Chapter 7 - Overlord: Lord of Dawn/Лорд Рассвета Lasombra Chapter 7

The Floor Guardians have confirmed the change of the Supreme Ruler of Nazarick.

From this moment on, they all obey me, and their subordinates must obey them - according to the logic of things. Good news, giving confidence in the allies standing behind. In the current situation, this is as necessary as a living person needs water or air. To fight against one's own and against others at the same time is very annoying. It sounds sadder than a war on several fronts.

- Wonderful, simply wonderful, you can rise from your knees. The throne room floor was not intended for worship, we designed it for a different purpose. Your knees do not need to absorb the cold of the obsidian covering, - I extended both palms forward in a friendly manner and waved them slightly upward, making it clear that there was no need to get carried away with servility.

Besides, looking at the prostrate creatures did not bring joy, I have other values in this life. After all, I am an ordinary person, so I am more impressed by looking indifferently at people lying down, preferably on the operating table.

Eh, the change in my preferences causes quite a dissonance.

"Thank you for your favor. I will be glad to hear your orders, Lord of Dawn," Demiurge was the first to rise to his feet, doing so elegantly, as if casually demonstrating an example to the others. He has the right to do so. His etiquette and manners make one involuntarily applaud, albeit silently.

True, Demiurge's sly smile can be confused with a conspiratorial one, but the guardian of the seventh floor is sacredly devoted to the ideology of Nazarick, elevating it to the absolute. The creator of this creation, Ulbert, said that a psychological sadist is obliged to look at least suspicious, while leaving the audience with a false impression of himself.

"Oh, no! You've taken a thorny path, stop, do better, like me! Let's have her play a yandere? Think like a yandere, but not be a yandere! The true path of a traitor is without betrayal, ho-ho-ho," Ulbert Alain Odle expressed his opinion in a mocking and theatrical manner. He watched with amusement as I tried to give Kurumi a few yandere notes in the settings.

It was a fun time, and now about the orders. Unfortunately, they could not be given during the three-second thoughtfulness, because Shalltear wanted to put forward an interesting proposal.

"If you wish, especially if you wish for me to warm your bed with my body," Shalltear fidgeted with her hands, excitingly and provocatively voicing her secret desires. How can I put it... A true vampire quickly adapts to any situation. It's quite a shame that this rule works in such a vulgar direction.

"Is your icy body capable of warming anything?" Aura's provocative accusation and question has the potential to infuriate the already restless vampire.

However, it is curious to hear something like this from a supposedly "close relative". The younger brother of the creator of Aura claimed that the world is overflowing with a variety of fetishes, as well as their lovers. For example, "some people prefer hot water bottles, while others want an ice bath."

Of course, I will never repeat some of his statements out loud, as well as my own thoughts. The thing is that I like to joke about myself, and the result of humorous thoughts can easily be perceived as mockery.

Evil jibes and perverted remarks must be responded to with dignity, which few guildmates were capable of. The old comrades are gone, and in their place have come revived NPCs who have accepted much from the creators who put their souls into them. Much, but excluding the soul itself from the list of acceptance. I am forbidden to joke out loud more maliciously, since mocking NPCs who have no way to respond is beneath my dignity; disgusting and vile. To do something like that, I, how can I put it, disdain.

"Gyayar," Shalltear made a strange sound and looked at the small elf with a bit of resentment. "What did you just say, flat-bottomed girl?"

"Fake boobs talk a lot, but mine haven't grown yet," Aura returned the jibe about breasts. At the same time, she proudly stuck out her childish chest and kept a victorious smile on her face. Her multi-colored eyes looked with satisfaction at the panicking vampire.

"Children's quarrels are interesting, but why don't you hold off on them," I suggested in a playful tone, raising my index finger upward, slowly losing my understanding of what was happening.

Aura swallowed nervously at my kind words, closed her legs and lowered her head apologetically. Shalltear, however, muttered something embarrassed and excited.

"Shalltear, later... we'll talk," Albedo's eyebrow twitched slightly, and her evil aura could burst out at any moment. Direct her anger at her competitor, so to speak, in girlish affairs. "We'll talk seriously," more of a threat from the succubus made me roll my eyes inwardly. I hope they don't create two fan clubs and then start an all-out war for dakimakura supremacy.

Ah, youth is such a beautiful thing.

The golden time of the blossoming of love and the search for a lover.

Wait a minute...

