Characters
Adrastos (Ah-dr-ass-toos) – A full blooded Luparic and priest of Yaelin. He originates from Caelanth. He is fond of herbs, alchemy, and helping others.
Amos Kane (Ay-moss) – An orc general, known as the sword general. He was in charge of Ironcliff, a city built along the Great Tifan Wall. A kind father, a stern general, and an unparalleled fighter.
Annalise (Anna-lease) – A very positive and energetic noble of the Confederation. She adores meeting new people and trying new things.
Helena Dragonbreaker – An orc famous throughout Duskmere. She has led two expeditions beyond the Great Tifan Wall and survived its depths. Much of what is known, comes from her records. She was gravely injured during the Great Fall, but survived and opened up the Vanguard in an effort to create a center for warriors and information to gather
Nox (Knocks) – A hell-born, escaped from the armies of Hell. She cares for her sister and fulfilling the deals she has made.
Ran Zephyr (Zeh-fur) – A well-dressed human man who seemingly has power over the very air itself. Despite unease, he is impeccably polite even in the face of grievances.
Qapla (Cop-lah) – A honorable orc raised in the old ways. He was born and raised in Duskmere. He is a good warrior and a better friend.
Velyan (Vel-Ain) – A human who works for gold. While her race is populous in Caelanth where she is from, her species is rare on this continent.
Cities and Places
Duskmere – The continent in which the adventure takes place. Also known as the Dark Continent, it is the home ground for all of Balu's monstrous experiments, both beautiful and terrible.
Emerald Expanse – The vast forests that lie between Hell's Gate and the Stormvale meadows. They are dangerous if not traveling in a caravan. However, they are a playground in comparison to the wilderness beyond the Great Tifan Wall.
Great Tifan Wall – Four hundred miles of pure steel, runic magic, and cobblestone near three hundred feet tall. This monument to the Trifectorate's will to survive stood for five hundred years against the endless tides of monsters.
Hell – Also known as the Infernal Realm. It has been sealed since the Shattering 1383 years ago. It is ruled by seven Demon Princes. It has just been unsealed with means unknown.
Stormvale Meadows – A vast hilly grassland and farmlands of the Trifectorate Confederacy. They are located between the Emerald Expanse and the Great Tifan Wall. The storms that occur here are often comparable to Heaven's Wrath.
Wolvsbane – Home of the Vanguard Guild of the Silver Hunt and nestled in the Emerald Expanse, evenly between both Hell's Gate and the Stormvale Meadows.
Gods
Balu (Bay-loo) – Goddess of Monsters. A principal pillar of the Concordant Church, she is openly venerated across the Trifectorate. Her shrines decorate frontier forts, and the city keeps alike. Temples to her celebrate the might of her spawn as also to placate the Mother lest she loose them in wrath.
Cogogee – Goddess of the Sea, Storms, and the Depths. Sailors throughout the realm maintain disciplined devotions to her, believing that a tithe of song and salt keeps hulls afloat beneath her shifting moods. She is acclaimed as both guardian and executioner; an azure hand that steadies the keel and the black tempest that smashes it.
Nege (Neh-jay) – Goddess of Trickery. A principle pillar of the Concordant Church, she enjoys lively worship from travelling troupes, smugglers, and quick-witted duelists who prize guile over force. Supplicants ask her blessing when slipping past monsters – or authorities – on a silver tongue and a shadowed road.
Valaris (Vuh-l-air-es) – Goddess of War. A principle pillar of the Concordant Church, her standards crown every Trifectorate parade ground, and no blade is drawn without her salute. Soldiers beseech her for strength, commanders for discipline, and rivals for the honor of a true duel sworn beneath her gaze.
Vantara (Van-tar-ah) – Goddess of Darkness, the Night, and Secrets. Twin of Yaelin, she lacks a public hierarchy, yet thieves, spies, and lonely watchmen share clandestine rites in moon-drowned alleys. Parents invoke her hush to still restless children, while conspirators barter secrets in her raven shadow.
Yaelin (Yay-lin) – Goddess of Light, Day, and Healing. Twin of Vantara. Although Duskmere offers her only scattered chapels, the distant Empire across the sea maintains grand basilicas where dawn lit choirs sing her praise. Travelers, healers, and the infirm seek her mercy at first light, trusting in balm and clarity carried on the sun's rays
Species
Aetherlings (Aye-their-ling) – A species that is average human statures, their skin carries wisps of elemental hue – crimson embers, pale wind, deep cerulean, or mottled earth – hinting at their birth bond to fire, air, water, or earth. They are famed for effortless elemental craft, shaping flame, breeze, tide, or stone as naturally as others breath.
Changelings(Change-ling) – A species that is average human stature, yet their hair, eyes, and even bone structure flow like soft wax to copy forms they have observed. They are sought after as diplomats, spies, and actors, celebrated for their gift of seamless mimicry and social adaptability.
Goblins – Small, wiry beings with olive-to-emerald skin, luminous amber eyes, and dexterous hands perfect for fine work. They are prized as master crafters – ingenious inventors, herbalists, and cooks whose creations underpin Trifectorate industry and cuisine alike.
Hellborn – Average sized humanoids born to those with devilish lineage. They possess sulfurous skin, and horns adore their head like a crown.
Half-Giant – A species that towers over average size, almost two heads taller. The look very similar to whichever linage of Giants they are descended from, but are much smaller than any Giant.
Kobolds (Co-Bold) – A species of shorter than average human stature., more salamander than dragon scaled in every shade of the rainbow and sporting ridged snouts and nimble tails. They are known for innate sorcery, serving as clever arcanists.
Luparics (Loo-pair-ick) – A fur covered, average sized humanoid wolf. They are known for their familial loyalty and stark nature. Hailing from the Caelanth, their species is uncommon in Duskmere.
Orcs – A broad shoulder species usually a head taller than humans, with green-tinged skin, jutting tusks, and tattooed hides proclaiming deeds of valor. They are respected across the Trifectorate Empire for martial prowess, strict honor codes, and stalwart service in its legions.
