Chapter 511 - Chapter 511: I'm Not Lying to You

Archer, Ariana, and Proton retreated to a window, looking like they were about to break the glass and escape. At Natsui's command, his Dragonite, Jolteon, and Gardevoir closed in on them at high speed, mercilessly knocking out any of the grunts' Pokémon that got in their way. In just a few moments, many Team Rocket Pokémon were down.

On the other side, seeing their plan, Looker shouted, "Team Rocket, don't even think about escaping!"

"Escaping?" Ariana sneered. "This is a tactical retreat, not an escape. We've achieved our goal here. There's no point in staying any longer."

As she spoke, she pulled out a controller and pressed a button. With a loud BANG, all the glass windows around the entire observation deck shattered at the same time. The flying shards of glass made the police officers' Pokémon flinch. By the time they looked up again, the Team Rocket members had already jumped from the tower, opened the gliders on their backs, and were soaring away. They had an escape route planned all along.

"Damn it, after them!"

Looker's expression changed. Even though he had police stationed around the TV station, the way they were flying, they were clearly heading for a farther location. Trying to chase them through a massive international city like this would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Natsui's eyes had been locked on the three executives the entire time. Seeing them about to leap from the tower, his gaze hardened. Gardevoir, connected to him telepathically, instantly sensed his thought. It reached out a hand, and with a burst of psychic power, it grabbed Proton—who had just jumped out the window—and violently yanked him back inside.

"Nani!?"

Proton's face paled. He tried to break free, but a human's strength was no match for psychic power. In just a few seconds, he was pulled back into the tower. Several nearby officers immediately piled on top of him, holding him down firmly.

Before that was even over, Natsui let out a whistle and leaped out of the broken window himself. Before he could even begin to fall, a yellow figure flashed by his side. Dragonite had opened its wings and caught him on its broad back. A moment later, Gardevoir teleported onto Dragonite's back as well. Natsui then took out a Poké Ball and, while they were still close, recalled his Jolteon from the fight below. The entire sequence was seamless and completed in just a few seconds.

By now, Archer and Ariana were already some distance away. They looked back and saw that Proton had been captured, and their expressions soured. Seeing Dragonite carrying Natsui flying toward them made their hearts sink even further. They exchanged a look, nodded, and broke away from the main group of grunts, flying in a different direction.

The grunts floated through the air like paper airplanes, but Natsui ignored them, keeping his eyes locked on Archer and Ariana. Seeing them separate from the others, he patted Dragonite's neck, signaling it to change course.

Below them were the streets of Goldenrod City. Some people on the ground noticed something flying overhead and looked up. Seeing the sky full of gliders, they were puzzled, thinking it was some kind of extreme sports event.

In the sky, the gliders carried Archer and Ariana out of the city and to a freight train station in the suburbs. They lowered their altitude and finally landed there. They had just taken off their gear and gotten their footing when Dragonite descended from the sky. Natsui jumped off and stood before them.

Archer squinted at him. "You're really persistent."

Ariana crossed her arms and sneered, "You dare to follow us alone? You must think you've already won."

Natsui didn't answer them. Instead, he took out his Poké Balls and released his Pokémon one by one. Gardevoir, Dragonite, Jolteon, Tyranitar, Scizor, Gengar, and Crystal Steelix—a total of seven Pokémon—stood by his side, each one looking powerful.

Glancing at the Pokémon, Archer and Ariana seemed to give up on running. They took out their own Poké Balls and released their teams. Natsui looked them over. Archer had a Houndoom, a Golbat, a Persian, a Hypno, a Tyranitar, and a Wobbuffet. Ariana had a Sneasel, a Muk, an Arbok, a Lickitung, a Kabutops, and a Vileplume.

In an instant, more than a dozen Pokémon filled the empty space. They stared intently at their enemies. Although they were silent, their fighting spirit was high.

Ariana looked around and sneered, "Looks like we have the advantage in numbers."

Natsui replied coldly, "Numbers don't decide everything. Strength is what matters most. Besides, the International Police will be here as backup any minute. Where are your reinforcements?"

Ariana's smile froze. Just as he said, the police were on their way, but no one was coming to help them.

"Don't be careless," Archer said, glancing at her. "Don't forget, he still has the Legendary Birds."

"You don't have to worry about that," Natsui said with a slight smile, shaking his head. "I've already left the Legendary Birds somewhere else."

Huh?

Archer and Ariana were very surprised that he would openly admit his strongest Pokémon weren't with him. Why would he do that? What is he thinking? But they were cautious and wondered if he was telling the truth. What if he was lying? If they believed him and let their guard down, he could suddenly release the Legendary Birds during the battle and catch them completely by surprise.

Seeing their suspicious looks, Natsui didn't say anything more. Why does no one believe me when I tell the truth these days?

But... his fingers brushed against the two Ultra Balls on his belt. While the birds weren't here, he did have two of the beasts with him, and they could serve as his trump cards.

"Don't worry, I'm really not lying to you. The Legendary Birds aren't with me."

Seeing his serious expression, Archer and Ariana were confused. They had no idea what he was planning. They exchanged a look. Knowing time was short, they decided not to delay any longer. It was best to defeat him quickly and get out of here. And if they could really finish him here, it would be a huge victory for Team Rocket.
