Chapter 89 - Chapter 89

When Hinata started talking about Hanabi, her face lit up with smiles. That overly affectionate expression made Sakura shiver involuntarily—this was classic older-sister syndrome at its worst.

"Actually, this idea came from inspiration given by Sakura!" Hinata suddenly said with a smile. "Do you remember that incident when I was almost bullied on my way home?"

"I-I remember!" Sakura instinctively nodded. She remembered how she had dragged Naruto and the others to dress up like hooligans back then. Wait a second—could it be that this incident was what caused Hinata's personality change?!

"It was that overwhelming presence and commanding strength you had back then that deeply inspired me," Hinata said, her lips curving upward slightly. "That incredibly domineering feeling seemed really appealing to me, so I imitated your style a bit. Ever since then, everyone in the clan has treated me with fear and respect!"

Neji stood aside, head lowered, his expression bitter. Since Hinata changed her personality, no one in the Hyūga clan dared show any negligence toward the young lady anymore. Among their peers, only he could stand up to her; everyone else couldn't even land a single move before getting defeated. Even some chunin ended up on the losing end if they happened to cross her path. That's when Hinata completely transformed into this commanding and dominant personality. She only showed her softer side to this small circle of friends, while the rest of the Hyūga clan found her stern and domineering demeanor absolutely terrifying.

"What did I do to deserve this..."

Reflecting carefully, Sakura suddenly realized this current Hinata was practically identical to the version seen in the Limited Tsukuyomi world (a mental illusion created through a powerful Sharingan technique) shown in the ninth movie. At this realization, Sakura could only stare speechlessly at the sky. She hadn't expected that just play-acting like a delinquent girl gang on a whim would leave such a significant impact on Hinata.

The Uchiha compound stood empty. All the bodies had already been taken away and officially declared buried. But in reality, Sakura knew those Sharingan-bearing corpses were probably on autopsy tables right now.

Traces of blood had been thoroughly cleaned away, and damaged doors and windows had all been repaired. Except for the lack of human presence, everything else looked just as it had before.

Sasuke remained expressionless, but his eyes betrayed a deep loneliness. These streets used to greet him with friendly waves and cheerful greetings every time he passed through them. Now, there was nothing left but silence.

"Sasuke, are you really going to leave such a large place unused?!"

Sakura suddenly asked thoughtfully while rubbing her chin. The Uchiha compound was enormous—if left neglected, it would be such a waste. If they didn't take care of it, higher-ups from the village might seize control, leaving no place for Uchiha residents to return if they ever relocated.

"What else can I do? All the Uchiha clan members are dead!" Sasuke sighed, his brows heavy with endless solitude.

"Leave it to me. Since the entire Uchiha clan property is already under your name now, I can arrange some people to help manage it and rent out part of it. You'll get some rental income—enough to cover your basic needs—and at the same time, it'll bring a good reputation to the Uchiha clan!" Sakura suggested.

"I don't need money!"

Sasuke frowned slightly, showing slight resistance. Although he was now the last surviving member of the Uchiha clan, all their assets had been placed in safekeeping by The Third. Every month, The Third sends someone over with a stipend, while the rest will be transferred to him upon reaching adulthood. For Sasuke, who had access to the full wealth of the Uchiha clan, money was never an issue.

"Money isn't the point," Sakura explained to Sasuke. "The main reason I suggest renting out parts of the property is for reputation! If you want to revive the Uchiha clan, you must ensure nobody forgets the Uchiha's existence. The Uchiha district is huge, but right now it's completely empty and going to waste. Renting out a portion at reasonable prices will make tenants grateful toward the Uchiha. That way, the Uchiha clan won't be forgotten!"

"But I don't know how to run a business!" Sasuke hesitated. What Sakura said truly intrigued him—he did long for the Uchiha to be remembered by everyone—but managing business operations wasn't something he'd ever learned.

"No worries. I'll ask my dad to send a few people to negotiate with Lord Third, and we can do some renovations on the Uchiha district. Who knows? It might become another bustling street in Konoha!"

Sakura shrugged casually. After all, her parents were thriving in business and loved staying busy. They could just dispatch some personnel from their company over to manage affairs concerning the Uchiha district.

"Thanks..." Sasuke muttered awkwardly; he rarely ever expressed gratitude like this. But then he continued, "Look, I really don't need the money—my family's inherited wealth will last me my entire life. So why not leave the Uchiha district management entirely in your hands? Just consider all profits yours as a gift."

"You sure are generous!" Sakura raised one eyebrow, saying, "Still, taking all that profit myself feels uneasy. How about this—I'll ask my dad to help reestablish a small company dedicated solely to managing the Uchiha district, and we'll split all generated profits equally among the twelve of us. Think of it as our own private little slush fund!"

"Eh? This is unnecessary, right?" Ino hurriedly waved her hands, "You're essentially handing us free money!"

"Don't say you can't help!" Sakura shrugged nonchalantly, "The Uchiha district is a huge area, and there are many powerful figures in Konoha who have their eyes set on it. Relying only on my family probably won't be enough to protect such a valuable asset. That's when having your families stand up and back us becomes important!"

The Uchiha district is a sizeable piece of land. If it's actually developed, the potential profits would be enormous. But if that old man Danzo starts causing trouble during the process, it could become a huge problem. That's exactly why they need Ino's father to back them up right now.
