"You have to be in the same team as Ying. Please, let me be in the same team as Ying..."

In the Ninja Academy classroom, Ino clasped her hands together in a prayer-like gesture, whispering as if calling on divine intervention.

"You're exaggerating, Ino," Sakura said with a chuckle.

Maybe it was because they knew they'd be split up soon, but Sakura and Ino were surprisingly getting along well today.

"It's not exaggerated at all! If I don't get on the same team as Ying-kun, *someone else* will. And that person might fall for him first."

Ino had heard from her mom that plenty of ninjas fall in love with their squadmates over time.

"Oh, I see..."

Sakura glanced toward the back row where ying Uchiha Ying was sitting beside Hinata.

To be honest... does Hinata like Ying too? Just like Ino?

"Sakura, look!"

*Pop!*

Just as the girls chatted while waiting for their new Jonin instructors, a sudden commotion exploded in the classroom.

Naruto, tired of Sasuke's aloofness, leapt onto the table to confront him. But in a twist of fate, someone bumped Naruto from behind—and he ended up accidentally kissing Sasuke.

And not just a peck—they were lip-locked. Firmly.

"Eeeeh?! Naruto! You actually kissed Sasuke!"

Chaos erupted.

All the girls who liked Sasuke immediately screamed and began hurling abuse at Naruto.

"So Sasuke... likes Naruto?" someone whispered.

A blushing little fujoshi sitting next to Ying covered her face with trembling fingers.

"This might just be destiny..."

Even ying Uchiha Ying was a bit stunned.

Naruto's first kiss with Sasuke still happened today. Hilarious.

"Quiet down!"

Iruka finally entered the room, his voice sharp with authority.

"From now on, you'll be grouped into squads of three, each under the guidance of a Jonin instructor..."

As the classroom settled, Iruka began reading the team assignments.

"...Team 7: Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and Naruto Uzumaki!"

Two burdens dropped on me.

Sasuke internally sighed.

Yes! I'm on the same team as Sasuke! But... Naruto too? Ugh. Wait—does Sasuke *really* like Naruto?

Sakura shuddered, thinking about Sasuke's constant coldness toward her and the fact that Naruto had been walking to school with him lately.

No. Absolutely not. That kiss was just an accident!

"Hmph. At least Sasuke gets to be with Ying..." Naruto muttered.

"What? No! Ying is supposed to be in *my* team!" Naruto jumped up.

"Naruto, go bother Sasuke. Stay away from my Ying!" Ino shouted, waving her fists.

Sakura already got her wish. That left—

"Team 8: ying Uchiha Ying, Shino Aburame, and Hinata Hyingga... Team 10: Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara, and Choji Akimichi."

"...Oh no..."

Ino slumped in despair.

"Hinata and I are in the same team as Ying...?"

Hinata's face turned bright red. Her heart pounded so hard she thought she might faint.

Did I just use up all my luck?

Still... being in the same team as Hinata and Shino wasn't bad.

ying Uchiha Ying was mildly surprised but accepted the team selection without complaint.

"ying Uchiha... seems quite capable."

Shino Aburame stared thoughtfully at the bug crawling across his hand.

——

——

Three... very cute students.

Unlike the Jonin who liked to arrive fashionably late, Kurenai yinghi was the first to enter the classroom.

Looking at the three students lined up before her, she felt a tinge of pride.

A Hyingga, an Aburame, and a Uchiha.

If nurtured well, this team could go far.

And if she were being honest... all three were very much her "type" in terms of appearance.

Especially the Uchiha...

The Uchiha clan always had handsome boys.

Kurenai's first impression of her team was undeniably positive.

"And the sensei is really pretty too..."

ying Uchiha Ying found himself studying the beautiful teacher before him.

That bandage… is really holding up something *huge*. No, wait—what he meant was, her skin was fair, her voice mature, and her figure... elegant.

She was the perfect image of a classic beauty.

"Thank you," Kurenai said warmly.

Such a polite Uchiha. This kid really knows how to carry himself.

Her eyes moved to the shy and quiet Hinata and Shino beside him.

"Alright. Let's begin the survival drill. Whoever gets this bell from me will earn a reward."

*Ring ring ring*

The silver bells jingled as Kurenai held them up with a teasing smile.

She didn't plan to eliminate anyone—this was just to test their abilities.

——

——

[You've obtained: Ninja Fragment ×2]

Panting after the survival exercise, ying Uchiha Ying had accomplished his goal.

Unfortunately, the only fragments he got were from Hinata and Shino.

None from Kurenai.

It seemed neither side had taken the match seriously.

Hinata, meanwhile, had hurried home without even saying goodbye. Her legs pressed tightly together the whole time, as if she was hiding something in her pants.

ying had originally planned to chat with "Baby Hinata" a bit more...

"Oh well. Since you're the only one who touched the bell, here's your reward."

After watching Hinata and Shino leave, Kurenai smiled softly and called ying back.

Even though he hadn't activated his Sharingan yet, this boy had already outshone most of his peers.

Flawless substitution jutsu, a refined Fireball technique, Shadow Clone mastery...

Compared to Shino and Hinata, ying was a bright star.

No wonder teachers loved gifted students.

Kurenai realized she'd only just become a Jonin instructor, and she was already playing favorites.

"What's the reward?" ying asked with little enthusiasm. He still hadn't gotten a Kurenai fragment, so he wasn't particularly excited.

"What do you like?"

Long lashes, clear gaze, an expression that seemed to tease with every glance—

Kurenai couldn't help but flirt a little, curious about her cute student.

"I like a lot of things..." ying said, his mind drifting to Da Lei and Katsuhiko from Chunin tales.

"What do you like *most*?"

Bigger is better… but the small ones have their own charm too.

ying glanced again at Kurenai's chest. The bandages weren't hiding much.

Actually, the mid-range size is pretty great too.

"Bigger or smaller what?"

Despite being in her twenties, Kurenai was still somewhat naïve.

"Do you mean ninjutsu?"

"Uh... yeah, let's go with that."

"Too bad I don't know the Thunder technique. Guess I'll reward you this way instead."

She stepped forward, closing the distance until they were nearly nose-to-nose.

Then leaned in and gently kissed him on the forehead.

"Sorry, you're just too cute. I couldn't help myself."

"...Oh."

Damn it. He didn't even flinch?

This is a big sister's kiss! Where's the embarrassment!?

Looking at ying's completely unfazed expression, Kurenai felt a tiny pang of disappointment.

"Alright then. Be sure to study hard. Don't waste the potential your teacher sees in you."

She handed him a random ninja scroll, then quickly disappeared in a blur of movement—flustered and defeated.
