Monica's POV
"Monica, do you have any idea why Grady wants to see you?" Natalie asked as I stepped into her office at the end of a particularly hectic workday.
"Not a clue," I replied, dropping into the chair across from her desk. "He called and just said to swing by before I left. Should I be worried?"
"Doubt it. Grady's not exactly the bearer of bad news type," Natalie reassured me before rising from her chair. "Let me tell him you're here."
She disappeared into Grady's office, returning moments later with a wave of her hand indicating I should go in. Taking a deep breath, I crossed the threshold into the spacious corner office where Grady sat beaming at me.
"Monica!" His smile was warm and genuine as he gestured for me to take a seat. "First, I want to express how thrilled I am that you and Morris have finally patched things up."
"Thank you, Grady," I said, settling into the plush chair. "Though I sincerely hope your friend doesn't decide to break my heart again."
