Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : The Arrival

It was winter break and the roads were covered in white snow. I was on my way to Grandpa's house to spend the holidays with my cousins. I had been waiting for this day for so long. Sitting in the car, I looked out the window as we passed by houses decorated with Christmas lights.

As we reached the gate of Grandpa's house, I could feel the excitement growing. I got out of the car and knocked. The door opened and there stood my cousin, Amaan.

"Hey, you finally arrived!" he said with a big smile.

"Yeah, the traffic was crazy," I replied, stepping inside.

I hugged Grandpa and my other cousins. The house smelled of cookies and hot chocolate. We all sat in the living room and talked about school, games, and our plans for the holidays.

Later that night, while everyone was asleep, I heard a strange noise coming from the attic. I tried to ignore it, thinking it was just the wind. But then I heard it again — a faint whisper, almost like someone calling my name.

Curious, I got up, grabbed a flashlight, and slowly made my way to the attic. The stairs creaked under my feet as I climbed. When I reached the top, I saw an old wooden trunk in the corner. It looked like it hadn't been opened in years.

I opened the trunk and found some dusty books, photographs, and an old journal. The cover said, "The Journal of Secrets."

Without thinking, I opened it — and that's when everything changed.
