On the raging sea, a massive Marine battleship surged through the waves.
Marines bustled about on deck, working to ensure the ship could continue its course in the storm.
Under the torrential rain, the sea revealed its most violent face.
At the bow stood Akainu, motionless, forming a stark contrast to the chaos below him.
The storm and the rocking ship seemed unable to affect him in the slightest.
Magma surged steadily along his arms, erupting with each rise and fall of the vessel.
Akainu's face was as cold as frost. Looking ahead, he could already see Dressrosa reduced to ruins. At the harbor, Vice Admirals were surrounded by members of the Beasts Pirates.
His heart burned with fury.
"That reckless maniac… causing trouble again."
The Marines were currently preparing for the great battle against Whitebeard's crew, yet Good insisted on waging war against Kaido. Judging from the scene before him, it looked like the Beasts Pirates had the advantage.
This time, the Marine losses were severe.
Although Good's previous battle had earned a shred of Akainu's recognition, right now he only wanted to beat him down. How could Good be so disobedient?
If his recklessness ruined the Marines' carefully laid plans, Good would undoubtedly become the greatest sinner.
For the first time, Akainu found himself appreciating Kizaru and Aokiji's personalities. One was lazy, the other indifferent—they caused mischief, but Good caused far too much chaos.
Suppressing his anger, Akainu first turned his focus to rescuing his comrades. He unleashed Ryūsei Kazan (Meteor Volcano).
At the same time, he sensed that something was off.
The Beasts Pirates, upon seeing Akainu arrive and immediately unleash Meteor Volcano, were terrified.
The Flying Six and the Headliners quickly abandoned their siege on the Vice Admirals and scattered in panic.
Akainu's notorious temper was well-known, and the fact that he had opened with Meteor Volcano showed just how enraged he was.
If they didn't flee now, they wouldn't get the chance.
King and Queen both wore grim expressions.
"What now, big bro?" Queen muttered, his cigar long since bitten to pieces.
They had just been fighting with Good. Although Good hadn't targeted them directly, his relentless attacks had left them winded.
Now, with a Marine Admiral arriving for reinforcements, if they didn't retreat, they'd be trapped here.
But the problem was that Kaido was unconscious. If they left, how could they face him when he woke?
Without Kaido, the Beasts Pirates would be headless.
King hesitated, then sighed helplessly. "We leave first. We'll figure out how to rescue Lord Kaido later."
It wouldn't be the first time Kaido had been imprisoned.
Queen thought it over, then nodded.
The two made their decision and led their forces to retreat.
Meanwhile, the Marine battleship docked. Akainu leaped ashore—only to be stunned by the scene before him.
It was nothing like what he had imagined.
Kaido… Kaido lay sprawled on the ground, completely unconscious.
Which meant… Good had defeated the Beasts Kaido.
Akainu scanned the area. The Vice Admirals had suffered only minor injuries—the worst being broken bones.
Good himself didn't look badly hurt, though he was clearly drained and relying on sheer stamina to remain standing.
Everywhere else, the Beasts Pirates were fleeing in disarray.
Akainu took a deep breath, suppressing his shock.
Looking at the fleeing pirates, then back at Good, Akainu finally spoke:
"Well done, Good!"
"From here, leave it to me. Rest now."
Turning to the Marines, Akainu barked orders:
"Capture every member of the Beasts Pirates! Don't let a single one escape!"
"Otherwise, how will you face Admiral Reckless Maniac!?"
The Marines roared with enthusiasm, especially the Vice Admirals who had witnessed Good's battle with Kaido. Their blood boiled with excitement.
Admiral Good had single-handedly defeated Kaido. The rest was up to them. If they couldn't even capture some of the Beasts Pirates, what right did they have to call themselves Marines?
Momousagi, fired up, gripped her blade tightly. "Do it! Take them all down!"
"Bring every last one of them back!"
With Akainu's arrival, the battle reached its conclusion.
The Marines had won a great victory—or rather, Good had won a great victory.
The captain of the Beasts Pirates, Kaido, was captured. Of the three Calamities, Queen and Jack were seized. Only the Flying Six, some Headliners, and King—who had escaped using his ability to fly—remained.
Marineford, Fleet Admiral's office.
Sengoku's roar echoed through the room:
"Damn it! That reckless fool!!"
"Can't he buy his own rice cakes if he wants to eat them!?"
Garp, stuffing his mouth with rice cakes, replied casually, grinning:
"Don't take out your anger on me. If you want, I'll leave you a piece."
Sengoku sighed heavily. "Ever since we promoted Good to Admiral, my temples have been throbbing constantly!"
"He really gives me no peace."
Munching away, Garp chuckled. "I think that kid's not bad. Sure, he's a bit simple, not much for talking, and stubborn as hell… but he's straightforward, and his strength is real…"
Sengoku ignored him, muttering to himself:
"Just like you."
The meeting room fell back into silence, broken only by Garp crunching his rice cakes.
But Sengoku's headache only grew worse. Good might have just destroyed his carefully laid plans for Whitebeard.
"Tell me, Garp… don't you think that kid has no business being an Admiral?"
If Good's insubordination truly caused disaster—if the Marines suffered huge losses by fighting the Beasts Pirates at this critical moment—Sengoku would have no choice but to strip him of his title.
Before Garp could respond, the Den Den Mushi on the table rang.
Sengoku snatched it up at once. "Report! What's the situation?"
His urgency and worry were clear.
On the other end, Akainu's steady voice replied:
"Fleet Admiral… Kaido of the Beasts has fallen."
Sengoku froze. His expression shifted to disbelief. He quickly demanded:
"Explain! What do you mean Kaido of the Beasts has fallen!?"
