Kazuma's Point of View – On the Bus
Actually, before we even got on the bus, I had scarfed down a chocolate-flavored energy bar that Aizawa-sensei gave me. I checked to see what reward I got from the system, and all it said was:
You received – Error: Reward will be granted later.
You received – Error: Reward will be granted later.
You received – Error: Reward will be granted later.
It was weird. Why was the system acting up like that?
...Oh well.
I tried to relax a little. I needed time to think things through.
I sat next to Momo during the whole ride. Our classmates were talking nonstop. I chatted casually with Momo, just small talk, until the topic of quirks came up.
"Yeah, if we're talking about the most badass quirks in the class, it's gotta be those four," Kirishima said, pointing at Midoriya, Bakugou, Todoroki, and me.
"Tch," Bakugou clicked his tongue at the mention of his name.
"Yeah, but Bakugou wouldn't be so popular if he wasn't mad all the time," Tsuyu added, poking her lip with a finger.
"What'd you say, frog-face?!" Bakugou barked.
"See what I mean?" Tsuyu deadpanned, pointing at his angry face.
"He's got a crappy attitude. That's not exactly likable," Kaminari chimed in with a grin.
"I am likable, damn it!" Bakugou snapped.
"I'm with you, man," I joined in, smirking. "I mean, you're like the loud-mouth, butt-flexing hedgehog hero who's always ready to shout at someone when they're feeling lonely. It's pretty charming in a weird way, y'know? 'Boom-Hedgehog-kun', ready to scream for emotional support."
"You little butterfly bastard!" Bakugou shouted. Everyone burst out laughing.
"Speaking of quirks," Tsuyu said, turning to Midoriya, "Your quirk really reminds me of All Might's."
Midoriya froze. He didn't expect anyone to notice. He looked panicked and tried to deflect.
Then Kaminari said, "Nah, not really. I mean, All Might doesn't break his bones every time he throws a punch."
Tsuyu turned to me next. "But Kazuma-kun... why are you so good at fighting? You move like you've done it before. A lot."
That question caught me off guard. How should I even answer that?
Should I say I'm a war veteran who barely made it out alive? Or that I got isekai'd and forced to fight monsters?
...Honestly, both. But I didn't want to say any of that.
"I was kind of a delinquent back in middle school," I said. "Always got into fights. So I've got experience with that kind of thing. I mean, I told you a bit before, didn't I?"
It was true. My past wasn't exactly sunshine and rainbows. Maybe even worse than most. Society, friends, even my own parents—all of it shaped me into who I am.
I wasn't trying to brag. If anything, my life was a trainwreck.
Everyone nodded. They'd seen the way I fought during the tests. My intensity. My recklessness. They believed me.
"I've always been a bastard. Most people probably wouldn't want to get involved with someone like me," I added, face expressionless.
I expected them to stay quiet. But then—
"Is that so? I think you're a good guy," Mina said with a big smile.
"Yeah! You even helped me when I almost got expelled!" Toru added, raising her hand.
"You're really kind," Koji said shyly.
"Totally, boss! You're a good dude for sure!" Mineta chimed in with a thumbs-up.
I shook my head and chuckled softly.
These kids... they're something else.
"Thanks," I said with a wide grin.
Some of the girls who already had a thing for me blushed. Momo, sitting right next to me, turned red like a tomato and—maybe I was imagining it—but she was picturing me in a tuxedo. Probably.
I had no clue what she was thinking, but...
'My little princess is totally imagining something wild again. Definitely.'
"Hey! Spiky boom-head, wanna play a game?" I called out.
Everyone was surprised I was actually talking to Bakugou.
"Hah?! What's wrong with you?!" Bakugou snapped.
"C'mon, it's simple! Loser pays 1,000 yen. All you gotta do is stay quiet for 10 seconds, no matter what I say. Easy, right?"
Everyone was hyped to see this challenge go down.
"Tch, bring it. Like I'd lose," Bakugou smirked. Free money, right? Just stay quiet.
"Alright, let's start," I grinned.
"Hey, Bakugou. Heard Midoriya's stronger than you."
"Hah?! That damn Deku stronger than—" He froze mid-sentence.
He lost. Instantly.
Midoriya looked shocked. His childhood friend, who always insulted him, just got baited hard.
Everyone burst into laughter as Bakugou fumed.
Before anything else could go down, Aizawa's voice cut through:
"Alright, troublemakers. Quiet down and get off the bus. We've arrived."
None of us expected having a chaos gremlin in the class would be this fun.
We stepped off the bus and saw it: USJ.
