Chapter 4 - The curiosity of a child

Nianshen originally intended to take Nianhua out of the Cradle Universe, but this turned out to be impossible.

Although Nianhua had become the Concept of Principle, surpassing all laws and transcending the entirety of the universes within the Cradle Universe,

In essence, Nianshen was something beyond Nianhua's comprehension. This fundamental gap in nature was the reason she couldn't leave the Cradle Universe.

What Nianhua perceived of Nianshen was merely a projection allowed by her own awareness and permitted by Nianshen himself.

At this moment, Nianhua was curious about fourth-tier and fifth-tier universes. After all, she had only been born from a third-tier universe. The concept of fourth and fifth-tier universes was something she heard of for the first time after receiving knowledge from Nianshen.

Her sparkling eyes, accompanied by a slightly pouting face, turned toward Nianshen, silently requesting to visit those higher-tier universes.

Nianshen easily understood her intention not because he could read thoughts, but thanks to the familial bond between him and Nianhua.

In the blink of an eye, they had shifted into a fourth-tier universe. From the Cradle Universe's perspective, it was just a speck of strange light, but upon entering, everything seemed rebuilt from scratch.

The scenery changed endlessly. This fourth-tier universe had a high-level layered structure.

Each layer was an infinite domain, vastly surpassing the previous layer's infinity.

The lowest layer was merely infinity stacked upon infinity. The next layer encompassed the lower infinite layers, and so on, stretching infinitely through definable levels. Yet the entire structure existed within one space.

A space governed by concepts, which enabled the structure to exist. These concepts were different from Nianshen. They were simpler only overseeing this fourth-tier universe.

Whereas Nianshen encompassed all, ruling over everything.

Nianhua looked at those concepts with deep curiosity. She wondered what kind of concepts they were.

Within the space existed countless concepts. Concepts of mathematics, concept of physics, concept of matter, concept of soul, concept of perception… it could be said that all concepts resided in this space.

Nianhua delightfully observed the floating concepts and gently touched them. Instantly, they dissolved into the void like bubbles.

Her eyes sparkled as she watched them vanish, just like a child fascinated by what brought her joy. Nianshen unconsciously smiled at this sight.

He gestured for Nianhua to go play inside. She nodded and cheerfully flew in, playing freely.

With every turn of her body, countless concepts dissolved into nothingness. With each point of her finger, structures of infinity collapsed.

This oddity stemmed from Nianhua's essence. What she carried within was a concept that transcended all other concepts. If Nianshen had personally manifested in that space, the entire fourth-tier universe would have vanished just by his presence.

However, Nianhua was a fusion partly composed of third-tier universal laws, and partly of Nianshen's concept forced together by Nianshen himself to avoid unnecessary pain for her.

Because of that, Nianhua's presence had been somewhat diluted. She could only passively cause dissolution, not actively.

Simply put, Nianhua's transcendence still lingered within a layer close to, but not yet fully reaching, the Cradle Universe.

Seeing Nianhua so happy made Nianshen even more pleased he allowed her to destroy as she pleased. After all, it was just a fourth-tier universe. Perhaps even a fifth-tier one would be the same.

After a while, Nianhua seemed to grow tired of playing. She flew happily back toward Nianshen and clung to his leg.

Understanding her intent, Nianshen picked her up in his arms. They then moved to another fourth-tier universe.

Nianhua, growing increasingly curious, now wanted to experience being human. She wanted to know what it felt like to have friends.

Upon hearing this, Nianshen seemed to ponder. Until now, he had wandered the Cradle Universe purely out of curiosity.

Was his curiosity also tied to such ordinary things?

Moreover, Nianshen believed this might contribute to the evolution of Nianhua's essence.

He thought so but wasn't certain. Still, he wanted to try.

With a thought, Nianshen transported them to a regular second-tier universe.

There, Nianhua and Nianshen intervened in the will of the governing law, altering their existences once more.

This time, they would be able to die, to feel pain, to experience lack and loss. But after death, they would return to their original states.

Nianhua expressed that she still wanted to be Nianshen's daughter. Nianshen didn't hesitate to agree. And so, the two of them began to incarnate into mortal beings.
