Liam's pov
The chill of the night seeped into my bones as I leaned against the wooden porch railing of the pack house, staring into the thick woods that surrounded our territory. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was coming, something darker than the whispers and unrest brewing among the pack.
Julian was beside me, silent for once, his usual sharp retorts replaced by a grim expression. We'd been summoned by a stranger, someone claiming to have information about Pecan. And while I wasn't in the mood to entertain wild stories, something about the urgency in the message kept me rooted here, waiting.
"You think this hunter is legit?" I finally asked, breaking the silence.
Julian shrugged, his eyes scanning the tree line. "Does it matter? If he knows something about why the rogues are targeting Pecan, we need to hear it."
