Chapter 36 - Divine Beast Hunt

While Alrin was in closed door cultivation trying to master fuse his energies four immortals are currently trekking through the Circle of Sen Beasts.

The birth of a divine beast was a phenomenon that was similar to tribulation of a cultivator. The difference was that instead of the universe trying to strike down the divine beast it was giving it it's blessing.

As the immortals moved through the Circle they had stopped flying because it would attract far too much attention. It was still in the process of being born but both humans and beasts would be vying to bring it under them before it could fully establish itself as a powerhouse. This meant that in the present situation keeping a low profile was of the utmost importance especially while in the land of the beasts.

"Rat how much further do we need to travel?" Warren asked.

Sasha had used her abilities of the Taming Path to turn the rat into a slave to prevent it from betraying them.

"We will soon be entering the territory of the poison overlord." The rat replied.

"Good start sending your phantoms out to scout. Prioritize the discovery of other immortals over the divine beast." Warren said.

"What we need to fine the divine beast first!?" Sasha loudly questioned.

"Sasha calm down and think for a moment." Daer said.

"About what."

"First the divine beast has yet to be born. Second Sasha what will be more of a problem in capturing the divine beast? Human immortals beasts or immortal beasts?"

"Wouldn't it be the poison overlord?" She since she believed it was the strongest beast in this region. Although an immortal Sasha had only ever handled affairs regarding beasts.

"No it will almost always be humans, beasts of that level rarely work together unlike people. Once the divine beast is born every person we deal with before them increases out chances of capturing it." Warren explained

"Yes if the poison overlord caught the divine beast we would still have a good chance of retrieving it but if another sect captures it then the situation changes drastically." Elaine added

After the conversation was over they continued their trek through the poison overlord's territory. Just existing here was becoming difficult more for ordinary living being but nature here had adapted to live in such a environment.

If one did not know how dangerous the air alone here was they would think the scenery was at the top of the list for most beautiful in the world. The nature here that had survived all had vibrant colors. The leaves of the trees were a bright blue, while the grass below them was a vibrant orange. Even the beasts here were all uniquely vibrant that would stand out anywhere else but not here.

As they moved through this territory they passed hundreds of beast but not a single one of them noticed their presence. This was due to the script Elaine was using on them that kept them hidden. It was strong enough that even superior immortals would have trouble detecting it.

After another two hours of traveling passed the rat suddenly stopped them, "I found a group of people 6 humans."

"What is their appearance and distance?" Warren asked.

"They are all wearing orange robes with the design of a chain wrapping around their left arms. They are approximately 10 miles away."

"I'm not familiar with any such sects." Daer said.

"Are they from a different region or a new smaller sect?" Elaine questioned.

"Rat give them a warning to leave or they will be killed." Warren said he was ruthless but would give them a chance to live.

Coming out of the shadows not far from where the group of people were was a the rats phantom. Using it he approached them not hiding his presence in the slightest anymore.

Sensing the presence the 6 people guards immediately went up. They watched the rat approach but did not instantly attack.

"Stop or we will attack!" The leader of the group shouted.

"I'm here to deliver a message leave or be killed." The rat said to them.

"Why should we listen to you?" The leader questioned.

"Do as you'd like I am simply the messenger." He said not caring about whether they lived or died.

"Kill him." The leader spoke.

Hearing that the phantom tried to runaway but it was immediately bisected in two but another of the group.

"They chose to stay."

"How would you evaluate their strength." Warren asked.

"Only one of them had a dangerous feeling about them but compared to the feeling I get from you its nothing."

"Continue to follow them with your phantoms and continue searching the area." Warren said he was quite satisfied with the usefulness of this beast.

"It's seems we will be showing them how high the heaven's are before they are sent down." Daer said to which Elaine shook her head.

"I'm not really confident in fighting other people." Sasha said.

"Sasha don't worry you won't be fighting this time." Warren said to reassure her.

An hour later the group of orange robes people was chasing down an immortal beast. What they did not know was that this was one of Sasha's tamed beasts. The beast they were chasing was an immortal snake that Sasha had made to appear injured and poisoned in order to lure them into hunting it.

Killing or capturing a weakened immortal beast was just too tempting for them to easily give up on. While they chased it they did maintain some caution as they attacked from a distance.

"Even if I die if you keep chasing I'll lead you to the overlord so we can die together!" The snake shouted as it was being attacked.

"Just consider it your unlucky day." Another female orange robed cultivator replied too it.

"Damned humans don't think I won't destroy my world and myself!" It continued to shout as it was pretending to try to escape.

"Your body will still be worth quite a bit." Another one spoke.

