After dinner, Kin Ouren and Vixen Sature retired to their room, falling into a soft embrace under the dim golden lights. The night outside was still—until around 2:30 AM, when a strange noise jolted Vixen awake.
He blinked, disoriented, sitting up in the bed.
What was that sound? It was faint, but oddly rhythmic—almost… intimate.
Curious and cautious, Vixen slipped out of bed and opened the bedroom door quietly. He stepped into the hallway, trying to locate the sound.
That's when he realized—it was coming from Shen Seizan's room.
At first, Vixen froze. Wait… that sounds like... moaning?
His brows furrowed in disbelief. Shen didn't have a partner. There was no one else staying in the house.
Then what… who…?
Vixen's sharp ears picked up soft gasps—a feminine voice whispering something… followed by the unmistakable sound of skin brushing against skin.
His pulse quickened. Was Shen... with someone? But how? When?!
Just then, Kin, having noticed the empty space beside him in bed, wandered out, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
He found Vixen near Shen's door, crouched low with his ear pressed against it.
"Love?" Kin whispered, half-teasing, half-confused. "What are you doing over here?"
Vixen glanced back at him with wide eyes. "Did you know your friend Shen has a lover?"
Kin blinked. "What? No. Shen doesn't date… at least not without telling me. Why?"
Vixen straightened, lowering his voice. "I heard sounds… intimate ones. I thought maybe I was dreaming, but it was too real. I heard a woman's voice. He was talking to her. Or… doing something with her."
Kin raised an amused brow. "Are you sure you weren't dreaming, sweetheart?"
Vixen scowled, still not convinced.
That's when Kin stepped closer, gently cupped Vixen's face and whispered playfully,
"You're acting jealous for no reason. Should I remind you where your heart belongs?"
Vixen raised a brow, almost pouting.
Kin smirked, voice lowering to a sultry tease,
"Now come to bed, husband. I want to be your obsession tonight. You can adore me for as long as you want… or maybe I'll be the one adoring you."
Vixen couldn't help but laugh softly. The teasing twinkle in Kin's eyes made his suspicions fade—just for now.
He let himself be led back to bed, not realizing that behind Shen's door, something far darker was truly unfolding.
And the voice they heard…
…wasn't human.
