After some time, Lu Nian arrived at the bus station. The night air was still and heavy, the streetlamps casting a pale glow over the empty road. His heart sank the moment his eyes found Yichen sitting on the ground, shoulders shaking as he cried.
Lu Nian rushed out of the taxi, his steps quick and uneven. "Yichen," he called, his voice trembling in worry. "What happened? Why are you crying like this? Please, stand up first."
Yichen looked up with teary eyes, his words broken. "Lu Nian… ahh… Lu…"
"Come, let's stand," Lu Nian said softly as he reached down, taking Yichen's hand and pulling him gently to his feet.
The moment Yichen stood, he threw himself into Lu Nian's arms, sobbing uncontrollably. Lu Nian's chest tightened as he wrapped an arm around him and patted his head, whispering, "Let's go home. It's too late for you to be here like this."
