Chapter 90 - A Stunned Cedric

At this moment, although many people were very interested in joining Fairy Tail after seeing the recruitment notice, many still didn't understand what the guild was all about.

They had only ever heard of clubs formed by professors at school, but they had never heard of an organization like a guild. The notice was also written in a strange way. Besides saying that they could learn powerful magic, there was no other useful information, and it was a bit sappy.

But Victor felt there was nothing he could do about it. His writing skills were limited, so he could only rack his brains to write something a bit chuunibyou-ish. Otherwise, the whole announcement would seem very bland and not cool enough.

However, unlike the confused young wizards around them, Harry and Ron knew some of the inside story.

"Speaking of which, we helped out in the Room of Requirement for so long, and we still don't know what this guild is for!" Ron said with a bit of resentment.

"Are you going to join?" Harry turned to ask.

"Of course I am. You know how luxurious that place is!" Ron replied. "Although we were punished for breaking the school rules, I still had a part in it, didn't I? I want to enjoy it too!"

"You have a point!" Harry nodded in agreement.

And just as the young wizards were enthusiastically discussing Fairy Tail, Cedric suddenly received a message from a ghostly owl at the Quidditch pitch, telling him to go to the Room of Requirement opposite the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy on the eighth floor immediately.

Looking at the letter in his hand, Cedric found it strange that it was so sudden. He rushed to the location mentioned in the letter. As soon as he arrived in front of the tapestry on the eighth floor, he saw Hermione already waiting at the door.

"You're Cedric Diggory, right?" Hermione asked with a smile.

"Yes, that's me!" Cedric nodded.

"I'm Hermione Granger. You can just call me Hermione!" Hermione introduced herself first, then turned and pushed open the door to the Room of Requirement. "Come with me, Victor is waiting for us inside!"

With that, she walked through the door.

Cedric followed behind her, feeling very confused. Was there a door here before? In his three years at Hogwarts, although he hadn't been to the eighth floor many times, he knew that this had only ever been a wall. With questions in his mind, Cedric slowly walked through the door, and an incredibly beautiful sight instantly came into view, leaving him stunned.

After a whole summer of construction and renovation, the Fairy Tail guild headquarters was 100% complete, and all the facilities had been installed.

As soon as you entered, the first thing you saw was a huge plaza with a marble fountain in the middle. The fountain's pool was home to some ordinary fish caught from the Black Lake. Most of the plaza was a lush green lawn, separated by gray stone paths. There were also many magical creatures that Victor had caught from the Forbidden Forest, such as Puffskeins, Nogtails, and fairies, roaming on the lawn.

Looking up, the towering ceiling was charmed with the same magic as the Great Hall's, only more complete and beautiful. The ceiling of the headquarters could change according to the actual time of day and night. At night, you could even enjoy a view of the Milky Way. Of course, if you wanted clouds, rain, thunder, or lightning, you could have them, but Victor didn't really like that. Living in a gloomy place would make a person depressed!

"This is our guild headquarters!" Hermione said, showing no surprise at Cedric's shocked expression, and began to introduce the basic situation of the headquarters. "That three-story wooden house in the distance is called Fairy's Abode. The smaller house next to it is the kitchen. These are the places where guild members can rest, socialize, and hold meetings."

"The first floor of the Fairy's Abode is the lounge area, the second floor is Victor's office and the conference room, and the third floor is for members to rest in."

As they walked, they arrived in front of the Fairy's Abode. Hermione pointed to the two houses in the distance and continued, "That round building is the library, and the red square house behind it is the material storage area. Victor has put almost every book he could find in the library. By an incomplete count, there are over eleven thousand volumes."

In addition to these, Hermione also briefly introduced the other areas of the guild headquarters to Cedric.

To the right of the Fairy's Abode were the gym and the infirmary. The gym had all the necessary fitness equipment, such as treadmills, dumbbells, and so on. The infirmary, as the name suggested, was for healing, but it also had the function of a potion and herb research center.

