Chapter 2 - High

Four

"Hey, Terri! Did you do your homework last night? I saw your status."

Terri turned around and faced Nicole. She was stuck onto Nancy as usual and they were both grinning at him.

"What homework?" He huffed, his eyes glued onto the girls' chests more than their eyes.

"Mr. Whithermon's Math homework," Nancy answered.

They both walked up to him, gauging his expression. He narrowed his eyes at them, rummaging through his mind. He didn't remember any homework. These girls were probably teasing him because they saw him streaming all night, the night before.

"Stop playing," Terri growled through a smirk.

"I'm serious, Terri." Nicole scoffed, sitting perched on his desk. "He gave us, like, thirty questions on Geometry."

"Hell, I busted my mind for that thing," Nancy scoffed, pressing herself against Nicole.

Terri was what you would call an airhead. He had the attention span of an amoeba and the memory of a goldfish… because while the girls were telling him about the homework, his mind and eyes were already focused on how Nicole's butt overflowed onto his desk, and how Nancy's breasts squished against Nicole's.

To put it bluntly, he was a lost cause. It was a wonder he lasted in his online streaming games and didn't get shot the moment he got online.

"Apparently that stuff affects our overall credit scores," Nancy mumbled.

Terri snapped back to reality. "What?"

Nicole shrugged. "Yeah. Didn't you hear Whithermon the last time? He said we needed to pull our socks up and do better in this assignment. He was gonna be generous with the marks and stuff."

"He's the one who gives us extra credit to join college," Nancy mumbled.

Terri looked shocked and horrified at the same time. He hadn't thought much of that assignment. And it was thirty questions! He couldn't get them done before the teacher arrived, not with his head space. The girls patted his shoulder and went to sit down.

"Good luck with your life," Nicole chuckled as they walked to their seats.

Terri dropped his head in his hands, running his fingers through his hair. Then a third voice called out to him. "Terri, what's the matter with you, bro?"

He raised his head wearily and saw Abe, his friend, deskmate and facilitator, walking towards him, his backpack slung over his shoulder.

He huffed indignantly. "Those two are melting my head telling me about an important assignment right now."

Abe sat down. "What assignment?" He asked, leaning back in his chair.

"Exactly my point!" Terri exclaimed, his hands trembling.

"The one Whithermon gave us last week!" Nicole called over from her desk, a wide grin on her face, leaning back to allow her brown locks to expose her ears and rounded forehead.

Abe frowned. "That assignment? Why're you so worked up about that assignment?" He asked Terri. "We turned it in last week."

"What?" Terri paused, his eyes wide.

"Yeah," Abe scoffed. "Did you forget already? You and I wrote it together after chewing on that special something I gave you, bro!" He smacked his arm.

Terri turned to the girls and watched them burst into laughter. "Are you kidding me, girls!?" He spat as they laughed their heads off. "This was all a prank?"

Abe smirked at the girls with mock disappointment and shook his head. "How could you do my boy so dirty, Nancy? Nicole?"

"This dude has the memory of a goldfish!" Nicole guffawed, banging her fist on her desk.

Terri quietly simmered in his seat, adjusting his tie and turning away. "Y'all are terrible friends."

A few minutes later, the teacher came in, calmed down the raucous and started the lesson, Terri still seething. During lunchtime, they sat on a table outside after eating, the boys sitting on the bench and the girls perched on the table. They were watching other students, talking about their hairstyles, uniform sizes, the people they associated with, their faces and their bodies. Terri—as usual—was ogling the girls, mentally measuring their behinds and their chests.

Abe glanced at him before smirking. "Are you going to mind-fuck all these chicks, dude?"

Terri glanced at him. "Huh?"

"You have some pretty piercing eyes, bro." Abe chuckled. "I bet even the girls can feel you staring through their bras."

"That one's not wearing a bra," Terri jutted his chin to a blonde girl chatting with a redhead far from them.

"Damn!" Nancy coughed.

"See what I mean?" Abe wheezed out a laugh. "You have the ability to hone in on boobs and asses – but you can't concentrate in class, or remember squat!"

"I remember stuff!" Terri raised his voice defensively. "I remember these two fucking me over about the assignment!" He crossed his arms.

Nancy and Nicole laughed. "Ey, bro, that was all on you!" Nicole raised her arms defensively, looking down at him.

Terri craned his head back and immediately lost focus when he saw her chest. From below, it looked so huge! And that was it with Terri's focus and irritation.

After a quiet moment, Abe cleared his throat, his voice low. "But, uh, if you want to get your concentration back, Terri-boy, I got another special something else for ya." He took out a little bag full of grey stuff.

Terri perked up. "What's that?" He reached for it.

Abe pulled away. "Ayo, hands off the merch! Not yet." He stuffed it away in his pockets again.

"How do you take that?" Nancy asked, her arms crossed.

"You smoke it," Abe wiped his nose with a casual look, crossing his arms. "I'll share it later."

Terri and the girls nodded.

A few hours after school and after dark, the four of them were standing on a bridge, wrapping the grey powder in newspapers. Abe took out a lighter and lit it for all of them. A few minutes later, they were blowing smoke out of their mouths like professionals. They were all still in their uniforms but standing idly by on the bridge.