It was huge—just like the pamphlet said. And there to greet us was our special guest teacher:
Space Hero: Thirteen.
Thirteen: "Welcome, little heroes! I'm Thirteen, and I'll be guiding you through today's lesson."
Uraraka: "OMG, it's really Thirteen! You're my favorite hero!"
Midoriya: "The best rescue specialist there is!"
I laughed a little, still holding Momo's hand.
Time to mess with her.
Kazuma: "Hey, Mo-chan. You know something?"
Momo: "Hm? What is it, Ryo? Don't you dare say anything weird."
Kazuma: "I would never say anything weird, Mo-chan~ My cute little lady."
Momo: "Then what is it?"
Kazuma: "You've gained wei—"
WHACK.
She smacked me on the head and pulled my cheeks.
"OW! Hey!!"
...Okay, I might be a little bit of an M.
After a bit, she let me go and puffed her cheeks at me.
'Damn... don't make me fall for you even harder, woman!!'
I grinned. Today seemed like it'd be peaceful.
...Then the system window popped up.
And my smile vanished.
[Main Quest: Protect Everyone from the Invading Villains][Objective: Everyone must survive][Side Quest: If no one is injured, receive a special bonus reward]
Clear Success:
Score +15 | Coins +30,000⚠ Warning: Over 100 villains with double power
Special Condition:If even one person is injured — the player will immediately die
Ryojin: "F***ing hell."
Ryojin: 'Just barely survived noon, and now I'm supposed to die by evening, damn this damn system.'
Ryojin: 'Does this crappy system want me to be reincarnated for a third time or what!?'
No time to hesitate—he acted immediately.
"Hmm? Ryo, what are you doing?" Momo asked, confused, as all eyes turned to him.
But he didn't answer, didn't care. His hand grabbed a vial from his gear bag, chugging the "elixirs" like a maniac—
Stamina recovery, speed boost, strength, endurance—He downed them all until he almost puked.
4,500 yen per bottle.Four bottles—18,000 yen.Each boost added +12 stats.
Expensive? Screw it…If he didn't do this, he wouldn't even have a chance to "run away."
He gulped them down like an addict, making everyone in the hallway stare.Aizawa frowned, suspiciously asking, "What are you doing?"
He looked up and spoke with utmost seriousness:Ryojin: "Sensei… we have to get out of here. Now!!!"
Aizawa: "Huh? What nonsense are you talking—"
Bzzzt!Suddenly, the entire place went dark.
Ryojin: "…Too late."
Thick black fog surged up from the floor. Not ordinary mist, but filled with an oppressive force that was "not human."
Something emerged from the fog.And behind it, a crowd of people followed closely.
"Sensei… what is that?" Momo's voice trembled softly.
Kirishima's eyes went wide. "What the hell?! You guys have fake villains too?!"
"Don't move!! Group up!!" Aizawa shouted sharply.
Kaminari asked with a shaky voice, "Is this… part of the training?"
"No…" Aizawa adjusted his goggles and pulled up his scarf.
Ryojin: That's… the real villains.
Then a man slowly stepped out of the fog.Every step he took released terrifying pressure straight at the students.Just locking eyes with him made their legs feel like they'd freeze.
He was handsome… but in a disturbing way.Light brown hair, cold gray eyes.Tall and slender, radiating the aura of an "executioner."On the left side of his face—a large scar running from cheekbone down to his neck.
Ryojin stayed silent…
But in his mind — the plan began. Not just to survive himself, but to make sure "everyone survives with not a single injury."
Because if anyone gets hurt…he will "die" immediately
Everyone froze in place, hearts pounding under the overwhelming pressure like a storm crashing down.Until Aizawa's voice pierced through the silence.
Aizawa: "Number 13! Protect the students!"
The first thought in Aizawa's mind was: buy time.As long as the students weren't safe, he was willing to sacrifice even his own life. That was the true heart of a hero.
Aizawa's body moved, ready to jump into the fray and face the enemy. But then...
Bang!A gunshot rang out at close range—bullets embedding into the ground mere feet before him.
He froze, turned sharply with a furious expression.
Aizawa: "Kazuma!! What the hell are you thinking!?"
The young man stepped slowly out of the shadows, his face unreadable. He spoke in a cold, calm voice, every word sharp and clear.
Ryojin: "Sensei, you may trust your own power, but do you know... how they got in?"
Silence fell. All eyes fixed on him.
Aizawa furrowed his brow, paused to think — and suddenly, his eyes widened.
"...Teleport?" he murmured.
Ryojin nodded slowly.
