[Earth—New York city]

February 13th, 2030

Behind the thick clouds, New York City was drenched in the incessant downpour. The fog enveloped every corner of the city, blurring everyone's eyes.

A few cars passed over the road, and the traffic lights flickering in harmony—red, green, red, and so on. The aroma from the rain was too boring to be smelled, and the enjoyment was no more.

Some manholes emitted warm steam among the cold air that chilled one's body. The stores were left open, ignoring the endless-like rainfall.

Each of the store's windows was blurred with the raindrops, and the water that flowed so flexibly from the top of the store onto below.

A man was sitting on his white-colored chair from the grayish-colored apartment. Behind the window of the apartment, he took a sip from his mug gently—a hot chocolate that fitted perfectly with the weather.

On the street, a couple walked with their black-coated umbrellas in a warm relationship. A car suddenly passed by. The couple were startled when the car splashed their hoodies. Both of them mocked the car's driver, who was slowly getting far.

Everyone on the globe called the strange phenomenon the Earth's Depression. The western continent was cursed by an eternal-like downpour, and the dense ashen-colored clouds hovered over the cities and wildlife.

In the eastern continent, many nations were illuminated by searing light from the heavens above. In oceans such as the Pacific Ocean, the sea water was heated in immense heat, making dense clouds that repeated the cycle.

Nevertheless, the future generations were continuing their activities and were ignoring the concerns of many meteorologists.

Along Broadway, in the Upper West Side of New York City, United States of America. From behind the window of a grayish-colored apartment, located near Broadway and between West 88th Street and West 89th Street. Laid down a teenager, lulled in his dreams and his soft bed.

His room was not that kind of fancy, a plain room painted with white color over the walls and the ceiling. There was a window in the shape of a rectangle, and on the left side from the window there was a bed—white in color, comfortable, and the mattress texture was soft and fluffy.

On the right side of the window, there was a white nightstand with a table lamp above it. The window itself was decorated with black curtains, which were left open and let the faint light of the sun to get in.

On the far right side of the room, there was a gray wardrobe with a mirror on the right side of it. At the center of the ceiling there was a three-blade ceiling fan, painted with a brownish color, as if the color of wood.

The sound of the rain can be heard from the outside of the open window, a natural satisfying sound that was continuously played.

Exactly on the top of the white nightstand, laid a phone that was quite advanced. Its cover was colored black, and branded Gargantuan Corporation. The cheap one from the company.

Unexpectedly, there was an incoming short message from his phone, with a loud sound of bell, of course.

Ding!

The message read, "Whatcha doing?"

The young man's phone suddenly rang so loud and echoed in his room.

The caller's name was… Alder, with a few emojis followed.

A few seconds later, the lulled-young man's eyes were slowly open. With tired eyes, he fixed his gaze on the source of the sound, slowly and gently.

The annoying noise was resounding in both of his ears. With stiff hands, he tried to crawl to his phone with a pale face. Afterward, he was able to grasp his phone and tried to answer the call.

With a sleepy feeling and half-open eyes, he uttered, "H–hello?...."

An enthusiastic and feminine voice replying from the call, "Adrian?... what are you doing now?"

With a gentle voice, Adrian answered the question.

"Uh… just doin' nothing, sleeping all day. There is nothing special, I guess."

"And… how about yourself?"

Alder thought for a second, before replying with his eager voice.

"Well for me... I don't know either. It's so boring, I feel like being locked in, hehe…"

Alder was chuckled, he then threw out his idea with a zealous voice.

"Hm?... How about we go outside? I think it would be fun!"

With a jaded voice, Adrian answered his offer while moving his legs on the soft mattress.

"I was kinda lazy this day, y'know, it's raining."

In a pitiful tone, Alder begged Adrian with all his heart. He even made a groaned voice just for Adrian to go outside with him. Such a strange thing.

"Please…I beg you…"

Adrian turned both his eyes to the left side with an annoyed face, he agreed with the offer although was looked forced.

"Huh, fine…"

"But before that, I will prepare myself, Alder."

"Well then, I will prepare myself too! Bye!"

Alder closed his phone, with Alder left the call, Adrian then got up from his bed. The only thing he could hear was the rain, and also the silence in his mind.

Adrian who tried to collect his full consciousness then gazed at the window, with a bored face, he let out a heavy breath before he stood and prepared himself.

After taking a bath, he wore an ashen-colored hoodie that matched the clouds. He also brought with him a black umbrella, a loyal defender for him.

