Just as Estelle was typing on her phone, she felt the chair beside her shift. Someone had taken the empty seat.
Her fingers froze mid-tap and slowly, she lifted her gaze. A man sat there, he was tall, broad-shouldered, with sharp features that seemed to soften only when he smiled. His presence carried an ease that immediately unsettled her stillness.
When their eyes met, the corners of his lips tugged upward. "Good evening, Mrs. Astor… Am I right?" His tone was light, teasing, as if he already knew the answer but wanted to see her reaction. A soft laugh escaped him, low and warm. "I'm Kaelith"
She tilted her head slightly, her voice calm but cautious. "Kaelith? I don't know you"
"Yeah, you don't" He leaned back into the chair like he owned the space, tapping his fingers lazily on the table. His eyes shifted upward, toward the railings above. With a tilt of his chin, he gestured. "Someone wants your attention tonight"
Estelle followed his gaze.
