~Annalyn POV~
I was still panting, chest rising and falling rapidly the sound of water in the bathroom faucet continued, splashing, echoing. My body had not yet calmed, but outside the door the wind shifted... low and pressing like an omen.
At the same time, somewhere else....
Camila was driving, the night road lined with dim, flickering streetlights, suddenly, a figure stood in front of her car that she slammed the brakes instantly. Tires screeched, grinding against the ground. The steering wheel shook violently, her forehead hit against it, a sharp sting burst in her eyes.
She looked up... and the face before her made her blood rush with fury.
"Armand!" She threw open the car door, storming out, voice sharp and furious. "Are you insane? Trying to kill me?"
Armand stood in the glare of her headlights, gaze cold but desperate.
"You haven't been answering my calls."
Camila let out a bitter laugh, fingers pressing the bruise on her forehead, eyes burning.