Eventually the snake began to slow down as they got closer causing them to speed up to catch it. It was at the moment they caught up to it that the trap activated and they were trapped in Elaine's formation.

Surprisingly the only one to enter the formation was Warren and the snake left.

"You should have heeded my warning but I'm glad you didn't." He said to them as his aura erupted filling the whole formation.

"BREAK THE FORMATION NOW!" The leader shouted feeling his aura.

"Inner worl—" The leader tried to speak but it was too late.

"My inner world is already open." Warren said as he beheaded the leader with a slash of his hand.

Warren was a cultivator of the killing path and unlike Edward he pursued it of his own free will. This path was naturally risky so fully pursue it he had imposed binds onto his cultivation and if he broke them he would lose it. The first is he must give people at least one chance to escape before he could kill them. The second was that the enemy must be the first ones to attack him or an ally. Lastly he could not seek out people to kill for the joy of it.

Appearing next to another orange robed cultivator he was also killed in one attack. Then the second, the third and in the end only one was left alive. It was at this point Elaine entered to stop him from continuing.

"Warren leave her alive!" She shouted.

Hearing her voice his lust for killing cooled a bit but he still cut off her limbs to prevent her from trying anything.

"Go clear your head I'll deal with this." Elaine told him.

Heeding her words he walked out of the formation and told the rat to put him in an illusion so he could calm his mind.

Seeing that Warren was out Daer and Sasha entered the formation. Seeing the sight Sasha felt like throwing up she was not used to seeing such sights.

"Now if you want to live I suggest you tell me what you are here for and who you are?" Elaine said looking down on her.

"We're from the life chain sect in the east. We found out about the divine beast and wanted to capture in order to rise and become one of the great sects." She said not wanting to die.

"What tier of immortals is your sect made of?"

"Only our sect leader is a true immortal. The rest of us are either superior or false immortals."

"Now then what are the chances this is all true?" Elaine asked her.

Hearing that she was about to question what she meant when her eyes suddenly opened.

"The dream path is very useful for questioning don't you think?" Elaine asked her.

"Glory to the Beast!" Saying that he woman tried to blow herself up but Elaine even prevented that.

"Sorry this is still a dream." She said before vanishing before the woman's eyes causing her greatest nightmares to appear.

"The Cult of the Beast is back…" She said massaging her temples from stress. The fact people could be so stupid was truly astounding.

"It seems as long as it remains alive people will follow it." Daer said.

"Cult of the Beast?" Sasha asked being a relatively younger immortal.

"They are just some idiots who believe that the sealed Leviathan is a savior and not the beast from the prophecy."

"Oh… that's unique." Sasha said.

"If by you unique you mean only people with with earth snakes for brains would believe it then yeah." Daer said.

Shortly after he said that Warren returned having calmed his mind, "Anything useful?"

"The Cult of the Beast is back and they are trying to gather divine beasts to free it."Elaine explained.

"…oh at least this will provide me with some entertainment." He said that but knew dealing with them was going to be a pain. "Sasha report this information back to the sect we will guard you while do that."

While Sasha was doing that Warren finished off the woman since she was useless now. Half the immortals that had been killed were false immortals, while the other 3 were superior immortals.

The fallen worlds of the false immortals weren't worth the trouble of claiming so he gave them to the rat. The superior immortals were still worth the trouble of dealing with.

Claiming a fallen world could be done in 2 ways. Once a cultivator died the fallen world would manifest in the real world where said cultivator had died. The fallen world be far smaller than even a marble and would be fixed in space unless one of two things happened.

Unlike inner worlds fallen worlds could be entered by cultivator's to be claimed. This lead to the first way of claiming it and that was to appease the will of the fallen world typically by achieving whatever the greatest wish of the cultivator was before dying.

The second harder way was to annex the fallen world. This way was done by forcing the fallen world into your own inner world. The will of the fallen world would naturally try to fight back so the cultivator would have to enter their world leaving their physical body defenseless in the mean time. This was also not as easy as it sounded since a cultivator would only enter spiritually they would be weaker. On the other hand being made from the last will of an immortal the fallen world spirit would typically be stronger that it would have been normally.

"Elaine you can annex a world first." Warren said to her.

"Are you sure" Elaine asked to which he nodded. "Well I won't say no."

Sasha woke up shortly after Elaine started her annexing of the fallen world.

"Did the sect leader say anything."

"He said proceed as you see fit."

"Then we will continue our hunt."

After an hour Elaine woke up after finishing her annex who was then followed by Sasha and Daer afterwards.

"We will now proceed with our hunt."