I'm not an old coot, and given the admittedly short list of dances in my bed, I shouldn't have noticed such details right away. If anatomy gives you an understanding of monsters, then what does understanding the emotions of others and their desires give you?

- Well, well, a war has begun for my creator. Ouch, I turned away for a second, and now such passions are already here, - putting her palm on her cheek, and also mixing a threat and mockery, Kurumi joined in on what was happening.

How much noise was created in a once quiet place.

It's time to give orders and observe the guards from a remote location. Private life and personal space? Something familiar, I'll definitely remember at my leisure. But before that, it's time to rein in the out-of-control NPCs a little.

"Aura of Ten Thousand Death"

There are special skills.

Getting them in Yggdrasil is problematic, for example, "Aura of Ten Thousand Death" is one of the abilities with a difficult condition to acquire. The player will need to kill ten thousand unique players alone, using only their own strength, and without resorting to the help of summoned creatures.

Then the player can study one of the most powerful auras in the game through a nightmare quest. According to the game description, it affects the victim's will to win. In reality, this was reflected by a minute weakening of all the characteristics of the surrounding creatures by half.

A dark scarlet wave enveloped all the floor guards, instantly returning their attention to me, completely pinning it down, like sticks with nails. The aura didn't cause any damage, but judging by the frightened look of my fan, she suspects my extreme disappointment in their behavior.

Also, not all guardians got a stat reduction, which is also good. The aura is certainly strong, but I can remember fifteen more Yggdrasil players also committing genocide against solo players.

"Lord of Dawn, we apologize for our carelessness, we did not mean to offend you," Albedo's concern was picked up by other NPCs, only they voiced it in their own way.

"Everything is fine," I said calmly, not expressing a shred of indignation at all. True, there were still swirls of ominous aura in the space, but it would soon dissipate, like the beautiful moments of Spring, and its remnants could be used for surveillance.

Now the attention of all the guards is riveted on me, which means I need to start giving orders.

But which ones?

Hm…

Okay, I'll try to trust my instincts.

— Albedo, organize a full census of the inhabitants of Nazarick, excluding the three laboratory sections, which are forbidden to enter absolutely all creatures without access rights. Find out the wishes, suggestions and complaints of everyone who wants to express them, and then pass all the information to me, — first I turned to the dazzling fan with a beautiful body and abilities. I hope that my addition to her settings did not spoil my friend's creation, because Albedo's intellect should not be much inferior to Demiurge.

And unlike him, she's sweet.

As for the order, I have a lot of work and little free time to sit on the throne carelessly while waiting for guests, and letting things slide is not my style. After all, if I took over the reins of Nazarick for the sake of greater control over the situation, then I must squeeze the maximum out of the assigned role.

As we know, any job offers not only benefits, but also obligations. It would probably be nice if each of the inhabitants spoke out about their sore points, after which I would have the opportunity to solve a mountain of problems with a quick pen, and not a slow tongue.

- I will do everything necessary, but you can be sure that there will be no complaints. We were created for the benefit of higher beings, - I hope she will not eliminate all sources of complaints in the most radical way so that there really will be none.

"Demiurge, you are responsible for the defense of our abode. I understand how busy you are, but I have a mission specially created for you. Prepare an expedition, cordoning off a circle with a radius of one hundred kilometers around Nazarick. In the process, use replenishable creatures from which it is impossible to extract any information when captured by the enemy. You are also given access to all five hundred chimeras from the first section of the laboratory," I was surprised that the orders were not given in a dry or monotonous tone.

It all sounded like a banal story about how my friends and I were sitting in a bar and what we saw behind the bar. Of course, my helmet made my voice more muffled, which is why it sounded ominous, but there was still a sense of goodwill and cheerfulness in it.

How fake is it?

Considering the uncharacteristic gestures for me when giving orders, reminiscent of a cheerful guy raised to the absolute - then the personality has definitely changed. After all, in my head every now and then I had to hold various thoughts about various experiments, prohibited by all the conventions of the past and the new world.

"With the resources I have, I can cover a larger area, if you only wish," Demiurge said, smiling contentedly and with a bit of happiness, like an employee who had received a high assessment of his talent and abilities from his superiors.

But we don't need to explore a larger radius yet.

The greater the spread in information search, the greater the loss of quality.

Okay, I'll discuss this with him later.

"Aure and Mare, restrict the approach to Nazarick by land, and also create an underground tunnel to the upper floor. Use whatever it takes, from changing the terrain to setting up deadly traps. There is no point in disguising the crypt, as there are many magical items for detecting life and death. Focus solely on killing and weakening potential pests, no one should get through. If necessary, I will separate the second-level chimeras from the section on the sixth floor, but you are personally forbidden from going down to the "Ant Hill" — that is the name I give to the second section of the laboratory.

