For many players who are easily scared, this game, Resident Evil: Village, is a nearly perfect work.
It isn't too scary for players, but it also doesn't become just an action shooter. It strikes a very good balance, making it very comfortable for many players to experience.
Especially the noble lady and her daughter in the first level provided plenty of fun for those with "dirty minds," letting them have their fill.
At this very moment, Ben is feeling very excited.
"Boss Lucas is so good at this! This peeking perspective makes me feel like I'm a criminal."
Inside the game, the noble lady sits at a fancy dressing table, reporting the situation to Mother Miranda.
And outside the window, a pair of shifty eyes are staring at her.
Ben, controlling Ethan, carefully peeks through the window gap, watching the noble lady's graceful figure inside.
The dressing table and her stool are just so big!
"Mother Miranda, I regret to inform you that Ethan Winters escaped from that fool Heisenberg."
"Because he is in my castle, and my daughters couldn't handle him! If I find him..."
The noble lady holds the phone, suppressing her anger.
"No... Mother Miranda, yes, of course I understand the importance of the ritual. I will absolutely not disappoint you."
Hanging up the phone, the noble lady sits in silence for a while, then suddenly stands up, grabs the dressing table, and directly lifts it up before smashing it aside.
"To hell with the ritual! I will definitely make that wretched man pay..."
Watching the noble lady leave the room angrily, Ben can't help but gasp.
If she hit Ethan with that much strength, wouldn't it be like an adult hitting a child?
After confirming that she had left, Ben sneaks into the room. A string of keys hangs on a lamp in the corner, but he doesn't know what doors they open yet.
He pockets the keys and Ben prepares to open the door and look around for anything else to collect.
However, the moment he opened the door.
"Holy crap!" Ben shouts.
A huge figure bends down and enters the doorway. It's the noble lady who had just left.
She grabs Ethan with one hand.
"Found you!"
"It's all for some brat who isn't even here!"
"Ungrateful scum!"
"Sneaking into my home, and you dare to touch my daughters with your dirty hands!"
"And now you want to steal my things, you're incredibly bold!"
Grabbing Ethan, the noble lady fully displays her violent strength, forcefully throwing Ethan to the ground and smashing through the floor.
With a crash, accompanied by Ethan's scream, he falls directly into the basement.
"Rest as much as you want! I will show you what fear is, and then I will completely destroy you!"
Listening to the noble lady's voice in his ear, Ethan also defiantly says: "Bring it on, who's afraid of whom?"
He looks up at the hole above, shakes his head, takes out his gun, and surveys the basement. It looks like a storage area beneath the castle, with a narrow space filled with messy items and it's a maze.
But what makes Ben slightly relieved is that the basement isn't very dark. There's a kerosene lamp at almost every corner, which is actually quite considerate.
Wandering around in the basement, Ben finally finds an iron gate, similar to the one he entered before arriving at the castle.
Creak... groan...
Ethan reaches for the lever with his right hand and pushes with all his might.
"Wait, what's that sound? Footsteps!?" Ben, who was pushing the iron gate, is slightly stunned because he hears heavy footsteps, but he didn't encounter any monsters in this basement before, so who is making these footsteps?
Before he can even turn around, a flash of cold light appears in the next second, and then Ethan's arm is severed.
He turns his head and sees the noble lady standing there with a sinister smile, holding five blade-like sharp objects that look like nails.
That strike had just severed his right wrist, and blood gushes from the wound.
"Did you think I'd let you escape? I'm going to rip you to shreds! Don't dream of seeing that child!"
Accompanied by the noble lady's angry roar, the chase begins again.
In the narrow basement, dragging his severed hand, Ben flees frantically, filled with despair.
"Holy crap, first the left hand was gone, now the right hand! What kind of bad karma did Ethan accrue!"
Did you think it was bad enough that he lost two fingers before, got shot in the knee, had his stomach stabbed by a strong person, had his blood sucked by the first lady, and had the joints of his hands and knees pierced by hooks?
The reality is that this is nothing. Now they are replaying a scene of physical separation, with the right hand being the target this time instead of the left from the previous game.
And with his right hand gone, Ben realizes he can't use his weapons, nor can he use hand sanitizer.
Leading the noble lady around the basement, he demonstrates a masterful "Shin King绕柱" (a wrestling move) maneuver. During this, he even picks up his severed right hand, which is utterly absurd.
After retrieving his hand, Ethan awkwardly pushes the gate again. But at this moment, the noble lady reappears and hits him with a claw, turning the screen red. He is clearly on the verge of death, scaring him into a panicked, blind escape.
Finally, he goes through the basement stairs and arrives at a circular platform scene, similar to an elevator in a soulslike game. He removes the sculpture in the center.
Boom... With a rumble, the elevator slowly begins to ascend, leaving only the noble lady's furious curses behind.
"My hand... can it be saved?"
Ben looks at his severed hand, feeling a pang of despair.
He lost two fingers before, and he thought they would grow back, but they are still missing. Now his right hand is gone.
While Ben is in despair, he sees Ethan in the game use his left hand, with only three fingers remaining, to pull out a bottle of hand sanitizer.
Splash, he pours the hand sanitizer on his severed right arm, then takes out the right hand he just retrieved, and aligns it with the severed wound and attaches it.
Then he twists it left and right. Just like that, as the circular elevator ascends to the castle's central plaza, his wrist is fixed.
Except for the traces of the break that can be seen on his clothes, the hand looks as good as new.
"What is this? What is this? This is too much!" Ben is dumbfounded. He had thought Ethan would reattach his hand later because how else would he use weapons without hands?
But he never expected it to be done this way.
This is a real medical miracle!
Healing with hand sanitizer is one thing, but hand sanitizer can also reattach a severed hand?
In the previous game, at least he used a stapler to nail it back on!
