The night was long… and filled with silence.
After bringing Kin back home from the cursed jungle, Vixen Sature and Shen Seizan kept a close watch on him—neither of them sleeping, barely blinking.
Vixen had tried multiple times to bring Kin back to his senses using his magical alpha pheromones, hoping Kin would regain consciousness. But Kin didn't wake up. Not even a flicker.
Tired, worn out, and emotionally drained, Vixen finally curled up beside Kin—wrapping his arms around him protectively. He held Kin close, whispering soft words, before sleep finally claimed him.
In another room, Shen sat alone.
Despite being rescued, his body ached—scratches and deep wounds covering him from head to toe. But the real pain wasn't physical. Shen kept replaying the nightmare of last evening… the cult, the blood, the demon.
His wounds wouldn't let him sleep peacefully. But his memories hurt even more.
---
The next morning, the sun filtered through the curtains softly.
Kin slowly opened his eyes—and the first thing he saw was Vixen's hand, resting over his chest, as the man lay beside him.
His breath caught in his throat.
There was something about the sight of Vixen sleeping like that… so close, so vulnerable… that filled Kin's heart with warmth.
Unable to help himself, Kin leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss on Vixen's lips.
Then, he quietly got up and went to check on Shen.
---
As he entered Shen's room, Kin's steps froze.
Shen lay half-asleep, his body leaning against the headboard. His shirt was off, exposing the bruises and long, dry, bloodstained cuts on his chest and arms.
Kin's eyes widened in horror.
> "Shen…"
He stood there, frozen—unable to move, unable to breathe.
Just then, Vixen stirred awake in the other room. He reached for Kin and, not finding him, panicked.
"Kin?!" he called out loud.
Kin heard him and rushed back.
"I'm here, love," he said softly, wrapping his arms around Vixen. "I'm right here."
Vixen didn't hesitate. He hugged Kin tightly and kissed his forehead, then his lips, as if needing proof that Kin was truly okay.
But when he saw the fear in Kin's eyes, he gently asked, "What's wrong? What did you see?"
Kin hesitated, then said, "Come with me… to Shen's room."
---
When they entered, Vixen saw it.
Shen still sat exactly as Kin had found him—but now, even tiny insects were flying near the wounds on his skin.
Vixen's eyes darkened.
Kin stepped back in shock, trying to call out to Shen from afar. "Shen! Shen, can you hear me?!"
But Shen didn't respond. Not a stir. Not a breath.
> "No…" Kin whispered. "No, no, no—"
He moved forward, but Vixen stopped him with a protective arm. "Wait. Let me handle this."
Vixen stepped closer and began releasing his healing pheromones, letting the magic cleanse Shen's wounded body. Slowly, the cuts began to seal.
But… still, no response.
Vixen carefully lifted Shen and laid him down on the bed.
Then, he picked up his phone and called one of his military team members.
"I won't be able to report to camp today," Vixen said calmly. "Return the bike I took yesterday. That's all."
That day, Vixen did not leave Kin or Shen's side.
---
Both Kin and Vixen sat beside Shen, worrying, waiting.
Kin eventually said, "Maybe… I could use my own pheromones?"
But Vixen immediately shook his head.
"No, Kin. Last night, you already risked so much. You saved both me and Shen. Please… don't push yourself again."
Then, without another word, Vixen closed his eyes and placed his hand over Shen's chest. He summoned his divine power, channeling his energy directly into Shen's body, trying again and again.
Minutes passed.
Then—at last—Shen gasped.
He blinked rapidly, confused, dazed… alive.
Kin let out a cry of relief and rushed to hug him.
But Vixen… Vixen slumped slightly.
Using so much of his power had drained him. He fell weak against the wall.
"Vixen!" Kin rushed to his side and held him close. "I've got you. It's okay now."
As Vixen leaned on Kin's shoulder, exhausted but relieved, Shen slowly opened his eyes and whispered,
> "You guys… saved me…"
The weight of the night still lingered in the air, but in that room—there was light again.