Terri, leaning against the bridge railing, took a long and deep drag before blowing out a large circle of smoke onto Nancy's breasts. "Abe…" he sighed after getting punched in the shoulder by Nancy. "...I forgot to ask you. Where do you get this stuff?"

They all turned to Abe who paced back and forth in front of them, blowing smoke furiously. "I got them from my aunt's stash."

"She's hooked too?" Nicole asked.

Abe shook his head. "Nah. She's a shaman. She uses this stuff all the time to relax her clients and keep them sharp, still."

"I'll say. I can see the freaking stars!" Terri snorted, taking his eyes from the sky and bringing them to Nicole's chest. "Damn, and I can see Nicole's rack clearly!"

Nicole yelped as the boy stuffed his face in her chest. "You perv!" She dropped a few ashes in his hair. He jumped back and shook them off.

"You're so high right now," Abe laughed.

Terri hissed at Nicole like a cat and leaned back on the railing, staring down at the bottom of the river below the bridge. They stood around quietly for a few minutes. Then a few minutes later, they were staggering down at the bottom of the river, Abe holding onto Nicole and kissing her, while Terri had his face stuffed in Nancy's chest.

"You didn't say this stuff's an aphrodisiac," Nancy scoffed, watching Terri trying to bury himself deeper in her chest.

"Also a hallucinogen," Abe said between kisses. He dragged Nicole away and disappeared with her into the bushes.

Nancy and Terri remained on the riverbank.

"Are we gonna do anything?" Nancy asked, her pupils blown wide.

Terri hummed between her chest. Abe returned a moment later. Alone. "Nancy, come here." He called.

Terri raised his head and watched Abe take the girl out of his hands like he wasn't an obstruction. "C'mon, dude! You can't have all the girls." He watched the two disappear into the bushes.

"Okay," he shrugged and stood foolishly while waiting for the others to come back. He could hear every sound of the night, see every small thing and smell everything. The crisp night air, the green of plants, the faintly increasing metallic smell. A moment later, Abe emerged from the shrubs alone, wiping his mouth.

"Dude, where are the girls?" Terri chuckled, extremely relaxed as Abe approached him.

"Come here," Abe said.

"Nah, bro. I'm good." He raised his hands. "I'm not into dudes."

Abe towered over him, his eyes sharp. "I said come," he ordered, his voice low.

Terri gawked up at him, his now sharp eyes catching a lot of things. "Whoa, is that blood?" He picked at Abe's shirt who remained silent.

"You need to come with me in those bushes," Abe repeated.

Terri didn't laugh about it. "Whoa, pause." He pushed against Abe's chest, suddenly feeling how extremely relaxed and weak he was. He looked up at Abe and snickered. "Dude! The hallucinogen is working! You got some big-ass fangs and freaky elf ears!"

Abe didn't react. He instead smirked, his eyes glowing. "C'mon, Terri. Aren't you relaxed?" He pulled the other boy closer and trailed his hands up his sides. "This stuff keeps you ultra focused and super… super relaxed…"

"You're tripping…" Terri tried to pull away but saw how easily Abe pulled him into the bushes. "Abe, you look like a dork right now."

His words caught in his throat as Abe grazed his lips down his neck. He could feel everything, hear everything and see everything but couldn't fight back. The smell of metal was now strong behind these bushes. Abe pulled him flushed against himself. Terri moved his eyes around and immediately noticed the bodies of Nancy and Nicole lying on the ground, their eyes wide and necks bloodied.

"What the hell!?"

Abe reacted the moment Terri gasped and sank his teeth into his neck. Terri's screams caught in his throat. He could feel the fangs sinking deeper into his neck, the feeling of his blood getting drained and the hazy feeling filling his mind. He was way too relaxed to fight back. Abe was sucking him dry!

Abe continued to the point where Terri went limp. He let him drop like a sack and sighed, licking his lips. "Well, that was pleasant," he chuckled, picking up the three bodies with one hand and hoisting them on his shoulder. He walked off into the night.

The knock on Terri's door pulled him out of his thoughts. He looked and saw Abe standing in the doorway, grinning. "Are you still high? C'mon, that stuff was supposed to keep you focused on one thing, not everything!"

Terri blinked. "What time is it?" His eyes were wide.

"We're going to be late!" Nicole's voice shouted downstairs.

"Come on! What's the hold up?" Nancy's shrieked after.

"We gotta go, bro." Abe smirked.

Terri raised a finger, still disoriented. "Wait. How did I get here?"

"We carried your ass back from the bridgebridge, dude! Again. Now, hurry up!" Abe laughed, grabbing him.

"O-okay!" Terri huffed, the environment around him clear and his senses hyped.

"And don't forget your sunscreen," Abe sang as he walked down the stairs.

Terri paused. "Sunscreen?" He reached for the white bottle on his dresser, remembering. "Oh, right. The sunscreen Abe made for us forty years ago." He scoffed and chuckled. "My head's always jumbled before and after a reset."
