Chapter 29 - Chapter 29

[Short chapter]

I finally after a year in that library made it out of the small book shop that I found it in. The air still had that still undead feel to it. The sun was just as lacking in warmth as I remember, and the undead still roamed the area. Everything was just how I left it,nothing changed but me. I changed. I learned.

I learned how to finally..FINALLY kill these motherfuckers. Oh for so long I have tried to fight back, but to no success. Now, I was going to kill these things. I felt like I was playing a hardcore nightmare difficulty game, only to realize that the path I was on was for veterans. The tutorial stage had been completed, and the mob monsters that had caused me such grief was about to get it.

Never in my days had a nigga been more happy to see an undead. It was an undead woman, who`s clothes were torn and had her…well…her undead tits out. I pulled out my staff, closed my eyes and focused.

I could feel the souls of those around me, they were chained, scared, and in pain. I felt their pain and suffering for a small amount of time. They wanted to be saved, and I was going to bring it.

My focused lean towards the undead woman in front of me, and with the undead language I spoke.

'guide.leave.rest' I had a lot of undead to work through and didn't want to have a full conversation with every single one of them.

Her spirit looked at me confused, but after a few moments I was able to guide her to the afterlife. She was happy to finally leave, and I was happy to have helped her move on.

The 'day' went on just like that. With me helping the undead souls, and their bodies falling to the ground like puppets without a string. Some of the undead I had to use some lavender and other materials to help calm the spirits and get them to leave for the afterlife. They were the soldiers, parents and others who couldn't move on for one reason or another. Even, though they had been dead for who knows how long. Surprisingly the small undead, which had killed me the most, were the easiest to help move on. They were waiting to go, and only needed me to take half a step in the process before they left. The giant creatures followed right after them in the easy department.

My two biggest enemies were the most obedient patients. The 'day' was almost over, and I wanted to get back to the library as soon as possible. I didn't want to be out here at night, I could handle myself, but I didn't want to risk anything. I couldn't risk doing something stupid now. Now, that I was so close to the end of this Poppy bullshit.

I walked through the alleyways when I heard something. An older man voice.

"Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Are you getting this Dr. Kaori. Marvelous."

"I can't believe this Dr. Emory, the readings are off the charts. Look at this..this whole space is breathable air. The biological sphere that could have developed down is is….amazing. Dr. This could be it. The discovery of the century. AND! Look buildings, maybe we found our lost ancient ancestors. THIS COULD BE THE KEY!"

"Whoa, now hold it you two. I don't want anyone dying on my watch in this team."

I saw the one who spoke. It was a group of people in a exploration team. Humans? How? Why? This didn't make any sense. I was the only person, that was and should be alive here, and they…

They look like they were from my current time period. They had headlamps on, backpacks, and uniforms that looked like coveralls. I was flabbergasted, and kept looking to see if they were aliens are something. This wasn't right. How?

Did I need to check to make sure that no one was dumb enough to get in here. Wait..fuck did I have to be a gate keeper for the demons here now.

UGGhhh..this didn't make any sense, and it was getting late. I need to get these people out of here and quick

"Darryl get some photos and our radio up. The doc are goin-"

I walked up to the group, and they all paused and looked at me.

"You need to leave this place."

"What in the hell??.. Son where are your parents. How did you get here, and do you know what-"

"LEAVE! You shouldn't even be here. How did YOU get here?"

"Amazing, look at his clothing. He could be a nativ-"

"I won't ask again. LEAVE! Or I will use force to make you leave. I don't want to hurt an old man, and your group but will if I most"

"Dr. Emory what do we do"

"Calm down everyone, calm down. This is a very important discovery for us. I don't know how to explain it to you, as I am not sure about your situation son. BUT, this place…this place could hold answers to questions that we scientist have been searching for. I am sorry, but we simply can't leave without those questions being answered"

"Sigh..then force it is. Don't look at me like that, trust me you wouldn't want to be here if you knew anything about this place."

It didn't take me long to 'defeat' them. I simply control the air around them and knocked them out.

Which was a stupid idea..now that I think about it. There was an older man, an older woman, two guys that actually looked like cave explores, and a college student that was obviously the assistant.

5 adults..that I had to somehow find out where they came from, and drag them out of here. Assuming that I can even leave. Genius Max…simply genius.

Leaving the knockout adults, I went to find out where they came from and found my answer. A type of cave formation, had been created at one of the gates. It looked like a cave entrance, but had bricks and a tunnel like formation to it.

How did I not see that…and is it getting smaller? I looked closer, and realized that the cave formation was sinking, and that the lower the sun got the lower it got.

Not thinking further I ran back to the people, and started to drag them one by one to the cave formation. I barely made it, as in I don't know if that college dude will have feet kind of made it.

I found out that I couldn't leave this place, a shield or something blocked me. I could see out of the cave and move things or at least people out there. I had to drag them, and then push their feet as far as I could push them. Hopefully everything worked out.

The night had come, and the bell rung. I knew that I needed to get back to the library as soon as possible. Hopefully this was a one time thing…I really didn't want to be a gatekeeper. Maybe, Mr.Eyeball will know.

THIRD POV.

"Doc…doctor are you okay?" Jason had been trying to wake up Dr.Emory for the past few minutes. He had woken up along with their teams safety office, Travis. Both had woken up after the leading captain Quinn had gotten them on their feet. Quinn was on his way to wake up their communication support coordinator Darryly

"..what..where..What happened? Where are we…and what happened to that cave formation."

"I don't know doctor. I didn't see anything when I woke up."

The Doctor looked at the surrounding area, he noted the rock formations, and everything else around him. He realized immediately that this was the spot where they had found the pathways leading to that place. To his surprise it was gone, nothing but a wall in front of him.

He couldn't believe his eyes, and ran his hands across the surface of the wall. Even, still he couldn't believe it. Had it all been a dream?

"Please…please tell me you have proof of what we found. Something that shows we…I am not going crazy."

"Yup" Quinn answered, he walked up to them with the other team members. He continued

"Darryl was able to take some pictures."

"I was able to get some samples of the plant life there and was able to get some readings of the place. You aren't crazy Emory…none of us are. We just entered a new space. Or something else."

"What about the kid. Shouldn't we do something about that"

"Sigh..as captain my job is to make sure you all can get home. That includes the kid we saw in there. I will report this to the rangers, and they will get a search going. In the meantime, we need to get out of here."

"Reluctantly I agree. It is getting late, and…there is a lot of notes to take of this event. My old body isn't as good as it use to be in places like this. To think my 'last' exploration would be this thrilling."
