Neris' POV
Uhmm, okay—well, I didn't know why this waitress was acting all weird, but what can I say? Even I found it hard not to be attracted to myself. I'm just irresistible.
I'm not going to lie though—she looked adorable, acting the way she was right now. I couldn't help but smirk. At least my visit to this bar wasn't as boring as I thought it would be. I came here to dig up a few things about this Kya lady and decide what's next. Maybe I could ask this waitress—the one who's been tending to me ever since I sat down.
The place was crowded, full of bodies pressing against each other, the air heavy with sweat, alcohol, and too much noise. I sat off in the corner. That's one thing about me—I like the dark. My drink in hand, I vibed slowly to the music, eyes drifting across the room. Every so often, I caught that waitress stealing glances at me whenever she passed by.
I'm not going to lie, she was a good-looking woman. She had striking features—her eyes sparkled when she spoke to someone, her nose was delicate, her lips full with a small beauty mark above them. Unique. Beautiful.
She gave off that energy I was all too familiar with—witch aura, but also something more. I tried hard to pinpoint it, yet whatever magic was concealing the other side was incredibly strong.
I felt like I needed to know her more—and I would. I love beautiful things. I'm a queen, after all, and a queen deserves the best. Plus, she might just help me learn more about Kya. Maybe even show me a picture of her.
My bodyguards were stationed all around, each in their usual role. None touched alcohol—one nursed juice, another pretended to play pool. I hated moving with so many people, but being who I am, I didn't have a choice. Leaders have enemies, and enemies strike when you least expect it. Still, every single one of them knew damn well I could handle myself. I could kill everyone in this place by simply snapping my fingers. And yet—here we were.
I didn't realize my drink was finished until when the waitress reappeared before me, her eyes questioning.
"Yes?" I asked calmly.
"Your drink is done."
"Oh, I see." I chuckled lightly, and I swear I saw her cheeks turn pink.
"Do you want some more, or are you done?"
"Uhm, I think I'm done for now."
"Ohk," she pouted.
"I'd love to have a word with you. Is that okay?" I inquired.
"Yes, it is… just, you know, I'm on duty and—" She scratched the back of her neck nervously.
"It's okay. I'm in no rush. I can wait."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Okay then… but you can't just sit here without having anything."
"Bring me whatever this was," I said, nodding towards my empty glass.

Xavier's POV
"Uhm, so what you mean is that those panther shifters attacked Kya because they wanted to confirm something about her?" I asked, puzzled, because whatever Jeremy was telling me wasn't adding up.
"Yes… or maybe they already knew something about her," Jeremy answered.his tone holding a hint of doubt
"This sounds weird, but what would they even want from her?"
"I don't know."he looked uneasy
"I'm going to have a talk with her mum today."
"Are you insane? How are you even going to get to her?"
"You gotta be kidding me. She's just any other normal person—it's not like she's unreachable," I replied with a confident smirk.
"No, no, no… please don't tell me what I'm thinking is what you're actually gonna do."
"Yes, we're going to pay her a visit. Right now."like yeah no waiting
"Xavier! What if Kya finds out?"
"She won't, dumbass. We'll be swift and clean," I assured him.
"If you say so…"
"And yooo, man, can't you see? She's my mate. It's okay for me to know."because the fuck it's my right .
"Oh, fuck me—I knew it." He gave me the most disgusted look he had in stock.like he was already regretting being part of this .
"what"I grinned
Kya was the main thing right now. Ever since I met her, everything around here somehow revolved around her. I still had a few question marks, but I knew they'd probably be answered by Kya's mother. Yeah… I feel like she's the only one who can tell me what's up with this strange fascinating lady—being a witch and a lycan at the same time, and maybe even more.

Kya's POV
So here we were, seated and just staring at each other. Well, what can I say—should I go first? Ahhh, the bar was already closed. Man, I still couldn't believe she had waited this long. We were sitting outside, streetlights flashing against her face. Damn, the woman was pretty. That much I couldn't deny.
"Uhm… so, what's your name?" she asked.
Damn, her voice was raspy in that damn good way.
"Kya."
"Kya, is it?" she repeated after me. Damn, my name felt so right on her tongue, like it was meant to be said by her. Trust me, I'm not exaggerating—that was for sure.
"And what's yours?" I asked, staring right at her. That made her glance away at the streets, like I had asked something too personal. I didn't push, just waited for her reply while I pulled out my cigarettes.
"Want a puff?" I said, offering one. Surprisingly, she took it.
"So, you're a smoker?" I asked, switching the topic. As I lit my cigar.
"Once in a while." She lit hers from mine, her eyes locked on me so deeply, it felt like she had come for my soul. Our cigarettes touched.
"You're a witch." The words came out soft and smooth. It wasn't a question—it was an answer.
"What do you mean? Is it written all over me?" I teased.
"You have it in your blood, your soul, and your body."
"And what are you," I asked, curiosity gnawing at me, "to sense all that?".
"Me." She pointed at herself with a raised brow.
"Yes, you".
"..."
I see you're keeping a lot of everything to yourself.
"So what next, Miss No Name?" I teased, which made her give a soft chuckle. Damn, she even looked more gorgeous when she smiled.
"I'm Neris," she finally said. And with that she stood up and left
