When Ren saw the King hurting Elara, he became very angry. The fun was over. The air around him felt cold and dangerous.
"Using a prisoner as a battery?" Ren's voice was very quiet. "That is not fair play."
The Silent King was still taking Elara's life energy. He was getting ready to cast a very big, powerful spell. "Your silly rules do not matter to a god—"
He did not finish his sentence.
Ren disappeared. He moved so fast that he looked like he had turned invisible. One moment, he was at the bottom of the steps. The next moment, he was right in front of the King.
The King was shocked by this impossible speed. He had to stop his big spell to defend himself. He swung his bone staff at Ren.
CLANG!
Ren's sword hit the staff. A big explosion of green and purple magic lit up the room. The King was strong, but Ren was faster and more aggressive. Ren knew he had to stop the King from taking Elara's energy. He had to break the connection.
He faked an attack at the King's head. The King lifted his staff to block. But Ren changed his attack. He swung his sword down with all his strength onto the staff.
The Sting of the Queen hit the ancient staff. The magic of the sword was stronger. The staff cracked and then broke into pieces.
The green light connecting the King to Elara disappeared. The King roared in anger. He had lost his battery.
"My turn," Ren said, his voice cold.
He decided to end the fight. A strange power flowed from him. It was a small piece of his [PRIMORDIAL] bloodline. The King felt this power and for the first time, he felt fear.
The King was now weak and desperate. He lunged at Ren. But he was too slow. Ren attacked with a storm of sword strikes. The Royal Venom from his sword ate away at the King's magic bones.
The King could not believe what was happening. "What... are... you...?" was his last thought.
Ren pushed his sword straight through the King's chest. A green gem inside the King's bones—his life source—shattered. With one last scream, the Silent King turned into a pile of fine, grey dust.
All the other skeletons in the room also fell and became dust. The battle was over. The room was quiet and peaceful.
Ren's System was full of messages.

Ren did not look at his loot yet. He walked to Elara. The magic chains on her turned to dust and fell away. She was very weak and started to fall.
Ren moved quickly and caught her. She was light in his arms. She looked up at him with her beautiful green eyes. She was full of thanks.
The cold, angry look on Ren's face was gone. He gave her a soft, kind smile.
"Hey there," he said gently. "The king has left the building. You must be Elara."
