"I don't know!" Sasuke instinctively shook his head, his thoughts a jumbled mess.
"The answer's easy—it's all about numbers and bloodlines!" Sakura started weaving her story, fidgeting with her fingers. "No matter how powerful Kakashi-sensei is, he's still just one man. In this situation, people will remember his name, but never the Hatake family!"
"And what does that prove?" Sasuke frowned, his mind tangled like a mess of yarn.
"It proves how important population is!" Sakura declared. "Think carefully—you should understand this yourself. If Kakashi-sensei wasn't alone, but had a large, thriving family instead, then with the reputation he's built, no one would mention him without saying 'Kakashi of the Hatake clan,' right?"
"That actually makes sense," Sasuke said, letting himself be pulled along by her reasoning, slowly starting to believe her.
"So you see, aside from personal strength, the most important thing for truly reviving a clan is having clan members!"
Sakura continued explaining to Sasuke. "That's why we must protect our limited resources and strive to expand our numbers—to create more Uchiha talents!"
"What exactly are you saying?" Sasuke asked.
"Right now, the Uchiha clan only has you and Itachi left. You're still only seven years old. Obviously, it's unrealistic to expect you to grow the Uchiha population anytime soon—just like Kakashi-sensei hasn't done anything to expand the Hatake family over the years!"
Without hesitation, Sakura brought Kakashi up again for criticism before finally revealing her true intentions. "Under current circumstances, besides you, the only one capable of expanding the Uchiha bloodline is Itachi. Instead of killing him directly, wouldn't it be better to capture him, find him several wives, and make him work hard on producing offspring? That way, we can restore the Uchiha clan to its former glory. The number of Uchiha he killed—that's exactly how many Uchiha children we need him to produce. Once he's successfully rebuilt an entire Uchiha family, he'll have redeemed himself for the sins he committed against the clan."
"Capture him... and force him to have kids?!"
Sasuke was completely stunned—not to mention Kakashi, who nearly dropped Make Out Paradise from shock, and the Third watching through the Crystal Orb, who almost crushed the orb in his hands.
"Exactly! To revive the Uchiha clan, we need a sufficient population. Right now, there are only the two of you left. You're too young and carry the heavy burden of improving your power and establishing your reputation. Therefore, the task of reproduction must fall onto Itachi."
Inwardly, Sakura sent an apology to Itachi Uchiha. It was all to help rid Sasuke of his hatred.
Chapter 79: Domineering Hinata [Second Update]
"Besides, you want revenge, right? But sometimes, killing someone isn't necessarily the best form of vengeance!"
Sakura wore a serious expression. "Just think about it—Itachi killed so many from the Uchiha clan. If you just go ahead and kill him, won't it be too easy on him? The souls of the fallen Uchiha won't be able to rest in peace even in the afterlife!"
"Then..." Sasuke felt more and more confused. Why did Sakura's words sound so reasonable?
"One life isn't enough to balance out the whole clan. But you could capture him and make him have kids instead. You tally up how many households there were in the Uchiha clan, then set Itachi a goal based on that number. Then assign those kids to other families afterward. That way, we make sure no bloodline gets completely wiped out!"
Sakura kept going, trying hard to convince Sasuke. Meanwhile, in the Hokage's office, the Third sat frowning, puffing away on his pipe. He had personally assigned Itachi to infiltrate Akatsuki. But what if Itachi ever found out that Sakura was telling Sasuke to capture him and make him produce heirs—to rebuild the entire Uchiha clan from scratch? Would he quit on the spot?!
"Itachi... I'm truly sorry..."
The Third watched the image displayed within the Crystal Orb. Sasuke clearly looked moved by Sakura's idea, and the Third's heart sank like a stone.
When Sasuke was finally cleared to leave the hospital, it had already been one month since the Uchiha Clan Downfall Massacre. Across the shinobi world, most ordinary people now believed the story that Itachi alone had annihilated the Uchiha clan. Yet not a single Kage from any village actually bought that narrative. How old was Itachi this year? Thirteen. How could a thirteen-year-old wipe out the entire Uchiha clan? Anyone with half a brain knew that was absolutely impossible.
Still, every other hidden village secretly welcomed this turn of events. The Uchiha clan had always been one of Konoha's strongest pillars. Without them, Konoha's strength had dropped at least thirty percent.
On the streets of Konoha Village, Sakura and others walked alongside newly-released-from-hospital Sasuke toward the Uchiha district. Each of their hands carried tons of ingredients. To celebrate Sasuke being home, everyone had planned a party at his place, hoping to help ease some of his lingering sadness.
"Leader-sama, good day."
A group of kids walking toward them suddenly stopped respectfully aside, bowing low in greeting.
"Grand Leader-sama?!"
Following the kids' gazes, Sakura and the others looked over and nearly popped their eyes out.
"Hn. Be careful when walking, and don't bully anyone," Hinata replied coolly, her expression never shifting.
"Understood, Leader-sama." The kids responded respectfully before turning and leaving.
"What exactly is going on here?!" Sakura exclaimed, shocked. Hinata became the leader figure? Judging from these kids' behavior, they clearly showed great reverence toward her. This doesn't fit Hinata's character at all! Sakura remembered Hinata in the original plot as that shy, cute girl—not some commanding figure radiating a dominant aura all of a sudden!
"Last time I saw them bullying someone, I stepped in and stopped them. After thinking it through later, I realized that in a couple of years, Hanabi'll be old enough to start school. So I decided to gather a group of loyal guys to watch over her once she starts school—to make sure nobody even dares to mess with Hanabi!"
