Adrian's POV
I crashed my lips against hers.
The kiss was slow, gentle, and probably the worst idea I'd ever had in my entire life. But you know what? It worked. Her devastating sobs stopped instantly, her body going still against mine.
I pulled back and let go of her, my heart hammering in my chest. She stared at me with wide, blank eyes, like she couldn't quite process what had just happened.
We stood there in silence for a long moment, just looking at each other. Finally, I cleared my throat and extended my hand toward her. "Shall we go home?"
She looked at me, then at my outstretched hand, and after what felt like an eternity, she nodded and placed her small hand in mine.
The moment our skin touched, something electric shot up my arm. I tried to ignore it as I held her hand, helping her take a step forward.
"Ahhhh!" she cried out, immediately stumbling.
"What's wrong?" I asked, worry flooding through me faster than I cared to admit.
