Monica's POV
I drifted in and out of consciousness during the ride home with Jason, Dorothy's herbal tea working its magic on my frazzled nerves. When I finally opened my eyes the next morning, Lily's familiar face greeted me, her expression a mixture of concern and affection.
"Well, look who decided to rejoin the land of the living," she teased, her voice gentle.
"Hey, Vi," I mumbled, rubbing sleep from my eyes. "How long have you been sitting there?"
"Long enough to know you drool in your sleep." She winked. "How are you feeling today?"
I groaned, memories of yesterday flooding back. "Like my heart's been put through a meat grinder. Morris is marrying one woman while keeping another on the side. And that woman—I think she might be the one from his past he's been searching for."