Ryojin: "Yes. It's warp, or teleport for sure. And if that's true... they can go anywhere."
He pointed to Aizawa, continuing.
Ryojin: "Right now, no one can stop them — except you, Sensei."
Ryojin: "If you go down to fight and fail, or get caught, none of us will be left. We'll either be dead or taken hostage."
Everyone fell utterly silent. His words were too heavy to argue against.
Then he turned to Kaminari, pointed directly, and commanded with firm resolve.
Ryojin: "Kaminari! Use your Quirk — try to contact UA right now! Even if you can't reach them yet... keep trying. Don't stop!!"
Denki: "Y-Yeah!! Okay!!"Kaminari jumped in surprise but immediately obeyed.
Meanwhile, Ryojin wasted no time.He started assigning roles to each person.Amidst the chaos and fear — no one refused.
...They all knew if they didn't trust him, death would come knocking within minutes
Ryojin: "Shoji, Jiro, Tokoyami! One of them can open warp doors for sure. Keep your eyes peeled. If you see anything unusual, report to Aizawa immediately!"
His voice was firm as his gaze swept the surroundings.
Shoji nodded, "Got it!"
Jiro showed a serious expression, "Understood!"
Tokoyami spoke shortly but with weight, "The shadows will be our eyes."
"Bakugo, cover the right flank! Kirishima, take the front! Sato, guard the left flank!"
Ryojin commands cut through the air like a battlefield commander.
Bakugo's brow twitched, "Don't order me around, damn it..." but he moved into position immediately.Kirishima shouted loudly, "You got it, friend!"Sato added promptly, "No problem!"
Ryojin turned to the support group.
Ryojin: "Aoyama, Sero, Mineta, Goda, Todoroki — you're the ranged units. If a villain gets even close, shoot first, think later!"
"All acknowledged!" they replied in unison.
"Everyone else, group up in the center! Cover each other! Don't let anyone fall behind!"
The sound of hurried footsteps quickened as Aizawa took position at the rear, Number 13 led the way, and all the students moved with precision.
Midoriya glanced nervously at the villains' group, his face revealing hesitation.
Without wasting words, Ryojin grabbed Midoriya's collar and yanked him back into the group immediately. "Don't wander off, you idiot!"
Midoriya snapped out of his trance and hurriedly nodded, "Sorry, Kazuma-kun!" before quickening his pace to catch up.
Aizawa glanced at the young man leading them... his heart fluttered slightly.
Kazuma wasn't just silent — he was calm, and even more decisive than Aizawa himself.
Suddenly, shouts came from behind.
"Hey! They're running!"
"Chase them down! Don't let them escape!"
The sounds of footsteps and villainous laughter followed as the villains moved swiftly.
"Mo-chan!" Ryojin turned to her.
Ryojin: "Create nails or any sharp objects! Throw them to block their path!"
Momo nodded, "Understood!"
Ryojin: "Todoroki! Wait until the traps are set, then seal the path with ice immediately!"
Todoroki replied calmly, "Got it."
Moments later, Momo extended her hand, "Done!"
Ryojin: "Go, Todo! Now!"
Fwoosh! Ice shot from Todoroki's feet, soaring into a massive wall that instantly blocked the rear's sightline.
Everyone stared in awe.
"Wonderful..." someone murmured.
Even Number 13 glanced over.
But Todoroki began to slump; his body temperature seemed to plummet rapidly.
Ryojin wasted no time and easily lifted Todoroki into his arms.
"It's time to move!!!" he shouted, and everyone quickened their pace at his command.
"Rest for now, Todo. We might need your power again."
Though startled by being carried, Todoroki didn't resist.
His face flushed slightly at those words.
"Mo-chan!" Ryojin called, making her flinch a little.
"Make a blanket for Todoroki."
"Got it!"
She smiled without realizing it… feeling oddly warmed in her heart amidst this chaos.
Ryojin turned back again.
"Aizawa! Dash to the entrance! Open the door! We need an evacuation route!"
Aizawa's eyes widened but didn't hesitate, "Understood!" and shot off.
"Sero, Tokoyami, Goda! Protect Aizawa until he reaches the door!"
"Okay/Understood!" the three responded, rushing after him.
The distance closed; everything seemed to be going smoothly... until—
"Sensei! Black fog at the rear!" Shoji shouted.
All eyes turned back immediately. The large black fog moved silently, drifting closer.
Suddenly, it jerked as if its quirk was being suppressed!
"Eraser He—"
Bang!
The clash of metal sounded.
Something resembling a black butterfly-shaped bullet zoomed at full speed, piercing the core of Kurogiri's fog.
