  Rumble... …

  Outside.

Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki and Hamura were locked in a brutal battle against their mother—Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.

  Inside.

Beneath a shattered mountain, Uchiha Ying, Naruto, and Sasuke stared at each other in silence.

  "I knew it! I knew this wasn't a dream!"

Naruto was excited for a moment… then instantly curled back in fear.

The bombardment outside continued relentlessly. Nobody could say when another one might land right on top of them—just like it did last night.

"Not a dream… but it shouldn't be real either. Otherwise..."

If this were real, they'd be dead already.

Sasuke didn't understand what this place really was, but it felt too real to be dismissed as a dream.

After all, even if you don't *really* die, dying still hurts like hell.

  "What do you think, Ying?"

Even though this guy's branch clan didn't awaken the Sharingan and seemed like a joke most of the time…

Sasuke still instinctively relied on Uchiha Ying to make calls when things got dicey.

"There's a task that popped up when I arrived."

  Total bluff.

Ying wasn't thinking about any mission. He was busy planning how to throw Naruto and Sasuke out as distractions, then use the chaos to collect ninja fragments in peace.

With the kind of apocalyptic battle going on outside, unless Naruto and Sasuke were secretly "Admiral Kizaru" and "Admiral Fujitora," they had no shot in hell.

Naruto didn't even have his paint bucket yet.

  Sasuke hadn't even mastered Chidori.

They couldn't even beat some leftover Sound Village grunts—let alone challenge gods.

So this mission—"Help Kaguya escape her fate of being sealed"—was just ridiculous.

  But...

  "Tasks mean rewards."

So forgive me, Sasuke. You're gonna have to suffer for my upgrades.

Besides, no one's really dying here.

Ying knew Sasuke's thirst for revenge meant he'd chase any chance to get stronger.

And "mission rewards" was exactly the bait he needed.

  "Completing the mission…?"

  Sasuke's eyes burned with hunger.

The people outside… they weren't just strong. They were monsters.

If he could become that powerful, he wouldn't have to wait any longer.

He could go kill Itachi *tonight*.

"Yeah, maybe completing the mission is the only way to escape this place."

Naruto had no clue what was going on, but he didn't want to seem clueless either.

So he nodded quickly in support.

"Good point. We're basically trapped here. If we don't complete the mission… the only way out might be death."

  Perfect wingman.

Ying nodded thoughtfully and threw out the next step.

"But with our current strength, we can't win by force. We'll have to rely on deception."

"First, let's get a sense of what each of us can actually do. For example—what's your best jutsu?"

  "..."

  "..."

  Silence.

None of them had even graduated from the Academy yet. What "best jutsu"?

"Fireball Jutsu," Sasuke finally muttered, face a little red.

"Transformation Jutsu… I guess," Naruto said, trying not to sound ashamed.

"…Alright. Here's the plan: I'll use Fire Style to create a distraction. Naruto, you use Transformation to turn into Kaguya and sneak in. Try to switch places with her."

Ying *could* use stronger fire-style techniques—he even developed Rasengan early.

But against what was outside, it was like throwing pebbles at a meteor.

So, he decided: just pretend he didn't know anything strong.

"But wouldn't we just end up dead anyway?"

Sasuke wasn't arguing, but he wasn't sold on the outcome.

"It's fine. Even if we die, we just reset. Try a few times, maybe we get lucky."

The odds of this plan working were probably lower than a worm dropkicking a tailed beast…

But if he didn't do something, he wouldn't earn any ninja fragments.

And hey—as long as the probability wasn't zero…

  "There's always a chance, right?"

  "Ying's right! Let's do it!"

"Yeah! We're not gonna die for real!"

  Naruto found his courage again.

  "…Alright."

Sasuke didn't have a better idea anyway.

But just as they were about to leave the cave and become cannon fodder—

A strange frog appeared in front of them.

  "Ah!?"

  Naruto jumped in shock.

  Sasuke stayed calm.

But Ying instantly recognized the little guy.

The Great Toad Sage—back when he was still just a young frog named Gamamaru.

"Hello, young ones. It's too dangerous here. Come with me—I'll take you to a safe place."

  "A talking frog?!"

  Naruto freaked.

  "Shut up, Naruto."

Sasuke frowned. "Are you a summon?"

"Not yet. No one's signed a contract with me," Gamamaru replied calmly.

  He glanced toward the battlefield.

Even though he didn't know why these three kids were here, he had to get them out.

If they stayed, it might interfere with Hagoromo and Hamura sealing their mother.

  "Where are you taking us?"

Ying was intrigued. A surprise encounter like this could only mean the copy still had twists.

"Would you like to go somewhere to learn Senjutsu?"

  Gamamaru asked enticingly.

  "Senjutsu?!"

"Is that the kind of jutsu those monsters are using?"

Naruto and Sasuke asked at the same time.

"More or less," Gamamaru said, sweating a little.

Of course, it was *nothing* like Six Paths-level powers.

But for now… he'd just wing it.

"Then what are we waiting for?! Let's go!"

Sasuke didn't hesitate—he grabbed the frog immediately.

  [Mission Failed]

  Copy Settlement: None

[Do you want to re-enter the dungeon?]

"…I did not expect it to go like this."

  Ying let out a sigh.

Gamamaru brought them all the way to Mount Myōboku, but never actually taught them anything.

Not because he didn't want to—but because there wasn't time.

After Kaguya was sealed by Hagoromo and Hamura, the copy forcibly ended.

And the three of them were kicked out.

  Total waste of time.

Not even one ninja fragment gained.

Ying wanted to punch a wall.

Next time… they were going to have to deal with that damn frog *before* going in.

"…Huh? Why is there another building here?"

Back in the Konoha-lookalike street, Ying had originally planned to chill at the Hokage Building…

But somehow, he'd wandered somewhere else.

A grand mansion, with a plaque that read:

  *Hyuga Clan*

[Current Action Points: 1/3 — Enter this scene?]

Ying pushed open the front gate.

Time to stir up a little chaos.