After all was ready, Adrian then walked toward the door of his room. He then turned the door's handle gently, he saw a corridor with a few doors and the walls were colored white. He immediately walked through the corridor to find an elevator, successfully, the elevator door was open and so he walked in while carrying his umbrella.

With a loud sound, the door of the elevator slowly opened.

Ding!

After the elevator led him to the bottom floor, Adrian then walked toward the exit door of his apartment. With gentle touch, he opened the door while umbrella was at hand. The aroma of the rain stung his nose, he had left the warm haven.

He carefully looked at the sky, the ashen sky. The silence truly could be felt, until someone suddenly tapped his shoulder…

"Hey, Adrian!"

With the sudden mysterious voice, Adrian jumped to the right side with fear. He was jumpscared, even his heartbeat was so fast.

"F##k!"

With a terrified face, Adrian fixed his gaze at the person who said that. He was even more surprised that it was Alder who jumpscared him.

"W-when did you arrive!? I-it's so sudden!" said Adrian while stammering.

"Chill, dude." Alder assured. "You were like just seeing a ghost, don't ya?"

Followed by Alder's soft laugh, Adrian only looked at him while he was trying to calm down himself.

"Well then, let's begin our adventure!" Alder shouted excitedly, while he was pointing his opened-umbrella at the sky.

Both of them then began their adventure, with their opened-umbrella, they journeyed the street while the clouds were continuously raining.

Alder was a young man, his age was estimated around eighteen-nineteen. His hair was colored blonde as if the color of gold, perhaps he was colored his own hair. He was a short man, he had a feminine nature, and was soft—paired with blueish eyes. He liked to joke with his friends, and he also cared for his friends.

Then Adrian, a young man whose age was nineteen. His hair was colored black just like an ordinary human, while his eyes were painted blackish. He had a friendly nature, and was a kind-hearted person. With his ordinary life, he lived inside his apartment, the one whose outer walls were clammy.

While both of them walked on the street, their boots stepped on the puddle that welcomed them coldly. The sounds of the passing cars echoed in their ears, followed by the spark of water they had made across the street.

When will this rain end? It looks like it has happened for weeks.

Adrian looked at the sky in worry, behind his umbrella that was protecting him from the downpour.

"It's raining heavily…" Alder muttered while looking at the gray sky. "And cold…."

From a distance, both of them saw a flash of light which followed by a ramble that resounded through the street. Adrian and Alder were shocked at the flash and the loud sound.

"Wow, that's kinda dangerous…" spoke Adrian before turning his head at Alder. "And we looked like we took it normally."

"Maybe our brains were used to it?" Alder answered before being followed with a soft laugh. "And I agree with ya, it's dangerous…."

While both of them were walking, they heard the sound of a growling stomach.

"I think my stomach is growling, hehe…" Alder uttered at Adrian. "Um… Adrian? How 'bout we eat some food?"

Faced with a question, Adrian too was hungry at that moment.

"Great idea! But there's no restaurant around here…."

"Oh…" Alder looked disappointed, before adding. "How about a dessert?"

"Well I can't reject that! Hey look, there's a dessert shop!" Adrian pointed at the yellowed-walls shop, with a few people from the windows.

The shop was named Twins Stars, a popular dessert shop that was located between West 84th Street and West 85th Street.

Alder then quickly ran toward the zebra cross, before crossing it, he looked back at Adrian with a smile.

"Adrian! Come on!"

Adrian then tried to follow after, each his steps made a spark of water with his shaking umbrella. After successfully following Alder, Adrian with a heavy breath then said, "Don't run, dude…."

Alder who ignored Adrian then continued to run and cross the zebra cross, without knowing a black supercar drove toward him.

Adrian who saw that then immediately ran toward Alder while shouting at him.

"Alder! Watch out!"

Before the car hit Alder with an immense speed, Adrian pushed him with a full force.

Crash!!!

Adrian, who pushed Alder toward the street, became the victim of a teenager's negligence. His body was thrown by the immense force, before landing hard on the ground.

"A-Adrian?..." Tears began to flow from his eyes, with ultimate regret, Alder immediately ran toward the lifeless body that was covered in blood.

Alder immediately hugged Adrian's corpse while asking for forgiveness.

"I-I'm sorry, Adrian… I-I'm sorry…"

A few people were locked by their phones, while filming the tragedy. The others tried to call an ambulance, ultimately…

This is the example of abominations owned by Humans.