Thud...
Everyone froze for a moment.
Kazuma's voice was soft but icy cold.
Ryojin: 'Good thing it came for us to deal with first.'
The shriek of the black fog echoed in the silence, writhing in pain. The once calm fog form began to tremble.
Aizawa didn't hesitate, rushing forward with hero-level speed. He skillfully wrapped the long cloth around Kurogiri's form, then slammed it to the ground and pinned it tightly.
"What the hell do you think you're doing here!?" Aizawa's voice was harsher than ever — filled with rage.
Before the question could be answered, another voice interrupted.
Ryojin: Can we stop the questions for now?
His voice was cold but sharp.
Ryojin: Save them for after we escape this place.
Aizawa met his gaze... then silently nodded.
Then we hurried toward the exit.
He gently laid Todoroki down near the main entrance. Todoroki was still breathing heavily but had some strength left.
"Todoroki, use ice again. Seal the entrance," he ordered calmly.
Without a word, Todoroki nodded and stretched out his hand. Another massive wall of ice was created — this time solid, like a final barrier.
Soon enough, everyone gathered outside, leaving behind the chaotic USJ.
"We made it…" Mina whispered, almost in disbelief.
"Thank God…" Sero added.
"I-I feel weak in my legs…" Toru said shakily.
"Thank you so much, boss!!" Mineta cried, clutching Ryojin tightly. He could only sigh and shake his head.
Breaths and soft cries echoed as everyone exhaled in relief after escaping danger. They looked up — the sky was clearer and brighter than ever.
But inside Ryojin...
Ryojin: 'It's not over yet.'
He turned around.
Ryojin: Kaminari, contact the school.
The young boy sitting on the ground looked up, his face full of confusion. "Huh… what did you say?"
He slowly raised his hand and opened the communication screen on his hero suit, but his face changed immediately. He grew pale and fell silent for a moment.
Then he looked up — eyes wide.
"No... no signal at all!!!" he shouted, voice trembling with fear.
Aizawa immediately frowned. "No signal? Impossible..."
He suddenly turned to Aizawa.
Ryojin: "Eida! Go to the school now! Request backup as fast as possible!"
"But... we still—"
Ryojin: Go!!!
His shout cut through all hesitation, sharp enough to silence the air.
Though his eyes were calm... inside, his heart burned like lava.
Something was coming... and it would be worse than anyone imagined
Ryojin: "No time... it's coming..."
His voice was barely a whisper, yet everyone heard it clearly.
He could feel it—something dark, twisted, heavy like the pressure from the depths of hell—it was closing in.
Before anyone could react...
Crash!
Todoroki's ice wall shattered!
A thick, pitch-black shadow shot out like a nightmare beast, targeting Todoroki, who was at the rear.
"Todoroki!!" he shouted.
He didn't even see it coming—the shadow was faster than thought.
Ryojin dashed forward instantly.
No—this wasn't just speed.
This was his life's top speed.
He overtook everyone, leaving them stunned, before shoving Todoroki out of the hellish shadow's reach.
He survived...
But at the cost of...
Thunk!
The sound of flesh tearing, blood spraying.
"...No... your arm..." Momo cried out, tears streaming down her pale face.
My left arm... was severed, and my left eye was attacked—fortunately, it wasn't pierced directly, but it left a scar.
Now he bled like a crimson rain.
Everyone froze, as if their hearts stopped.
Then...
A voice came from the shadows—a strange man's voice, cold... and laced with a ruthless brutality that shook their hearts.
??? : "...Oh, did I startle you?"
No one answered.
No one could move.
Aizawa tried to move but stopped as a feeling of death spread.
It was an aura—not just powerful but savage.
Like death itself had entered their field of vision.
Everyone went rigid.
Only Iida managed to run out just before it spread.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Gunshots rang out.
Bullets flew directly at the man but...
He dodged every single one without moving more than a step.
He chuckled softly.
"Not bad at all..." His tone was like admiring art. "I'm starting to like you. Interested in working together?"
He slowly lifted his head, eyes glowing red amid the darkness.
??? : "Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself... I'm Engen."
Before anyone could speak—
I shouted.
"Fck!!!"
The shout echoed, filled with rage from a madman with a severed arm—enough to make everyone look back at Ryojin.
My left arm was gone, just a torn wound and blood still flowing.
Mineta collapsed immediately.
The girls all started crying.
Even the guys... Bakugo couldn't move.
Legs felt weak.
The aura the enemy emitted didn't fade—it grew stronger, like a ravenous beast.
The man smiled wide, enjoying every ounce of fear.