Behind the Fairy's Abode was the training area, which was a huge plaza with a small house on the side. This area was mainly used for practicing magic or experimenting with alchemical items.

The last remaining area was the battle arena, a large stage where internal guild conflicts were resolved.

Just as Hermione finished introducing the basic structure of the guild headquarters to Cedric, Victor walked out of the Fairy's Abode. He looked at Cedric, who was still in shock, and waved. "Since you're here, don't just stand there! Come in!"

On the first floor of the Fairy's Abode, Hermione and Cedric sat on the new sofas. Victor made two cups of sweet, hot milk tea for them, then looked at the person who still hadn't recovered and asked, "Cedric, what do you think of the guild?!"

"Oh… to be honest, I don't think I deserve to be drinking tea in this place…" Cedric blinked and replied, a bit dazed.

"Haha, I spent a lot of effort building this entire guild headquarters. If I couldn't even shock you to this extent, then I would have to tear it down and rebuild it!" Victor's face was full of pride. He then took a comfortable sip of his milk tea, put down his teacup, and began to talk about serious matters. "Hermione, Cedric! You are the first members of Fairy Tail, so I have decided that the position of Vice-Master will be temporarily held by you two!"

"Wait a minute, Master!" Victor had only said one sentence before he was interrupted by Cedric. For some reason, he had instantly gotten into character and changed the way he addressed Victor. "Can I ask, what is the purpose or goal of our guild?"

"Well… the name Fairy Tail originally meant endless adventure," Victor said slowly, a ripple of nostalgia unconsciously appearing in his eyes. "However, I thought about it, and that meaning doesn't seem very appropriate here. In fact, you guys don't know this, but 95% of all the new reform measures that Hogwarts has implemented this term were proposed by me."

"So you're the culprit!" Cedric said in shock. "If that news gets out, the students at school will tear you to shreds!"

"They'll have to be able to beat me first!" Victor shrugged, showing he didn't care, and continued, "In reality, the purpose of me forming Fairy Tail is to reform Hogwarts and completely overthrow the pure-blood supremacy ideas in the wizarding world. But you probably wouldn't understand the specifics of this even if I told you now. So, just wait until the guild is on the right track, and you'll slowly figure it out!"

"Master, why do I feel like you're starting to look more and more like the Dark Lord?" Cedric said, suddenly giving him a strange look and complaining.

"Why would I do something like that? Do you think it's glorious?!" Victor rolled his eyes, then changed the subject. "By the way, how's your magic circle learning coming along? Show me!"

With that, he saw Hermione and Cedric naturally take out their wands, and he reminded them again: "Without using your wands!"

"Huh? Why not?!" Hermione asked, confused.

"You're too reliant on your wands, which is why your bodies haven't been able to completely remember how to draw the magic circle runes!" Victor said, tapping Hermione on the head. "You two, try a water-type basic magic circle!"

He then pushed two empty cups in front of them. The two of them had no choice but to put down their wands and start casting the magic based on the feeling of their usual practice. A moment later, both cups were filled with water, and a lot of water droplets were spilled on the table. It took Hermione 41 seconds, and it took Cedric 27 seconds.

"The time has doubled!" Victor sighed and put away his pocket watch. "I'm giving you two a task: compress this time to two seconds within a month! There's a Magic Power Gathering Array in the training area behind the guild. The magic there is rich, which can speed up your training!"

"Magic power?! Master, what is magic power?" Cedric asked, raising his hand.

"Oh, that's right, I haven't explained that concept to you yet!" Victor said, patting his head. In fact, during the summer holidays, while he was teaching Hermione, he was surprised to find that she couldn't sense magic power.

This brought a problem that he had been neglecting to the surface.

That was, the wizards in the Harry Potter world didn't have a concept of "magic power." It might be because the magic power was too pure. For people like Hermione, who had grown up in this world since childhood, the raw magic of this world was as natural as air and water and had already become one with their lives.

Therefore, the natives of the Harry Potter world didn't feel that the raw magic power was anything special, and it was difficult for them to sense it, unless the amount was huge.
