Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Logia—Glint-Glint Fruit, Who Needs Brutal Honesty?

Ordinary Group Admin: "You—you guys—hmph! I'm not talking to you anymore."

Ordinary Group Admin: "@The Undefeated East, Sis East, what did you get from your draw?"

The Undefeated East: "Image.jpg"

[Item: Logia Devil Fruit—Glint-Glint Fruit]

From the One Piece world, this Devil Fruit lets the eater transform their body into light and become immune to physical attacks.

The eater is vulnerable to seawater and Seastone from the One Piece world; seawater from other worlds is only half as effective.

The Undefeated East: "Looks like we've got another lucky one in the chat."

She'd spent the past few days going through all kinds of "memory copy" simulations from other worlds. Of all of them, she'd watched One Piece the most—followed by Pokémon.

Even though some of the other universes had more "complete" stories, she just loved those unfinished "memory copies" best. Unfinished stories meant endless possibilities.

She was already familiar with the Glint-Glint Fruit—Kizaru's power, one of the Marine Admirals in One Piece. Maybe it wasn't the absolute strongest Devil Fruit, but in terms of speed, nothing could touch it.

Her own Sunflower Manual was renowned for speed, but compared to the power of light itself? Not even close!

If she could fully develop the Glint-Glint Fruit's potential, her strength would skyrocket, and she'd never again be the weakest in the chat group.

Ordinary Group Admin: "The Glint-Glint Fruit?!"

Come Be My Son: "Kurarara! That's Kizaru's power, right? You're pretty lucky."

Uchiha Dance King: "With speed comparable to light itself—even if it wasn't fully shown in the memories, that's what it's capable of."

Uchiha Dance King: "Not bad at all."

Even Madara had to admit he was jealous. He'd watched plenty of the One Piece memory files and respected the strength of the major figures in that world. The Three Admirals might not be able to match his future Six Paths level, but at their peak, they were no slouches compared to him and Hashirama.

Evil Sprite: "That's some enviable luck."

Kurumi shook her head, a bit envious herself. The group's lottery feature really was an irresistible shortcut to power. Whether it was Brandon's Uchiha Obito template or now East's Glint-Glint Fruit, either would change the game for her. If only she could draw something like that, maybe she'd finally be able to beat her.

Soup-for-Daigu: "The gap between people is even bigger than the gap between people and dogs!"

Soup-for-Daigu: "I am so jealous of that luck!"

How come he couldn't get a Devil Fruit—any Devil Fruit? He'd take a Zoan, a Paramecia, even a basic Sharingan…

Anything, really. But so far, nothing but junk.

Golden Flash: "There are drawbacks, sure, but compared to the power it offers, the seawater weakness is manageable."

Ordinary Group Admin: "I'm totally numb now, guys."

Ordinary Group Admin: "The Glint-Glint Fruit is literally my favorite!"

Ordinary Group Admin: "Kizaru is my favorite character in One Piece—chill at work, always leaves on time, total life goals!"

Ordinary Group Admin: "And the Glint-Glint Fruit is so strong!"

Light itself! Not just for speed—its destructive power was insane too.

Brandon was honestly surprised East managed to pull the Glint-Glint Fruit. To him, it wasn't weaker than any other Devil Fruit, not even the mythical Zoans.

Ultimate speed, ultimate power.

Some people compared the Rumble-Rumble Fruit (Enel's lightning) to the Glint-Glint Fruit, but Brandon knew: light would always be faster than lightning. Maybe the difference was blurred in One Piece, but in reality? No contest.

If East could really reach light-speed with her new power, even the weakest attacks would become terrifying.

And that reminded Brandon—light was part of nature, too. If he controlled nature, then surely he should be able to command light.

What's that? You say sunlight comes from the sun, not the earth?

Doesn't matter. Once sunlight hits the earth, it's fair game!

And if light is part of nature, then so is darkness…

With that in mind, Brandon started experimenting with light and darkness manipulation. As expected, he succeeded—just as he'd guessed, his [Authority of Nature] was absurdly overpowered.

It was just a small epiphany in his daily routine, a reminder that [Authority of Nature] probably held countless surprises he hadn't even tapped into yet.

But he didn't feel rushed. The powers he had now were already more than enough.

The days passed quickly, until one morning he realized his storage ring was finally out of mutant beast meat.

It was… a little depressing.

He'd gotten so used to gourmet dishes made from mutant beast meat that nothing else tasted right anymore.

Should he head back to the nature reserve?

"You've got some nerve! People might say you're out there researching, but anyone else would think you're just wiping out species," Firewing scolded him over the phone. "Now, the moment those mutant beasts see a human, they run for their lives. Do you have any idea how traumatized you've made them?"

"Their reproduction rate is super fast. With all this spiritual energy, the young adapt quickly. Besides, I only target mutated creatures—normal animals are still alive and well. Aren't they the ones we're supposed to be protecting in a nature reserve?" Brandon replied, genuinely puzzled.

"Yeah, well, we need to eat too! There's no mature supply chain for mutant beast meat yet, and there's not enough stock. Sure, Vantora City has lots of mountains, but they're far apart. Maybe you could try a different hunting ground?"

Firewing's voice got softer and softer, but he couldn't help himself. That meat really was amazing—and the effect on cultivation was too good to ignore. There was no way the government would let such a strategic resource slip by.

"So as long as I don't hunt in the reserve, it's fine?" Brandon sighed.

"Honestly, you can still hunt there, just try to focus on the big, dangerous ones—those with higher potential or that could pose a threat to humans if they grow stronger."

"That's because their abilities and defense make them hard to hunt, right? Takes a lot of manpower, and the payoff isn't always great."

"Well, yeah, but also their meat is tough and not always tasty. Sometimes it takes hours to make it edible."

A long silence. Brandon took a deep breath and hung up.

Next time, could you not say all your brutally honest thoughts out loud?