"Not very pleasant, huh..." he muttered. "But I like it."
Engen: "I see you. You command everyone well, and you're not afraid of my aura. I'm getting interested."
Engen's voice grew more terrifying as he stepped slowly toward the bloodied Ryojin.
Engen: "Alright then. I don't want to fight anymore. At first, I thought nothing interesting would happen, but then I found you. I've lost the will to battle."
After speaking, Engen began to vanish into the shadows he created. His voice lingered in the air before silence fell.
Everyone felt a collective exhale. They couldn't believe they survived that terrifying man's attack, but deep down, they knew—it wasn't over.
Momo rushed to Ryoujin, still standing, his left arm severed and bleeding uncontrollably. She nearly sobbed but gritted her teeth, squeezing his hand to keep him conscious.
"Ryo... are you okay? Please tell me you're alright..." Momo sobbed, but Ryojin just smiled at her—a cold smile even in that moment.
An explosion shattered the silence, echoing sharply, making everyone whip their heads around.
From the broken ice debris emerged a monster—large and humanoid in shape, but massively muscular. Veins bulged over its huge muscles, its forehead split open revealing a brain nearly exposed. Its wide eyes reflected the students' terror, and its large, beak-like mouth was filled with sharp teeth like a beast.
It walked out slowly; every step on the ice shards shattered the ground beneath. It stared at them without a sound, forcing everyone to retreat.
"What the hell is that..." Bakugo muttered, his face tense.
They all knew—it wouldn't stop there.
Suddenly, gunshots rang out again.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Ryojin fired bullets at it, but
It was unfazed. Its skin healed instantly.
"Useless!" Sero yelled.
Everyone realized this was no ordinary foe, but then…
The USJ door opened!
"Ah, damn cold..." a man's voice sounded as he stepped through the door.
??? : "Where's Kurogiri?"
He wore a mask shaped like multiple hands covering his face.
??? : "You're heroes, right? Then why attack us? Want to kill us?"
His deep voice rubbed his neck, seeming to beg for help.
"Kurogiri, you bastard... how dare you get caught, huh!" The man stepped back.
"Forget it... Numo! Get rid of them!" he ordered curtly.
Suddenly, it lunged at Aizawa—its speed beyond expectations!
Aizawa was caught off guard, but just as it was about to attack...
[Fell Bullet]
Bang!!!
Nomu's head exploded apart. Kazuma fired his rifle with one hand, but his condition—
Half of his face was blackened, like covered in red mist, and the other half was veined and swollen.
Ryojin: "Fall back!!!"
Ryojin: "Everyone in close combat! Grab Nomu! Ranged attackers, protect Uraraka—if you want to survive!!"
"Huh!?" Many shouted in shock, confused why Uraraka needed protection right now.
"Do it!! Now!!" I yelled, my voice filled with pressure and desperation. My mind went blank, but inside my head repeated the words "kill, kill, kill"—like a demon gnawing away at my sanity. The only plan I could think of—the only way out for us—was...
"Uraraka!! Touch it and use your power! Hurry!!"
"W-What!? M-Me?" Uraraka's eyes widened, fear gripping her heart. She never imagined she'd be the deciding factor between life and death for everyone.
She ran forward alongside the close-combat fighters.
Gunshots rang out in rhythm.
Ryojin tried shooting to keep it from regenerating too fast.
"Uraraka! Get hold of it and use your power on it!!!" Ryojin shouted.
Ochako: "Okay!!!"
Now everyone was united—if they wanted to survive, they had to work together. The strong men firmly held Nomu, who was regenerating, tightly restraining it.
"Uraraka's gravity power is the key to our survival. We have to send it floating out beyond the atmosphere!"
Uraraka dashed forward. Nomu was nearly fully regenerated. Soon—
"Got it!" Uraraka cried out, anxious.
"Use it now!!!"
I fired my gun once more, but this time after shooting, my power drained instantly. I knew then—I was really reaching my limit.
Before he could do anything else,
He saw a fist flying toward him. Time seemed to freeze, and behind that fist were his friends, pale from the shock that Nomu had broken free, rushing to his side.
Ryojin: Sigh "Seems like God really hates us."
He said this just before—
Nomu's punch exploded the ground violently. The noise and motion ceased to silence. Everyone stood still, afraid to breathe, hearing only their own weakening breaths.
But what everyone saw was Kazuma lying on the ground, face covered in blood and wounds. His body broken in an instant. Hope began to fade.
Ryojin heard everyone scream, but his ears started to fail. He felt drowsy, numb. He closed his eyes
