Morris's POV
Anxiety coiled inside my chest like a snake. The paternity test results hadn't arrived yet, but deep down, I already knew Murphy's child wasn't mine. I just needed those results to officially end this charade.
The intercom buzzed, interrupting my thoughts. Michelle's voice came through, informing me someone was waiting at reception. Kyra. My stomach dropped. What was she doing here? After a moment's hesitation, I instructed Michelle to direct her to the meeting room downstairs.
When Michelle notified me Kyra had arrived, I quickly finished an email to a client before heading down. As I reached reception, Kyra launched herself at me, wrapping her arms around my neck and pressing her lips against mine before I could react.
"Well, now this tramp is making appearances at the office?" Darren's voice cut through the awkward moment as he emerged from his office.
Kyra pulled away from me, smirking. "Good afternoon to you too, jackass."