I remember that many players who wanted to defeat our guild fell to her at the time. It was not difficult for us to defeat the surviving, tortured and exhausted members of the expedition, practically by throwing slippers at them. They resembled doomed warriors who were ready to voluntarily impale their bodies on pikes after the battle in the Anthill.

Fortunately, albeit with some difficulty, I managed to pass all the censorship tests. Many players from the Alliance sent a mountain of complaints to the Yggdrasil game masters about the Anthill, tearfully crying about the horror thriller, so the admins had to react.

"Umm… It's scary there," Mare shuddered, having a basic understanding of the structure of my facility on the sixth underground floor, the guardians of which he and his sister act as.

"We'll do everything in the best possible way, boss," Aura childishly showed her thumb, but under Albedo's displeased gaze, she quickly returned to the pose of an attentive servant.

Basically, Aura and Mare need to deprive the enemy of ground attacks at this stage. So the entrance and exit to Nazarick will be through the sky, teleportation, or the underground passage they built.

The traps proved themselves well during the attack of the Alliance of Eight Guilds. And since we are not limited by the game and the administration, I should not be blocked for overly malicious pranks. In Yggdrasil, the Arianda system worked, which does not allow impassable obstacles to be made in the dungeons, which Nazarick was before our arrival. Now that we have been transferred to another place and there is no connection with the game masters, we can begin to slowly test the waters in the direction of a completely impregnable defense.

I hope my overconfidence doesn't ruin me.

- Cocytus, help Mara and Aura with the trap planning. You are an experienced warrior, with a decent level of knowledge of military tactics and assault. You just need to throw in a couple of ideas on how various saboteurs would storm our house in your place. For example, which routes would be most effective for this, and how amateurs would act, - just in case, I decided to involve Cocytus in helping two young elves. They are still children, and they may not fully understand how to properly set traps for people and a dragon.

"Pshhh, you overestimate me, but I will do everything in my power," like a true samurai, Cocytus distinguished himself with modesty and enthusiasm in carrying out orders.

By the way, I didn't choose him as an assistant by chance. His creator... he had to suffer from the desire to defeat Touch Me, therefore, he must have a plan for this - and stick to it. In the long run, it's really great if Takemikazuchi wrote down different tactics in his NPC settings.

- Kurumi, control the entrance to the third section of the laboratory - the most dangerous of the creatures I created are there, they have no will of their own. Be careful when guarding the "door". Opening it without extreme necessity is prohibited - as if a father warns his daughter against stupidity, so I tried to give Kurumi the order as gently as possible, but at the same time reminding her of the danger of rash decisions. I would not be surprised if the girl sealed the Anthill on the sixth floor with a red tape saying "do not enter", but the same will not work with the third section.

The eighth floor is not safe, but even there there are bigger fish.

The best thing to do is to prevent the creatures lost on the eighth floor from opening Pandora's Box, which can teleport the entire guild straight to a branch of hell. I spent several quarterly bonuses on equipping the third section, creating such dangerous creatures there that they can easily take the motto: "we are inadequate - run."

- As you command, father, - a beautiful smile can brighten up any diamond, I hope she won't have to guard the entrance to the lab for too long. I have a couple of ideas on how to seal it for the time being.

"Shaltear, you have exactly one day to prepare for your foray to the surface. You'll go with me, so I'll be expecting you by tomorrow evening."

There is a good proverb: if you want something done well, do it yourself.

Or in pleasant company, which is not bad.

Of all the creatures in Nazarick, I find it easiest to work with a night monster. After all, I am a nightblade, and a balanced vampire would be my ideal partner. And it's not even because Shalltear has many skills that I need, which I usually replace with consumables.

- Qya... With the master? We'll have a date! - Overflowing with embarrassment and delight, the vampire's face flushed, as if the light of the scarlet moon fell on her. It seems that it is better not to look at the face distorted in ecstasy, so as not to lose faith in vampires.

"I'll leave you here," using the guild ring to teleport, I found myself back on the third underground floor of Nazarick. It's the most comfortable place for me to be. And especially to observe the situation in the throne room through the artifact "Evil in the Aura." I didn't need to attract the guards' attention solely by releasing an aura, but there was no reason to refuse it.

Combined business with pleasure, so to speak.
