Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: Remilia + Flandre = Purple-tier Strength?

"Uwah… was Flandre always this crazy back in the original Gensokyo?"

Standing atop a building and watching the scene unfold before him, Ren's expression twisted with a hint of amusement and strangeness.

---

A few hours earlier in the DxD world, Ren had just about finished all preparations before leaving. Only now did he begin to shift his attention toward the system functions.

The limited-time nurture function, and the world travel function...

Seeing these two new features, Ren was genuinely curious.

For a system that had previously only contained a roulette, he had guessed there might be additional features eventually.

Then again, even if this was it, it wouldn't be too surprising. In web novels, there were systems with only sign-in features, so one limited to a roulette wasn't impossible.

But now, seeing these new functions brought genuine excitement.

[Limited-Time Nurture Function: The system will randomly initiate a limited-time pet contract. During the contract period, the host must complete a series of nurturing tasks. Once completed, the limited-time contract will convert into a permanent pet contract, and the host will receive a corresponding reward.]

[Note: Limited-time contracts will not trigger the tenfold feedback passive.]

Ren's eyes gleamed with interest after reading the description.

So, only after the limited-time contract becomes permanent does the tenfold feedback activate.

And when it does, the system also provides a nurturing reward.

"What if the tasks aren't completed in time? System…"

[If the host fails to complete the nurture tasks before the contract expires, the contract is voided. The pet retains its developed strength and returns to its original world. The host receives no reward.]

"I see. So no matter what, the ones who benefit are the pets."

Ren nodded slightly, finally understanding.

Regardless of whether he succeeded, the pet would gain a significant power-up. It was essentially a free strength boost for the pet.

From the system's perspective, the entire nurture function was originally meant to improve pets as the host progressed. But this limited-time version clearly leaned more toward benefiting the pet alone.

Opening the world traversal function, Ren was puzzled to see that only the DxD world was listed.

"So the function only allows travel to already-visited worlds, huh?"

Upon realizing that, he quickly understood how the travel function worked.

It was basically a return feature to previously visited worlds. As he hadn't been anywhere else yet, only DxD showed up.

So how would he get to other worlds?

He silently activated the limited-time nurture feature. A screen appeared before him, like a gacha draw in a game, with a single button:

[Starting Limited-Time Nurture Task…]

Below the button, a line of text drew his attention:

[Upon initiating this function, the system will randomly summon a contract pet, generate nurture tasks, and match a world accordingly. Once the process is complete, the system will automatically activate world travel for the selected party.]

So in short, the world travel was just a function to allow return trips. The system never said he couldn't leave the nurture world, which eased his worries.

Who knew how long the "limited" period might last? Without knowing the time flow differences between worlds, Ren didn't want to take any chances.

Silently, Ren pressed the button—

[Drawing pet… Drawing complete.]

[Limited-Time Nurture Pet: Purple-tier Pet – Remilia & Flandre]

[Nurture World: Strike the Blood World]

[Please check the tasks after arriving in the target world.]

[Selected traversal party: Kurosawa Ren, Lucemon, Ophis…]

Upon arriving in this new world, Ren had just been about to greet his pets—when he was suddenly attacked by Flandre.

Neither Ren nor Lucemon were the type to be harmed by something like this.

So, after confirming Flandre had gone berserk, Ren didn't intervene at all. He casually dodged the attacks and watched from the sidelines. He even stopped Lucemon and Ophis from jumping in.

"Why aren't you helping? Master, are you really just going to watch your pet go insane?" Lucemon couldn't understand.

"I just want to see what those two are capable of."

Ren said flatly. After all, Gensokyo was different from other worlds. Even before transmigrating, he had a soft spot for the uniquely fan-created setting. But even with that affection, he couldn't accurately gauge their power levels. Letting Remilia and Flandre go all out here was the smarter option.

It would let him compare them to the enemies in Strike the Blood's world.

"Remilia couldn't break Laeding(Divine chains), but Flandre destroyed it with ease. Still, she's in a berserk state, so it's not a good standard."

Ren whispered to himself while watching the show.

As expected, the upper and lower limits of purple-class power varied wildly.

Remilia was certainly strong, but honestly, she didn't seem more powerful than Kuroka, the first time he met her. Of course, maybe she was holding back against her sister—that was entirely possible. Remilia obviously had more combat experience than her immature sibling.

"Don't tell me… they only reached purple-class when combined."

Ren couldn't help but mock the situation.

"Uwah, that vampire's about to cause massive destruction. You're still not stepping in, Master?"

Right now, Flandre was laughing maniacally, the magic circle behind her illuminating the night sky.

Countless magical projectiles were bursting out in every direction across Itogami Island.

The individual blasts weren't especially powerful, but...

For widespread destruction—they were more than enough.

Seeing this, Ren clicked his tongue.

If Gensokyo's usual "nuke-everything" tactics got transplanted here, Natsuki would definitely cough up blood.
