Chapter 1 - Let the Journey Begin

The world of Remnant is a place of infinite wonder. Sure, there are the creatures of Grimm, but ever since the Great War ended, Remnant has experienced an era of peace unheard of in generations. The four Kingdoms—Atlas, Vale, Vacuo and Mistral—have been coexisting with one another for decades following the Great War. Things like Art and Culture have thrived in this new era. However, it is up to the Huntsmen and Huntresses to uphold this well-earned peace and to protect Humanity from the Grimm. It's with these Huntsmen and Huntresses that our story begins. Kostas Helios is a man who aspires to redefine what it means to be a Huntsmen. Not for personal glory or status, but so that others will do their best for the sake of others. Kostas has a strong belief that no matter what or who you are, you have the right to choose. To choose what path to follow, to choose how you want to live your life. No one deserves to have their choices being made by someone else. No matter how good or evil they may be. Choice is a god given right of all sentient beings.

With this belief, Kostas took that to heart and trained to become a Huntsmen from a young age. He showed great promise in his skills and ability to grasp concepts better than most. But it was still a struggle to put that concept to practice. While he could grasp it mentally, physically was a different story. He soon became adept at using a Blade and Gun which led him to create Prometheus. A Kopis/Revolver combination weapon. It can transform into either a Kopis or a revolver. He also has a retractable circular shield that retracts into his left gauntlet. Kostas originally wanted to go to Haven Academy, but he thought otherwise as he preferred to go to Beacon Academy just like his cousin Pyrrha Nikos. However, he wanted to surprise Pyrrha with his arrival at Beacon, so he didn't tell her. He was currently on an airship heading towards Beacon Academy and he was just checking his weapons while he sat on one of the benches on the airship.

Kostas wears a striking set of armor, characterized by a rich bronze hue, though it is crafted from a resilient, durable metal designed specifically for combat. The centerpiece is a finely crafted torso plate featuring an intricate sun motif embossed into the chest, which happened to be his emblem. His gauntlets are adorned with flame-like patterns molded directly into the metal, giving them a dynamic and fiery aesthetic that complements his fierce determination. Protecting his shins are sleek greaves, seamlessly integrated into the rest of his outfit, providing both mobility and defense. His feet are encased in semi-armored boots—functional yet flexible—allowing swift movement across the battlefield. Flowing behind him is a vibrant vermillion cape, adding a regal and commanding presence to his appearance. Beneath his armor he wears a simple, yet practical black short sleeve shirt paired with tactical black pants—combining comfort, agility, and readiness for combat. Kostas has dark brown slightly messy, textured styled hair that reflects a natural, rugged look.

Kostas soon sheathes his sword and stands up from the bench before walking through the airship, he stops as he spots a holographic screen showing the mugshot of Roman Torchwick, a notorious criminal.

"The robbery was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities." the News person said. "If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police department. Back to you, Lisa."

Kostas knows little about Torchwick, he knows he's a major criminal who's stolen in at least all the Kingdoms. He's evaded the law numerous times and always seems to be one step ahead. The Mugshot then changes to Lisa with a photo of animal-eared demonstrators holding signs saying, "WE ARE NOT ANIMALS!"

"Thank you, Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted-" Lisa said but her words were cut off as the screen vanished.

The screen was replaced by the hologram of a woman with blond hair and the way she held herself told Kostas she was a professional. But his mind stayed on the White Fang part. They used to be peaceful people, but one day that all changed. Kostas hopes that one day he can prevent the misguided from doing something drastic.

"Hello, and welcome to Beacon." The woman said. "My name is Glynda Goodwitch. You are among the privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world."

The hologram disappears and Kostas takes in Glynda's words. He'll do his best to ensure a bright future for all, that's his goal. He then begins to think about what he'll experience in Beacon. He knows Huntsmen form teams so he's wondering who his teammates will be. Maybe his cousin Pyrrha will be on his team, who knows. He was about to walk away from the spot he was at, but he heard a surprised voice.

"Kostas?" a familiar feminine voice asked.

Kostas turned to the voice and saw his cousin Pyrrha Nikos. A big smile came to his face as he walked towards his cousin.

"Pyrrha! Haha!" Kostas said, before he embraced her, glad to see his cousin. He stops embracing her soon after. "How've you been?"

"I've been good." Pyrrha said, glad to see her cousin. "I didn't expect you to come to Beacon."

"Couldn't leave my cousin to experience the world of the Huntress alone." Kostas said playfully.

"No matter what happens, it always seems like we'll face it together." Pyrrha points out.

Kostas and Pyrrha were close as they grew up together. They took part in tournaments together and they trained together. They did a lot together and they'll continue to do things together till the end. At least that was the plan. They first must pass initiation and then be put into teams. When the airship arrives at Beacon Academy, Kostas, Pyrrha and all the future students step off the airship. Both Kostas and Pyrrha take the sight of Beacon in before making their way to the Amphitheatre where everyone else was going. Once they arrived the two of them found a spot and stood there for a few moments. Soon, a microphone starting noise is heard and everyone turns to the stage as all conversations stop in an instant. On the stage was the headmaster of Beacon Academy, Professor Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch. Ozpin stood by a microphone as he soon began speaking.

"I'll... keep this brief." Ozpin said, beginning his speech. "You have travelled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy. In need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far."

Murmurs can be heard amongst the large crowd of future students.

"It is up to you to take the first step." Ozpin said, finishing his speech.

Ozpin then begins to leave the stage while Glynda steps up to the microphone.

"You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed." Glynda said.

She then leaves soon after and murmurs continue. Kostas and Pyrrha look at each other unsure how to take that speech.
