so we can be together always.
She turned to Thornak, her eyes growing wide.
"I heard her," she said. "She spoke to me."
Thornak looked concerned. "You heard who?"
"My wolf. She said her name is Nymeria. She's… there."
Thornak stilled, as if the breath had left his lungs.
"Nymeria?" he asked softly. "You have a wolf?"
Jax stirred inside him, uneasy but thrilled.
She is here. Our equal. Her wolf lives. Nymeria… I like the name. Can we talk to her?
Thornak pushed him back, forcing his focus to Lara. He cupped her face, his thumb brushing away a tear that had appeared on her cheek.
Then he growled with excitement.
At that moment, Lara felt a pull inside her so deep, so primal, that it tore through her veins like fire.
