Toge walked towards the school, arriving a few minutes later. When he opened the classroom door, he found it buzzing with activity. The students were wearing their hero costumes, and talking enthusiastically. The atmosphere was full of energy, a stark contrast to the quiet he preferred.
Toge didn't care what was happening and entered quietly, before seeing Midoriya talking to Uraraka, both smiling happily, while Mineta, with his small stature, was hiding behind one of the desks, trying to peek at the girls' feet. Toge looked at him with disgust, then completely ignored him. He walked directly to his seat at the back of the class, and sat down quietly, placing his bag on the floor beside him, as if he wanted to disappear from sight.
It wasn't long before the classroom door opened again, and All Might entered, with his usual wide smile, carrying his yellow sleeping bag on his back, with Aizawa asleep inside.
"Listen up, students!" All Might said in a loud voice that filled the room. "It's time to choose your hero names!"
A state of excitement filled the classroom. Midnight pulled out her whip and said in an alluring voice: "I won't talk too long, but I see that some of you already have great hero names."
The students raised their hands one after the other, each presenting their proposed name. Midoriya was hesitant at first, but in the end he decided to use the name "Deku," which Bakugo used to insult him, but he decided to turn it into a great hero name. As for Uraraka, she chose the name "Uravity," while Todoroki chose the name "Shoto," and Bakugo refused to listen to Midnight's suggestions, and insisted on the name "Dynamite King," before Midnight rejected it, which angered him. After a short period of discussion, All Might decided to give him more time to think, even though Bakugou insisted on using "Explosive King "as his code name.
While the students were exchanging names, All Might suddenly turned to Toge, who was sitting in the back row, as if he didn't exist.
"And you, Toge?" All Might asked, with a wide smile on his face. "What hero name did you choose?"
All eyes turned to Toge, who was sitting in the back row, looking at All Might with empty eyes. Silence was dominant, as if he was refusing to answer. Finally, Toge spoke in a low but clear voice: "Toge"
"Toge?" All Might said in surprise, raising one of his eyebrows. "Do you mean this is your name?"
"Yes." Toge answered coldly, as if he was talking about something that didn't matter to him. "I don't want another name, I just want to be Toge."
"You can't do that!" All Might said in a loud voice, and his wide smile began to fade. "A hero name is a very important matter! It represents your identity as a hero! You must have a name that distinguishes you, a name that draws a smile on people's faces and gives them hope."
"Why?" Toge asked, and his tone was devoid of any emotion. "I'm not here to make people smile. I'm just here to get the job done."
A state of shock prevailed in the classroom. No one expected Toge to respond to All Might in this way. Even Bakugo, who was angry about his name being rejected, stopped talking, and watched the situation with interest.
"Toge, you..." All Might began to speak, but he suddenly stopped.
"Students!" Aizawa screamed from inside his sleeping bag. "Be quiet! How do you expect me to sleep with all this noise?"
All Might looked at the bag with an embarrassed smile, then carried it on his back like a backpack. "Aizawa, you can't ask them to do that! We're in the middle of an important lesson, which is something indispensable on their way to becoming heroes!"
"I'm saying I'm going to sleep!" Aizawa said, and signs of anger were visible in his voice. "I don't care what this lesson is, I just want to sleep!"
"But Aizawa, even you have a hero name! 'Eraserhead'!" All Might said, laughing. "This name represents you perfectly!"
Aizawa stopped talking, and the atmosphere returned to silence again, while All Might laughed loudly. Then he turned to Toge again, and said in a calmer tone: "Toge, you must choose a name. This matter is not optional."
Toge sighed slowly, then looked at All Might. "I haven't thought about it yet. Give me some time, and I'll think about it later."
All Might nodded his head, and signs of discomfort were visible on his face, then he turned to the rest of the students. "Okay, now that we're done with this matter, let's get back to the lesson. I know you're excited, but we must also be serious. The future awaits us!"
"And today," All Might said in a loud voice, and his wide smile returned to his face. "We have a special field training! Today, we are going to train on emergency rescue operations!"
Joy prevailed in the classroom, and laughter began to rise. Everyone was excited for this training. All Might looked at the students and said: "I would like to introduce you to someone who will accompany us in this training. He is the professional hero, 'Thirteen'!"
The hero "Thirteen" entered with his space suit, and greeted the students. The atmosphere was full of energy and enthusiasm.
"We will do this training in a special place," All Might said, pointing to the door. "A place called 'USJ', which is designed to simulate all kinds of natural disasters!"
"Everyone get ready to leave!" All Might yelled. "We are going to the bus now!"
The students rushed to the bus, and headed to the USJ. Everyone was excited, talking about this training, and about what they could learn.
While they were on their way, Toge was sitting in his seat, silent, watching the scene around him. He wasn't as excited as the rest of the students, but he realized the importance of this training.
"... I can't hide my excitement," Toge couldn't help but crack a smile, especially since this was the day he would finally meet Shigaraki.
