Kaido's crew had a strict chain of command—Kaido as the king, under him the Three Calamities: King, Queen, and Jack. Below them were the Tobiroppo, also called the Flying Six.
Black Maria's forces specialized in intelligence gathering for the Beasts Pirates, and most of its members were women.
Just as Kaido was preparing to head out and kill himself again, a female Headliner came to report: Jack was in trouble.
"Hm?" Kaido grunted, dropping himself back into his high-backed chair. His deep voice rumbled, "What happened?"
The other two Calamities, King the Wildfire and Queen the Plague, were present as well. Hearing that their "third brother" had gotten into trouble, both frowned, waiting for the report.
The female Headliner quickly relayed the intelligence.
By the time she finished, Kaido's face had gone dark.
"What??"
His huge hand gripped the chair's armrest with bone-crushing force. "Too arrogant! Too damn arrogant!"
"This new admiral—I don't mess with him, but after provoking Whitebeard, he still dares to come after me?!"
Good's actions were the equivalent of squatting over Kaido's head and taking a dump—utterly disrespectful.
The hall shook as Kaido's fury mounted. In the next second, his body expanded rapidly, transforming into a massive azure dragon.
The great hall suddenly felt cramped, and rubble rained down from the ceiling.
The female Headliner trembled uncontrollably under the overwhelming presence of the "Strongest Creature."
"If he wants to lure me over, I'll give him exactly what he wants! We're going to Dressrosa right now!"
Without heading for the door, Kaido smashed through the ceiling, leaving a gaping hole as he rode his flame clouds into the sky.
In seconds, he was gone.
The female Headliner collapsed to the floor, her face pale. A massive slab from the roof crashed to the ground less than a meter from her—it would have killed her instantly if she'd been any closer.
King and Queen, however, showed no reaction, ignoring the ruin around them.
After a moment, Queen took a drag from his cigarette and asked, "So, what now?"
King thought for a moment. "We'll take some people to Dressrosa. The Marines can't be stupid enough to let an admiral provoke us without a plan. This could be a trap."
Queen nodded, then muttered, "Still… how did Jack run into an admiral just from going to trade SMILEs with Doflamingo?"
"CP already knew about our dealings with Doflamingo," King replied. "Who knows what the Marines and those scheming World Government dogs are planning?"
"They're already going after Whitebeard, and now they want to mess with us too…"
Queen grinned. "The Marines are playing with fire!"
Their voices faded as they left the hall.
…
On the far end of the Grand Line at Marineford, Sengoku—who had just been hung up on by Good—was raging.
That fool was as reckless as ever, acting without any thought for consequences.
A few days ago, he'd stirred up trouble with Whitebeard. Now he wanted to provoke Kaido too. Couldn't he stay quiet for once?
Still, as angry as he was, Sengoku couldn't just let Good march to his death.
"I wonder if Momousagi can talk him out of it…"
With a sigh, he picked up the Den Den Mushi and called the other three admirals.
But they were all still on missions and couldn't get to Dressrosa quickly. Good had used the Float-Float Fruit to get there, so immediate reinforcement was impossible.
In the end, Sengoku could only order all nearby vice admirals to head to Dressrosa and assist.
Leaning back in his chair, rubbing his temples, he prayed this wouldn't get too out of hand.
Unlike Whitebeard, Kaido never let grudges go.
…
In the New World, Totto Land—Whole Cake Island.
As the Sea's Queen, Big Mom's information network was second to none.
It wasn't long before she learned about Good's stunt with Jack.
Her eyes widened in surprise at the sheer audacity.
Just days ago, Good had fought Whitebeard—now he was provoking Kaido?
"This new admiral doesn't know how to keep still…" she muttered, then grinned.
"This will be interesting. Let's see how Kaido reacts…"
She intended to sit back and enjoy the show. If Kaido got dragged into the storm with Whitebeard and the Marines, things could get very exciting.
Best case, the three sides would tear each other apart—and she, untouched by the war, would reap the rewards.
Perhaps Totto Land's territory could even expand.
The once-calm world now trembled with the scent of an approaching storm.
And on a deserted island in the New World—the very one where Shanks and Whitebeard last met—two top powers met again.
Whitebeard and Shanks faced each other once more.
