Adrian's POV
The rage burning through my veins was unlike anything I'd ever felt before.
Four bodies lay bleeding on the filthy alley ground, but the fire inside me burned hotter than the depths of hell itself. Blake was going absolutely insane in my head, pacing like a caged predator ready to tear apart anything that moved.
Not enough. Kill them again, he growled, his voice dripping with bloodlust. Rip them apart. Make them pay.
Oh, I couldn't agree more.
Death was too quick, too merciful for what they'd tried to do to her. My finger twitched against the trigger, and for a wild moment, I wished I could bring them back to life just so I could kill them slower.
But they were dead. And she was...
I walked closer to where she crouched on the ground. She looked so fragile, shaking like a frightened animal. Something twisted painfully in my chest, but I pushed it away.
She is just your enemy's daughter, I reminded myself harshly. Nothing more.
