Chapter 38 - Divine Beast Hunt III

While the inner worlds were all released an in effect their was one individual completely unbothered and it was tortoise. It looked like it was having the time of its life freely moving about the space.

"Warren I'd like to form an alliance to deal with those three as for who gets the divine beast we can settle that after." The Sacred Sect team leader suggested. She was a young woman with long blond hair, and hazel eyes.

"Dianna… I'll agree to it." Warren said familiar with this individual.

Both of them had the same mentality that no matter what the Fortune-Sealing Sect and the Poison Overlord could not get their hands on the divine beast. It each other's sect got it then it was at least tolerable since they were close allies.

"I'll deal with the roc you can go wild with those guys over there." She said familiar with his personality and thus the alliance was formed in less than a second.

Now that the alliance was formed their goal was simply to stall the other 3 and let their groups handle it. This was because neither would be of help with capturing the beast but the moment capturing it failed it would be a different story.

While those five were now keeping each other occupied the rest of the immortals down below had begun trying to capture the tortoise. The only exception was the Life-Death Clan who realized they were out of their depth and thus retreated to a defense stance.

With Warren out of the picture the one to take the lead was Daer for the Star Sect, "Sasha if you get a hold of the beast can you tame it." He wanted to confirm since it confirm since it was a divine beast.

"I can since it is still only a newborn." She said confident and excited at the prospect.

"Then stay close to me. Elaine and I will create an opportunity for you to capture it. If you succeed we will immediately use its ability to escape if not killing it is all we can do."

Saying that the three took off toward the Fortune-Sealing Sect immortals while every other group of immortals did the same except the one. Currently the cultivators of the Fortune-Sealing Sect are the closest to capturing the tortoise but as soon as they get the chance reality distorts and it vanished appearing in a new location.

This time the location it chose to appear at was on the back of one of the lesser immortal rocs. The moment it realized this was the moment it saw a dozen immortals flying at it. Feeling a chill run down its back it immediately flew as fast as it could to the rest of its group when a formation appeared causing it to slam into the formation.

The roc may have crashed into it but the tortoise went flying phasing right through the formation landing next to the immortals from the Life-Death Clan. Seeing them the tortoise turned its head towards them and as they ran it watched as a childlike laugh came out of it.

Meanwhile the Sacred Sect was the next to appear and try to capture it.

"Soul Blight!" The group of immortals shouted shouted trying to knock out the beast.

Seeing this the tortoise looked around and saw a perfect target. Reality distorted and where the tortoise once was an immortal from the Fortune-Sealing Sect appeared getting hit off guard by the attack. Having been completely unprepared for both the teleportation and the attack the immortal was instantly put into an eternal slumber only they would be able to wake it from. After he was hit he immediately the rest of the immortals and a fight between the two sects started to break out.

While they were fighting the tortoise looked around to see who it could play with next. It truly was full of energy despite having just been born. It's eyes eventually landed on the blaze that covered the two headed hellhound and decided to go take a closer look at it.

As it was approaching the hellhound the Star Sect made their move. Daer appeared in front of it causing it stop and look at him. In the next moment a formation appeared around the tortoise creating a barrier around it. Standing atop the barrier formation was Elaine who were going to buy as much time for Sasha as they could. The barrier was not meant to keep the tortoise in it was meant to keep the others out while Sasha would tame it inside of the formation.

"Hey little guy, what's your name?" She said maintaining a small distance but he voice contained a persuasiveness to it from the path of taming.

"Name I don't have one." It answered having been bestowed the knowledge by the universe.

"Everyone has a name don't you want one?" Sasha asked.

"Who will give me a name?" It asked.

"You can give one to yourself or if you have someone you like they can give one to you." She said as the tortoise was unknowingly falling into her pace.

"What would be a good name?" It asked.

"How about Jerovia doesn't that sound cool?" She said.

"I like it!" It said joyfully.

"Then do you want to come with me and that can me your name?" She asked.

"Yeah!" It said feeling very happy.

Sasha had succeeded but that was a critical mistake as the Fortune-Sealing Sect had got what they had been waiting for. Once the tortoise had agreed to go with Sasha a Karmic Bond had been formed.

"Now!" The leader of the Fortune-Sealing Sect disciples shouted out at that moment.

Suddenly that had been hidden on the tortoise appeared and began wrapping itself around the single Karmic bond that had just been created. In the next moment the Karmic bond was stolen and using the Karmic bond they ensnared the tortoise with it. Once it was ensnared they pulled it through space towards them right into their hands.

Sasha had tried to break the thread but she simply did not have the ability to and Daer was unfortunately also slowed by the barrier meant to protect her.

This had been their plan from the beginning they could not from a Karmic bond with it but that did not mean no one else could. The only reason they had even revealed themselves early was because they needed to appear to attach a Karmic thread to it to capture the Karmic bond when it was created.

Their goal was never a large battle between all the immortals here. No it had all been planned out and everything had gone as they had foreseen. The Fortune-Sealing Sect disciples all gathered together and just as they were about to make their escape reality vibrating but it was not the doing of the tortoise.

The vibrating was caused by the power of an unknown cultivator appearing in front of the tortoise. Their face was completely hidden but they wore striking gold and white robes.

The cultivator reached out and grabbed the tortoise from the hands of the Fortune-Sealing Sect immortals. They along with everyone else in the area were unable to do anything not even blink. Once the cultivator had the tortoise in their hands the Karmic bond broke along with any Karmic threads left on it freeing the tortoise but even it could not move. The cultivator did not linger once it had the tortoise disappearing in the next moment. Silence filled the area after the unknown cultivator disappeared. No one had expected this especially not the Fortune-Sealing Sect.

"You…Fools! The poison overlord shouted as it began rampaging. With no need to hold back deadly poison began to cover the area.

The Fortune-Sealing sect was the first to make an escape also grabbing the immortal trapped in a slumber but when they escaped they left the barrier trapping the rest with the poison overlord up.

In another area the cultivator began speaking to the tortoise, "I saved you from a life of slavery for this you owe me a life debt do you agree." A woman's voice came out.

"…yes." The tortoise feared what would happen if it said no.

"Good remember this face." The woman said removing her hood only for the tortoise to see. "The debt is sealed in Karma I will return to collect this debt in the future but until then you are free." The woman bound the debt it in a way it would not be able to escape from repaying.
